ModeratorYou need another category IMO. ‘Mr. Gold dies for good. Rumple appears in flashbacks.’
I think that counts as rump dies and stays dead. Him appearing in flashbacks is a given since Rump knows everyone

Yeah, this is strictly concerning present day Rumple. Anyone can come back for flashbacks.

ModeratorPlot, as silly as it sounds.
But Cora even caring about Regina’s needs in this time frame is just really, so laughable. Because she doesn’t.
I think she’s not being genuine, and has some hidden ulterior motive. Because that’s how Cora works.

ModeratorWhat day is it? Regina’s wedding day? Regina’s birthday? I’m so confused about the timeline for this episode.
The anniversary of Daniel’s death, according to the press release.

ModeratorFinal adjustments for last episode’s ratings. No demo increase, but a slight total viewer increase to 5.21 million viewers:

ModeratorShe’s been established as an unreliable narrator.
She and August would get along very well. I hereby dub this ship “Woody.” =p

ModeratorI agree but A and E do have a history of introducing magic McGuffins that fix all the things. The plot doesn’t warrant it, but that wouldn’t stop A and E from introducing some sort of fix-it-all at the 11th hour that not only restores Rumple’s heart but also turns him back into the Rumple we all knew from before.
There was the whole Charming dreamshade plot point that got dragged out in Season 3A. Some people were seriously worried he was going to die for real that time. Especially when TVLine posted that article about an actor in a currently running primetime series getting offered a pilot, but that they couldn’t announce any further details at the time, because it would spoil their onscreen death for their current show. It turned out to be nobody from OUAT at all, and Charming ended up being fine.

ModeratorDoes it feel retconny to anyone else that Cora and Regina will be interacting at this point in the timeline? That’s how it’s feeling to me and it bugs.
Yes and no. We already knew that Cora somehow kidnapped Henry Sr. and took him to Wonderland, so it would make sense if she traveled back and forth in that regard. That is if they actually tell that story in this episode. Regina was also fully aware that her mother had become the Queen of Hearts. She had to learn that knowledge somehow. Yeah, Regina knew that she sent her mother to some land, but Rumple was cryptic with her in regards to which land it was. Nor would that knowledge alone inform Regina that she had become the Queen of Hearts.
It’s one of those cases where as an audience we assume one thing, but the writers find a way to tell us otherwise. For example, it turned out that Robin and Will actually met before the events of “Forget Me Not”, which does add up in hindsight because Robin already knew Will by name in that opening scene. And in the most recent episode, it turned out that Emma and Lily did meet again, while previously we assumed they never met again following their initial falling out. So I don’t know if these are really retcons, but rather a clash of different interpretations between the fans and the writers in regards to what happened during gaps in the story.
