I have a feeling Rumple will do anything to keep her alive. He has spent his whole life regreting he lost her, once he has her again, he will never let her go. This puts a lot of people in danger if he is truely willing to do what ever it takes.
Very true. The show has given us numerous examples of how love and revenge can result in absolute disaster. Regina’s whole reasoning for casting the curse is because she wanted revenge for what happened to Daniel. This could easily happen with Rumpel too. But let’s hope it doesn’t. 😯 😯 😯
EEEK!!! 😯 😯 😯 I could actually see that happening. For the sake of the twon, let’s hope Regina doesn’t kill Belle. Becasue if she does, ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE!!! 😮 😮 😮

It’s still way too early to try to guess where Rumpel’s character will go. We don’t know what happened to Baelfire, we don’t know what happened to his first wife, and we don’t know his reasoning behind making the Dark Curse. Judging by the interviews with Robert Carlyle, the writers and the producers, there’s a lot more story to tell with Rumpel and the Dark Curse. I think one of the producers even hinted that Rumpel didn’t create the Dark Curse for evil, but for something else.
Like Midnight Dreary stated, Rumpel could end up like Spike. Redeeming himself in the last minutes of the entire series.

Well i didn’t say anything justified Regina or Rumpel’s behavior, i just feel sorry for Regina’s bad childhood, and, in my opinion, from what we saw of Rumpel before he became the dark one he was already not a good man, so until we actually see what led to him being like that then i don’t really feel sorry for Rumpel. I feel sorry for Bae, but not Rumpel so much.
And i feel sorry for Regina only because of her childhood and not because of what Snow did to her. Regina’s mother was insane. That doesn’t justify what Regina became, but it at least explains it somewhat. They need to go further back in Rumpel’s life or at least have Rumpel talk about it instead of going forward.
You’ve actually said this a few times. Can you please elaborate on why you think pre-Dark One Rumpel was evil? Because I just don’t see it.
beauty the beastParticipantOh, I definitely think Mr. Gold’s character wil suffer a lot of lows in his story arc. That’s almost a given. I think us Rumpel fans just tend to get a little too defensive of our favorite character sometimes. 😆 But hey, that’s what happens when you have a horde of fangirls chasing you down the street. 😆
beauty the beastParticipantWow, I just noticed that I’m sporting a Regina banner. 😆 😆 😆 I feel really weird now.
I still love her though. 😀

I think you can always expect the worst of Rumpel. I certainly always expect the worst out of the Evil Queen. Though i think it is possible to feel sorry for him, what made him what he is, but we haven’t seen that yet. We have seen what the made Regina the Evil Queen and i do feel sorry for her bad childhood, but i still think that she is always going to do the worst. I expect the same thing from Rumpel.
We already know what caused Rumpel to be evil. It was explicitly stated in “Desperate Souls.” He became evil when he became the Dark One.
And we’ve already seen numerous examples of Rumpel having the capacity to love in “Skin Deep” and “Desperate Souls.” Once Regina became evil, that was it. All of the moments we thought she was actually good turned out to be a red herring. And I don’t count blaming a innocent little girl for the death of your fiance as a decent enough answer as to why she became evil. Rumpel on the other hand was transformed into another being. He was no longer human. Regina was human, so her reasoning for becoming evil are actually pretty weak.
beauty the beastParticipantI would love to see Mr. Gold reunited with his son. I think that’s why so many people want August to be Baelfire. But if he isn’t Baelfire, I’ll try not to be too upset. I trust the writers.

I still really think that Rumpel’s loyalties are just with himself. He threw Belle out and even though he wanted her back later on after he heard what Regina said, he still threw her out. And we have no idea what he did to Bae, but i am thinking it isn’t going to be great.
Hmm, I disagree. The only reason why Rumpel threw Belle out is because he thought the Evil Queen sent Belle to steal his powers. He thought he was being tricked. I thoughthe made it quite clear. And yes Midnight Dreary, Robert Carlyle did confirm that on Twitter.
And it’s way too early to know what exactly happened to Baelfire. Personally I think August is Bae, so whatever happened to him, it obviously was that horrible.

I’m still trying to figure out what’s Rumpel’s role in all of this. He always seems to be at the center of the show’s most important storylines. He always has his hand in numerous different deals. So, how will this play into the finale? Mr. Gold is not only influencing Regina, but now Emma and Mary Margaret. And to be honest, I’d add August to that growing list as well.
Mr. Gold will definitely play a huge role in the finale, as well as breaking the curse. For one, it’s his curse, and only he knows the true way in which it can be broken. And on top of that, he’s so intimately involved in the lives of the other characters that it would be hard not to include him. Rumpel’s deals and actions have all found a way to effect not only Fairytale land, but Storybrooke as well. Personally, I think the breaking of the curse and the final destruction of Regina will all hinge upon Rumpel’s actions. Will he side with good (Emma, Mary Margaret, David), or evil (Regina), or will he side with himself and pursue selfish goals (Belle)? I have a feeling he’ll choose either Emma’s side or Belle’s side (whatever that is).

I like the idea that Regina has her heart locked up in a box, (well, not like it, coz it’d be super sad, but I like it as a plot point). There wouldn’t be any brainwashing needed because Belle would be numb and wouldn’t remember anything of their love.
That may very well be the case. We’ve been speculating for months about who’s hearts are in Regina’s volt. We’ve gone from David, to Kathyrn, to Mary Margaret and even Mr. Gold. But the most plausible and sensible choice would actually be Belle. We know for a fact that Regina has her locked up. We’re not exactly sure why, but we do know it’s for a very specific reason that has yet to be revealed to us. So, Regina taking Belle’s heart actually makes more sense. Regina probably has the hearts of all her slaves and victims, so there’s no doubt in my mind that she has Belle’s. And on top of that, taking Belle’s heart and controlling her would effect Mr. Gold. When Mr. Gold finally finds Belle, he’ll probably expect her hug and kiss him, but sense Regina has control of her heart, she’ll probably pull away and declare her hatred of him. That would unhinge him. But that’s exactly what Regina wants. An emotionlly vulnerable Mr. Gold equals an easy win for Regina.
