I think the hearts the EQ extracted were the person’s soul. It took on the tangible qualities of a human heart in size and appearance, but it was really a metaphore for a human soul.
When Emma was close to Graham she said something to the effect of “…there, I can hear your beating heart. It’s there, I can feel it” just before they kissed. It’s non-sensical to remove an actual beating heart and have the person still walking and talking.
I think the heart is Kathryn’s but I can’t shake the feeling the writers are dangling another red herring for us to grab. Emma did get hair samples and DNA evidence from the car accident, right? I don’t remember he saying so, but she probably sent that evidence along with the heart to a lab for a match.

Red says that the paws turn into boots.
Not only had my power of observation failed, apparently I can’t hear as well. (I still want to see screen shots. I’m positive I saw toes in those prints.)

The print actually went from wolf to boot print. And i think that was the right way to go. It is a little weird, but no less weird then Grumpy popping out of his egg with clothes on.
Wait, are you sure they were boot prints? I’m pretty sure I saw five toes in the prints. In fact that is what lead to Red&Snow being shocked and confused.
malchoreParticipantAnother weird thing. The tracks eventually changed from wolf to human, and they (Red and Snow) followed them back into the village and ultimately to Red’s home. The tracks were bare human feet, in the snow. We (the audience) are meant to belive when Red transforms back into a human she is without clothing, even though we saw she was fully clothed after Granny covered the wolf with the red cloak. You’d think Red would notice she’s Inexplicably losing a lot of dresses and boots!
I’ll chalk that up to the fact the show is a primetime family show on network TV and can’t have a naked Meghan Ory wandering around (no matter how much I wish for it.)
malchoreParticipantOh, good point about the werewolf curse not broken when she kissed Peter. My initial reaction is that she’s not under a “magical” curse — those can be broken with true love’s kiss.
From wikipedia, “…the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or an anthropomorphic wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse and/or lycanthropic affliction via a bite or scratch from a werewolf, or some other means.” Granny related the hereditary history of their family – the family has the affliction of lycanthrope.
Another possibility is the red cloak can prevent her from becoming the werewolf, and also shields her from breaking the curse with true love’s kiss.
As to your point about the hunting party not able to follow the tracks, maybe the show was trying to imply that men are so stupid they can’t even follow tracks in the snow in broad daylight! 😆

Back to the reasons David may have the blackouts:
1. Regina has his heart and can control it.
2. With the turn of events, trying to find someone desperately, David’s subconcious is reminded of the quest to find Snow. When he goes into this “blackout time” his Charming side takes over, not that he remembers, but that he has to find someone/something. (That’s what I believe, actually.)
3. It’s a simple relapse because of the coma. (Just putting it down for completion. Seems very unlikely and not the purpose of the show.)
4. He’s faking. (as above)What do you think?
1. I’m not comfortable with Regina and Rumple able to do magic in Storybrooke. I mean, we haven’t seen them cast any spells, or do anything that can’t otherwise be explained away. Except…the way Regina killed Sherriff Grahm. I can’t easily explain that away except magic. (Also in the same episode, both Grahm and Emma could see a wolf, which lead them to Henry Mills coffiin. Weird.)
2. I don’t know. Then why did he not react when he was talking to MM? If he was looking for Snow, then he should have shown some kind of reaction when he bumped into MM in the woods.
3. Yeah, that’s the most reasonable explaination. Which means it’s a red herring 😀
4. okay, sure. why not. ❓

wasn’t he dead in FTL so if he goes to close to the border he get slammed with death and it stuns him…..sending back to the coma… He is better off staying in Storybrooke cursed or uncursed.,
I don’t think he was dead in FTL. He was dying, however. He was stabbed in the abdomen which wouldn’t kill immediately. (Well, in the wolrd of Hollywood, heroes don’t die right away — only bad guys die immediately when stabbed in the gut.)
However, he might have accidentally crossed the Storybrooke border and was zombi-fied for a time. THAT sounds plausible. Nice Thinking!!!
malchoreParticipantIs this “Peter” the Boy who cried Wolf? I was thinking this the other day, trying to think of connections the show could use to tie into the Little Red Riding Hood story, and The Boy who cried Wolf sprang to mind.
I think I mentioned this before, but The Hunter (Sherriff Grahm) had a connection with wolves. I thought maybe they would bring him back and tie him into this story somehow.

I keep wondering if Rumpel attacked the Ogre’s at some point and now they are working for him. I just thought it was strange that he could just stop the Ogre’s from attacking Belle’s village.
Yeah, good point. Rumple was quite blasé about stoping the ogres.
What I don’t get is why Rumple had any interest in Belle at all. She wasn’t a princess. He didn’t appear to have a romantic interest in her (at first; his feelings for her developed over time.) He made a point that money had no influence. All he wanted was a maid to clean his castle! What’s up with that!?
The premise of that episode is confusing to me now. I don’t like saying that because Skin Deep was written by Jane Espenson who also wrote my favorite episodes of Firefly and Caprica.
malchoreParticipantI have a few screen captures as well. I laughed at the scene where Leroy and MM were smiling really hard, but had the door slammed shut immediately. The reason I laughed is because Leroy doesn’t smile often. (which makes sense – he’s grumpy after all.)[attachment=0:38hy93q1]ouat_ss_mm_grumpy_smiling.JPG[/attachment:38hy93q1]
malchoreParticipantWhat if their kingdom was destroyed in the ogre wars? From episode Skin Deep we know the ogre wars are still raging recently. (Recent in relation to the time when the big curse was enacted.) It was mentioned on one of the past podcasts; old Europe (in which these fairy tales are based) had many, MANY kingdoms. Each city had their own king, pretty much. So it’s not far fetched that Regina’s dad could have been another king.
As for Rumple involved in a lot of trades of children, one theme with him is trading children either for royalty (ala Prince James) or taking them. But the trade usual involves a royal.
