ModeratorI…have confusion
1) How did Ingrid actually GET into SB? One second she was standing at the line and the next she was just in town.
Remember, August got into SB without being a victim of the curse either. So while normal people from A Land Without Magic can’t get into SB, anyone who is originally from FTL can.

ModeratorWhile it does feel cliche’ to have yet another Big Bad killed off, I’ll admit I liked that this time around it was Ingrid choosing to sacrifice herself. For a second I thought maybe the spell would break as a result of love and acceptance between Ingrid, Elsa, Anna and Emma, but I guess that would have been too simple.

ModeratorMary Poppins, Lion King, Phantom, Mama Mia, Chicago, Rent, and Wicked are all currently on Broadway. Newsies is touring. I don’t see them doing any of these soon. I’d love to see Beauty and the Beast or Aida though.
Actually, Mary Poppins ended its Broadway run to make way for Aladdin, which is currently performing in the same theater. RENT ended its Broadway run in 2008. Mama Mia ended its Broadway run in 2013.

ModeratorIf a version of Les Mis has aired on TV, it wouldn’t be the full Broadway musical, but one of the concert versions. The concert versions just have the actors sing in costume, but without the elaborate sets and choreography. As of yet a video version of the actual Les Mis musical as performed on stage hasn’t been done.

ModeratorJudging from the cover, looks like it’ll be set during season two which makes sense. The first graphic novel I think took place during season one.
The description mentions it being 4 separate stories, so rather than just one story like the first graphic novel, this is a compilation. So the 4 stories could take place during various time periods.

ModeratorI know Fox has a Grease Live in the works,
do they really?? Interesting. (Also, odd choice of station with Fox being smaller than the three biggies)
Personally. I’d like for them to stay away from Disney, just because of how beloved those are–try as they might, they won’t “match” the Disney. And I know that’s not the point, but humans being what they are…can’t help but draw a comparison.
I guess for me it would be Wicked
Yep, a Grease Live for Fox is set to air next year: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/fox-orders-grease-live-broadcast-699348
As for the Disney thing, their Broadway shows have actually been successful, so I don’t see those being an issue for viewers. The Lion King on Broadway actually broke the record for the most grossing Broadway musical of all time, and Beauty & The Beast is still the 8th longest running Broadway musical.
Wicked would have a lot of potential, but I don’t see that happening until after that rumored movie version finally happens. Other suggestions I would like to see would be Les Miserables (perhaps to make up to the fans who weren’t fond of the movie, especially Russell Crowe’s Javert), Phantom of the Opera, and Spamalot (probably not as wide appealing enough to pursue, sadly).

ModeratorSomething I remembered. This episode is written by Scott Nimerfro and Tze Chun. Scott’s only co-written “Breaking Glass” so far, and this is Tze’s first episode period. If these sneak peeks are any indication for how the rest of the episode will play out, perhaps they’ll be my new favorite writers. At the very least, we’re getting fresh writers for this one, so this should be interesting.

ModeratorPeter Pan Live underperformed compared to last year’s Sound of Music Live:
It only scored a 2.3 compared to Sound of Music’s 4.6. Granted, it still probably did well enough for NBC to try a musical next year, but this was clearly not the big hit they expected.

ModeratorPoM said the other day that this should have been the 2 hour long episode instead of 408. I can see why. There’s a lot of potential here that could have spread to 2 hours, but alas.
