Next someone will say he’s the one who assassinated JFK. He had 3 names and his surname was Booth as well.

I still think there is no chance that August is Henry’s father. I don’t think that would make sense unless he has magically changed how he looks. Emma would not have needed to be told by Regina to look into him if she knew him if she knew who he was.
Emma is probably the most distrusting person in Storybrooke. Yet she trusted him after one meeting. Why if not? I can probably come up with a good idea why Emma doesn’t recognise August as… someone else in a couple of days.
mujieParticipantOk, let’s entertain the idea that August is Pinnocchio, then. When Jiminy Cricket came to our world, he returned to his original form, (i.e. human). If Pinnocchio’s original form was a puppet, he would be a puppet in this world (assuming it’s not Rumplestiltskin who turned him into a human, which I doubt, because did anything really go on? So no one argue about Gepatto’s parents!). So I believe he wasn’t a puppet at the beginning.

But people don’t change that much. I still look like the same me now at 31 that i did at 21. I don’t look like a different person. And that is about the age we are talking about here. You don’t change that much.
And you are right. Emma may have lied about everything she said about Henry’s father except for one thing. She is angry at him. He did something that made her not want Henry to know him. I think that, of all that she said, is true. And i think that the only way she would be that angry is that she knew him well. They had a relationship of some kind. Whether he was married to someone else or they just went out for awhile, who knows, but i think she knew him well enough that she is still that angry with him.
Emma seems to trust August a lot, even though she met him, what 2-3 times? She seemed to be annoyed at him for “betraying” Mary Margeret, which means she already trusted him not to betray her. That impression doesn’t come from just 3 meetings. Especially such “cryptic” meetings.
mujieParticipantSpoiler for episode 20?:
ONCE UPON A TIME: The Stranger 1×20
Postby Mays ยป Mon Apr 09, 2012 6:39 pm
AUGUST TRIES TO ENLIGHTEN EMMA ON WAYS SHE CAN BEAT REGINA AND
POSSIBLY TAKE CUSTODY OF HENRY, AND GEPPETTO AGREES TO A PLAN TO
SAVE SNOW WHITE AND PRINCE CHARMING'S DAUGHTER — WITH A PROVISO
THAT COULD ALSO SAVE HIS OWN SON — ON ABC'S “ONCE UPON A TIME”“The Stranger” – August promises to enlighten Emma and take her on a journey that will show her how she can beat Regina, and possibly take custody of Henry; and with Mary Margaret returning to work, Regina puts a plan in motion to seduce David. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, with the Evil Queen's curse about to strike, Geppetto agrees to a plan that will save Snow White and Prince Charming's daughter, but with a proviso that could also save his own son, on “Once Upon a Time,”
mujieParticipantIt’s one of the things that makes him so terrifying.

@mujie I think the curse just affects people differently. The whole point of it is to take away everyone’s happy endings, and everyone’s happy ending is different.
Why wouldn’t the Wizard of Oz remember who he was? Regina remembers because she enacted the curse. Jefferson remembers because if he didn’t he’d be another rich, single guy living it up in a huge house. Rumple/Gold remembers because if he didn’t he’d also be another mean, rich guy living it up from “owning” the town. With their memories, they’re all just as miserable as everyone else. That could be part of the Wizard’s curse: To remember everything and not be able to find his own way home. It could be the reason he just came to town out of nowhere.
Regina wanted to control everything. The Dark Curse takes the bidding of that who enacts it. Yet why would Regina really want to put Oz through that? Why would she do that to Oz? I’d think it more likely to do that to the Queen of Hearts. The rules of Storybrooke seem to be that you keep your last personality from your previous life. The Mad Hatter was lost, and he stayed lost, 8 episodes after August appeared. He was still in Storybrooke. If August was lost, he would stay lost.
mujieParticipantHas anyone ever noticed that Rumplestiltskin always tells the truth?
mujieParticipantWhen did they say this?
Also, we know next to nothing about Henry’s dad. For all we know, everything Emma said to Henry was a lie. Emma was 18 when she had Henry. People change a lot from those years. She would notice the resemblence if she knew, but still… Episode 9, 2 big plots:
1. No one enters or leaves Storybrooke. August enters.
2. Henry’s father. Parents. August enters.
