Mr. Gold seems to be the man behind the curtain, doesn’t he? But that’s why I love him so much. I like how he’s able to subtly manipulate any given situation. That aspect of his character makes him even more terrifying than the Evil Queen. The Evil Queen is more boastful and obvious about her plan sometimes, whereas Mr. Gold comes off as more quiet and subtle. We’re in for a pretty scary battle this season.

Emma is a very interesting character. I think the writers are doing an amazing job especially with presenting her. Some people may say “oh, she just like her mom and dad,” but really, she’s just a mixture between her parents and Regina.
You kinda see her good and evil side battling out in certain episodes. It’s like she has a White Swan and Black Swan personality. She’s trying to lean towards her good side, trying to do the right thing and be a good person, but she gives into temptation (placing a bug in Regina’s office, asking Mr. Gold for help, tricking Jefferson(Ya, that was the only way to save Mary Margaret, but it’s cruel to play with people’s emotions when it comes to family)). I can imagine that being a problem for Emma. If she can’t make the pure, straight choices, then she may fall off the path to saving Storybrooke. She may become the Black Swan or the White Swan. It all depends on her choices.
Very interesting analysis. I agree that Emma should be careful of who she allies ehrself with. Even though I like Mr. Gold, I’m not blind. The man is trouble in its purest form. The same goes with Sydney. It’ll be interesting to witness Emma’s journey through each trial and tribulation. She’ll undoubtedly face some huge obstacles, but she’s strong. I have faith in Emma. 😉
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterThanks for joining us! I look forward to hearing the things that you spot!
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterI hope the writers don’t kill her off. I know she’s only been in two episodes, but I already love her. And it wouldn’t make sense for the writers to kill her off anyway. Why keep her hidden all season only to kill her off in the season finale? I think the writers have something very big for Belle. She’s central to Rumpel’s story, and the key to getting his loyalty. If Regina ever hurts Belle than she’s just created the greatest enemy she’ll ever have. 😯
Besides, I think Belle will reveal soemthing very important about the curse in the season finale. If she does have all of her memories, then she probably has some insight into the inner workings of the curse. Maybe she’ll give Emma some much needed information that Jefferson couldn’t give her…You know, sense they kicked him out of the window and all. 😆
I think the writers just gave a recent interview about how important Belle’s role will be in the finale. Hold on, let me go find it…
I’M BACK!!! 😆 Here’s the link:

Daniel J. LewisKeymasterI don’t like him that much either. But I feel bad about it though. I feel like we’re supposed to like David. He’s Prince Charming! We’re supposed to root for him, but his Storybrooke persona makes it difficult. 🙁
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterModerator to the rescue. 🙂
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterUGH!!! Finally! I’ve been waiting for someone to make a thread like this! Even though I would love for August to be Bae, I could totally see him as the Wizard of Oz. The storm, the license plate, the lemurs, the jewelry… I noticed all of this! But I wasn’t sure if it was all just a red herring. I hope it’s true. The more powerful people in Storybrooke the better. I love having all these titans on the show. 😀
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterI think I’ll tackle a few more of the OP’s questions. 😀
How does Belle factor into the curse?
I don’t think Belle’s DNA or essence is needed to create or break the curse, but I do think that she was the inspiration for the curse. In episode 1×16, “Heart of Darkness,” we learned that Rumpel was able to bottle true love in the form of Snow and Charming’s hair. And a lot of people are speculating that it is true love, and not the heart of the one you love most, is what’s needed to cast the Dark Curse. So, why would the Dark One be so fascinated with true love? Why would someone so evil be interested in bottling true love? This clearly occured after Belle’s supposed “death,” so that leads me to believe that her death was the catalyst for Rumpel’s interest in true love. So, is Belle directly involved in the curse? No. But was she inspiration for it? Probably yes. 😉Why are Rumpelstiltskin and the Evil Queen rivals?
Well, in episode 1×18, “The Stable Boy,” we learned that Regina’s mother Cora was the original millers daughter. And if that’s the case, then Regina was probably the child that Rumpel wanted as payment. So, I think Regina hates Rumpel because of that.Daniel J. LewisKeymaster@Dorothy wrote:

We probably all feel that Belle’s life is in danger. But on the other hand if Regina killed her, then that would be over for her. She would no longer have the upper hand over Gold and she would have to face his wrath. She would be done and the final battle would end pretty quickly, I think.
*Fist Bump* Word. :ugeek:
Mr. Gold would unleash hell on Earth if Regina kills Belle. Besides, Regina needs Belle alive. She’s of much greater value alive then dead. As long as she has Belle, she has leverage over Mr. Gold.
Seriously-for a little guy with a cane, Gold’s proven himself capable of causing all kinds of chaos. His reaction would be like a nuclear bomb.
Ok, this was hilarious! 😆 That cane has brought more pain and suffering than the Ogre Wars. 😆
But seriously though, Mr. Gold would start WWIII if anything very happened to Belle. 😯
Daniel J. LewisKeymasterI actually see Mr. Gold reigning supreme in season 2. I think he’ll manage to temporarily defeat Regina in the finale by revealing some sort of information about the curse or managaing to get Emma and Mary Margaret on his side. But even scarier? I could actually see him as the next mayor. 😯 But I hope that’s not the case. I like having Mr. Gold be the ominous figure who lurks in the background while secretly manipulating everyone behind the scenes. It makes accomplishing his goals (whatever those are) much easier. 😉
