ParticipantThere was a bug in the flowers. That right there explained how she knew. Sydney planted it (no pun intended) in her office to “brighten up the place”.

ParticipantWow… I think you may have nailed it. I also saw Tin Man’s oil can on one of Gold’s shelves in episode 1×16 Heart of Darkness. No way he’s Pinocchio, you’re right about that. That would be such a let down (even if he was Bae). Peter Pan would be exciting. But you have nice evidence to back it up.
So do you think he had anything to do with bringing Henry to SB for Regina? Do you think him and Rumps made a deal back in the day and maybe August tries to kill him instead of honoring that agreement?
Being Oz would also explain how he knows so much. And, like Oz helped Dorothy get back home to Kansas, August is helping them get back to where they belong.
Good stuff…

you know what the writers could do, is introduce us to part of August’s back story, like a teaser and give us the rest sometime in season 2.
Oooo I like that. I mean, I’ll be furious when I watch it but only because I want to freaking know who he is.

ParticipantRight?! That could open up a lot of doors (pun intended) for these writers. But I don’t think it would lead back to FTL or else he’d just go back and stay

ParticipantWhy the cup is so special (Chip) to Rumple. I think it’s more than the fact that Belle broke it. I think someone is Chip. It better be dang it.

ParticipantCan I be keeper of Ginnifer Goodwin? Not to be creepy or anything but she’s beautiful….. and she won’t reply to my tweets
Can we keep more than one? If so I’d like the correct valentines day card to give to my sweet Ginnifer, as well as the flowers Dr. Whale got her. I’m going to give them to her instead.

ParticipantI’ve got it. August is Peter Pan.
I’ve done very intensive research before this post and although I changed my mind four times now, I’m feeling good about this one. My other theories are Chip (the teacup from Beauty and the Beast), Henry’s dad, or Simpleton from The Golden Goose (a story from the book Once Upon a Time: A Collection of Classic Fairy Tales with the preface being written by the writers of OUAT. I’ve also thought he was a donkey because of Pinocchio, Shrek (Ogre Wars? Idk), and the fact that a donkey is mentioned quite a bit in that book (previously mentioned) and he makes deals with a landlord……sound familiar?
WHY PETER PAN
1. First, go to episode 15, Red-Handed, and fast forward 2 minutes in (02:00). Ruby is talking to August about how he's always on the move. He says, “Plus I had my motorcycle so if I didn't like a place after a while… [makes noise and hand gesture] which looks like a FLYING hand gesture if you ask me. See for yourself >> http://vimeo.com/399481652. I DO, however, still think August he’s Bae, as well. After Rumps turned into the dark one, Bae runs into a fairy–Tinkerbell–who tells him about Never Never Land, where he never has to grow up, never fight in Ogre wars, no rules, no parents; freedom. So Tink takes Bae to NeverLand (NL from here on out) which is why Rumps despises “nuns” or fairies and they go through Mad Hatters Hat. One of those many doors leads to NL. This is why Rumps refers to his son as “Lost”. He’s one of the Lost Boys. (Peter Pan was considered a Lost Boy, right?)
3. Peter Pan didn’t have a mother. Neither does Bae.
4. August’s leg injury thing, “shin splints”, happened because he was so used to flying that it’s difficult on his legs sometimes.
5. The title “The Return” is referring to Bae returning to FTL from NL.
6. If Regina saw Bae as a boy in FTL (which I don’t think she has done..yet) then she wouldn’t recognize him as an adult but might look “familiar”.
So why is August in Storybrooke?
Once Emma arrived, that allowed Mad Hatter to leave his house that he’d been trapped in for 28 years. Well it also allowed August, wherever he was, to be free and come into Storybrooke (or out of his house in Storybrooke). I don’t think August and Mr. Gold have had scenes together yet, but at some point one approached the other and they made an agreement…Mr. Gold and August made a deal in SB. Mr. Gold (whom I think is the official “author” of the book) wants Emma to believe (in my opinion) so that she can break the curse. So he asks August to add pages, become pals with Henry, and slowly but surely help Emma gain faith. The basement or cellar he was in when adding the pages was probably Mr. Gold's.
August, like father like son, has his own agenda that he is keeping from Mr. Gold. August states, “That is why I'm here. I'm here for Emma.” to Henry at Granny’s. (Heart of Darkness, 14:00). This kid (Peter Pan/Bae/August) hasn’t had a mother and being in FTL and then NL without a mother might be hard for him. SO (like the story) August is “return”ing to SB to find a mother–which he wants to be Emma.
The pictures that were posted showed Rumple and Bae shaking hands as if they had just made an agreement. We also see the dagger being shown to Bae. I think he was just telling Bae “Hey son, if I go too crazy with this Dark One stuff, all you have to do is kill me with this dagger.” OR “If you can find someone to kill me with this, everything will go back to the way it was and we can be happy.” (The latter one would explain why Bae is smiling while shaking hands with his old man.)
I have a lot off references for why I think/thought August is Chip and/or Henry’s dad. I do not want him to be Bae and only Bae. (I don’t want him to be Bae at all, but if he has to be, then give him another character too.) I’ll post those in a new thread 🙂

Wonder if we’ll see Maleficent in this one. You’d think they’d hafta show the scene where EQ goes to her for the sleeping curse to use on the apple, right?
Good point. If like to see that scene. And I also agree to the meaning of the title and hope that the first scene in the pilot makes another appearance. Although I don’t care too much for seeing Charming and Snow’s life between him saving her and them having Snow. But we don’t know how long they waited to have a child, do we? There’s no telling how much went down in that time. If they waited longer than a year to have Emma then I’d be up for seeing that story. But I still don’t think it’ll be the finale.
If you watched Lost, every finale ended with a cliffhanger so big that it’d make you want to hang yourself from a cliff. But what they were doing was introducing us to something so new/different so that they could spend a whole new season explaining it or building on top of it.
Lost Finales:
Season 1: a light came on inside the hatch.
Season 2: the Others kidnap Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.
Season 3: FlashFORWARDING begins. Charlie dies. New people come to the island are not who they say they are.
Season 4: The Oceanic 6 get off the island. We think Jin dies. They want to go back in Flashforwards. We see that John Locke was in the casket
Season 5: the incident. ‘Nough said.I understand this isn’t a Lost forum but I’m trying to explain how every season finale introduced us to something that would make the series last longer. And although OUAT has many background stories about fairy tales to explain, the curse can’t go on for the entire series. Something big needs to happen.
To tell you the truth I would LOVE to see them switch to Flashforwards at some point. Who knows, maybe they already are… :p

ParticipantOk that makes sense. Ooo maybe Dr. Whale was in on tampering the results? He’s already hinted that he’s on Regina’s side when he called her after John Doe had brain activity.
