ParticipantThat’s why, Eala, I have a section in my meta called ‘Unhealthy True Love’, followed by ‘Destructive True Love’, which I often confuse because both speak of similar themes. But SwanFire definitely goes under both.
What I don’t understand about the pain is healthy thing, when it comes to a different pairing, like Rumbelle, people hate that stuff. Like the constant separation. There’s a lot of pain there too when it comes to that but somehow, when it relates to SwanFire, it’s seen as something that’ll make their relationship stronger. I don’t understand the logic here.
I’m a Rumbelle ‘shipper too and I don’t like it when they’re separated either but I also know, the obstacles in that relationship is a part of the story. Jane Espenson even said, there are obstacles in romance. That’s true, otherwise, you would not even have a story but pain, in general, is not something that should be romanticized at all.
Pain doesn’t give you happy, fluffy feelings. It only makes you feel worse. People saying it’s good for you, are wrong.
And you’re right, Eala. Emma can’t just wipe that pain away and everything will be perfect. She doesn’t work that way.
It takes time for her to build relationships with people, especially trust. For the relationships part, look back at season one and her relationship with Henry and Mary Margaret. It took Emma a full season to accept that she wanted to be Henry’s mother and only said ‘I love you’ in the finale, and it took a long time to become close to Mary Margaret and accept her as a friend and really care about her before accepting her as family.
The awesome thing about Emma in the beginning part of 3A, is seeing her beginning to take baby steps towards trusting Hook in Neverland. Emma thinks it would be good to have Neal in Henry’s life, for him, but she it’s still painful for her to accept Neal back into her life romantically. That’s why she said it would be easier for her, if he were dead so then at least, she could move on and find happiness again. That was the whole point of her speech and Hook’s love confession before that. It was about moving on from your first love.
FYI, I don’t think the whole time Hook was on his vengeance kick, that he felt good about himself and what he was doing. He was in constant pain because he lost his love. Same thing can be said for Regina after she lost her true love, Daniel. So yeah, pain is NOT a happy thing.

ParticipantSeason One: Skin Deep, of course. Red-Handed, probably as second and 7:15 a.m.
Season two: Lady of the Lake, since it’s the first Once episode that made me cry. Followed by Tallahassee.
Season three: I’d take all of 3A, but probably Good Form and Going Home.

ParticipantJoss Whedon does the same thing with stuff he works on. He keeps close ties with actors he’s worked with and they keep working with him. If you saw Much Ado About Nothing, all of those actors have worked previously with Joss Whedon at some point in their career.

ParticipantIt’s really nice to see these close-ups shots, so we can see more detail on the costumes. I thought Regina’s costume looks weird at first, from the original awful promo we got but it looks beautiful too.

[x] they’re really going to have beautiful babies together one day. I can already see a perfect blend of them, mostly for a girl.
