I agree. Regina not being able to do magic just doesn’t fit with her overall characterization: power hungry and obsessed with getting her way. I think she worked the curse so that she could keep her powers as well as her memory. I just don’t think she would rob herself of her powers.

Yeah. And the show said that the consequence that Regina had for doing the curse was a void that would not be filled and not that she would lose her powers. Also Regina did hold Graham’s beating heart in her hand and crush it which is magic like. Also i keep thinking that Regina might still be using the mirrors to spy on people because of the way they shoot certain scenes by using the reflections.

Also when Hansel and Gretel were in Emma’s cop car the compass started working again so that makes me think that magic might still be working. Also Mary had a blue bird in the pilot on her finger. I agree we don’t know for certain, but i really think that magic is the way to go.

For me, personally, I think the heart is Kathryn’s. The heart is a literal human heart—not the magical heart like we saw in “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.” If the heart, is in fact, not Kathryn’s, it most certainly is someone’s heart (and I’m sure Regina has lots of people she’s wanted to kill). I don’t think it’s a magical heart seeing as how it’s not glowing.

I think it’s obvious (to me anyway) that Regina put that box there and framed Mary-Margaret with the fingerprints. I’m curious how Regina got the fingerprints to start with 😆

I actually think that the magical heart we saw the queen holding was literally the huntsman’s heart. It was just glowing and beating which was magical, but it was still literally his beating heart.

I think the hearts the EQ extracted were the person’s soul. It took on the tangible qualities of a human heart in size and appearance, but it was really a metaphore for a human soul.

When Emma was close to Graham she said something to the effect of “…there, I can hear your beating heart. It’s there, I can feel it” just before they kissed. It’s non-sensical to remove an actual beating heart and have the person still walking and talking.

I think the heart is Kathryn’s but I can’t shake the feeling the writers are dangling another red herring for us to grab. Emma did get hair samples and DNA evidence from the car accident, right? I don’t remember he saying so, but she probably sent that evidence along with the heart to a lab for a match.

I wanna go with belle’s heart to tie her back into the story…maybe somwhere going along with my sleeping beauty theory.. she had belle under her control… before the curse. we have to remember the heart is still whole.. so their still alive… if anyhting happens to it tho..uh oh.

I disagree that it is nonsensical to remove their heart and have them still walking around. It is magic. As long as they keep whatever they decide to do consistent then they can remove peoples hearts and have them still live all the want. It is no more nonsensical to remove someone’s heart then someone’s soul and also when the Queen sent the huntsman out to kill Snow she asked him to bring her Snow’s heart and i think she meant literally her heart.

Regina planted the heart to make Snow look bad. I don’t think it’s anyone’s heart in particular, but who knows. I think Kathryn is quite fine…well, not fine anyways, probably kidnapped and kept hostage. David needs a heart to love MM. And I believed if the Queen had Charming’s heart before curse took place than she would have done some crazy stuff to him. My theory is the heart is Regina because she looks like she doesn’t have one. Maybe it silly for me to say that because I believe she loves Henry, but at the same time she doesn’t love people quite well or doesn’t seem to know how to love.

    @ Amy

I think the heart is Katherine’s because there is no real indication that it is any one else’s. I also think it’s Katherine’s because of the parallels between Katherine and Gram. They were both Regina’s pets who decided to ignore her wishes and chose their own paths. Katherine’s purpose in Storybrook was to keep David away from Mary Margaret. Katherine is no longer standing between David and Mary Margaret, so Regina needs to get rid of her. So Regina kills her heart. What better use of the heart then than to frame someone for the gruesome murder?

I agree with this understanding of things. Regina has threatened Sydney before by saying she gets rid of things which are no longer useful to her. Kathryn’s usefulness had simply run out, so Regina decided to make her disappear. That played into Regina’s desire to frame Mary Margaret for Kathryn’s murder.

I speculate that the heart belongs to Graham. I highly doubt the idea that it’s a heart of a Storybrooke citizen from a gruesome murder.

From what I understand, the hearts that the Queen collects are still beating when she stores them away – but seeing how Emma & Ruby didn’t pass out from seeing beating heart in the mysterious box by the bridge, I assume it was life-less. I wonder if part of the magic of her storage unit is to keep the hearts alive- so in order to ensure the death of Graham, Regina had to find a new hiding place for his heart. It would make for quite a confusing discovery if DNA test reveal that it belongs to someone who’s still alive – the results would just be ignored as a mistake. However, if they came back as a match with Graham, things would get much more interesting and give the characters cause for discovering who they really are.

As a last note, I believe Mary-Maragret’s fingerprints on the box came from FairyTale Land, not Storybrooke.
