Ratings news is in for episode 6×07 “Heartless” Demo: 1.1 Live Eyeballs: 3.53 million This is a .2 increase from last week.

wow, I did not expect that. Last episode was so boring! Then again, the promo for this ep was a amazing, enough to make inconsistent viewers tune in to see what the EQ had planned for Snowing.

I have a horrible feeling that something retcon-y is about to occur. Like there is a way to bring Robin back from the dead/or bring him back from a point in time in EF/yank his reflection or image out of a mirror and give it 3D animation.  And I think it is the EQ who wants Robin back. After all, it was the EQ in Regina who wanted to throttle Hook to death out of jealousy in season 5. Snowing’s hearts might be one of several items/ingredients needed to do it. Maybe one of the other ingredients is the dragon’s heart.

Then again, unless the EQ has done some research post separation, Regina should have figured out what EQ is up to by now if bringing back Robin was her End Game, because Regina would also know how to do it.

    Intriguing, and confusing!

Destiny has always been a force in this show but so has free will.

I agree. Mostly free will is given reign, but certain things seem predestined – true loves getting together for example, or Merlin’s prophecies. My theory is that this is related to the prophecy of a boy being Rumple’s undoing. That was never resolved, and it could well be Morfetus. So this could be the fate Rumple is trying to cleave himself from.

    Great idea!

First True Love Sapling: to be mentioned at the last minute by the Blue Fairy. I guess this sapling extinguishes the effects of whatever is in the vial, or perhaps redirects it.

Regina uses the EQ and Rumple’s romance against them? Please be more interesting than simply threatening to tell Belle…pretty please.

So it just not just one manipulating the other? I think we are in for more scenes of EQ and Rumple’s snog-fests. Perhaps worse. *twitch**shudder**puke*.

Praying that Zelena’s friendly advice is not ”Go on, give Rumple a chance. Even the Ultimate DO can love truly, and he will truly love your son. Perhaps even the baby can motivate Rumple to change! After all, Regina!”

You know for an AU about the Dark Curse not being cast, Baby!Emma sure is dressed like someone from our world…?

    Quote

Good point. Hope it is not her Once costume, just her normal clothes! (Doubt it, though). Perhaps Emma dreams of the original reality in the new reality (well the original reality is not quite original due to Emma’s intervention but you get what I mean).

    REACTION SUMMARY:

What the flip did I just watch? Until now, season 6 had been bumping along at 7/10 for me. But after this episode, my hopes for this show (or at least this season) sunk along with the sheers.

    3/10

    DETAIL

    Warning: Scathing review.

    LIKES

-The gang rescued Archie. That plot point was not neglected.

    -Henry’s acting is improving.

-Generally another amazing performance from Lana, except the Southern accent. This was out of place and just gross.

-The question over whether EQ loves Henry was clearly answered via her manipulation tactics. The answer is obviously: no.

    DISLIKES

-Eeeeeewwwwww!!!! Did EQ and Rumple really have to go there? The attraction was NEVER there between them until this season. Does the EQ care that he had already kissed her mother and her sister (perhaps more?). And Rumple, how many Mills women do you want? I think we can guess who Robin will have a fling with when she grows up. Keep it in the family!

And really, there is enough tension/drama between Belle and Rumple right now. This fling really isn’t needed.

Moreover, it is taking a great deal of restraint for me not to tweet Lana and suggest to her to leave the show RIGHT NOW, to jump the ship before it sinks completely and protect her reputation as an actress. (Actually, I wanted to do it when we found out that EQ had planned to kill Marian, but anyway none of my business so…).

-Another boring backstory (and performance) for Hook.

-Liam v.2 got over Hook’s betrayal waaaay too fast.

    – Henry being dropped into the water and then suddenly appearing with not a drop of water dripping off his suit ROFL.

-BELLE (and SNOW). Rumple doesn’t need to be a part of the baby’s life. Seriously, wow. He is an abusive piece of dung who is not going to change in Belle’s lifetime because (a) he loves his power so much that he became the Ultimate! Dark One (b) I can imagine it is even harder to give up the darkness now that he is drawn in by all the Dark Magic of all the previous Dark Ones (c) he has made nowhere near the amount of effort Regina has made to change, either even before the the Ultimate DO plot. Belle, be sensible. Keep both yourself and the baby well away from Rumple. Rumple does not have rights to the baby just because he is the genetic father. And the baby does not need his DO influence.

(And when are the writers actually going to do something with this Ultimate DO plot point anyway?).

-The Dark Curse not being as far-reaching as previously thought.

-The scene with Aladdin and Emma at the town line. Both actors where speaking too fast while mumbling, and I had to use English subs despite being a native speaker of English. The actors both have fast-talking, mumbling habits, and they should not be in scene together until it is fixed.

-Aladdin’s accent continues to grate. For the past two episodes, I have only caught about 20% of what he has said. I am a Brit, so I would say that is accent is a mix of Australian and Cockney, yet I don’t understand him in the slightest.

-Henry all of a sudden having issues with Hook. And you’d think his murderous past would be more of an issue than choice in breakfast, but nope…!

    CONFUSIONS: EPISODE

Does anybody know exactly what Rumple’s plans are with the sheers? His explanation was very convoluted.

    CONFUSION: SEASON

Shouldn’t some of Regina’s magic be light magic now that EQ has been separated from her?

-The serum. Had the formula changed? The first time it is made, it turns Jekyll into Hyde. Later, it splits them and splits EQ from Regina. If this is the case, then I would like to have seen confirmation that the serum formula had changed. Was it mentioned at the end of 5B? I can’t remember. Could someone remind me?

This is shown and explained in depth in “An Untold Story”. Jekyll added a plant to the serum, so that it would split him from Hyde.

Thank you for clearing that up! I often forget a lot of details with the long gap between seasons.

Maybe the Land of Untold Stories resulted from some sort of test of the Dark Curse? Would definitely explain a few things.

    Quote

Yes, I have also been wondering if the Dark Curse comes from this Land, or at least has the same origin as it. But then I remembered that the writers are not about to develop their mythology and world building further, only ruin it. So I guess it is just a coincidence ;(

Do we think that the EQ could rip out Regina’s heart and/or use it in her own body?

    Quote

Ooh, interesting! Or vice versa. Regina dies, and they put whatever heart the EQ is running on (the Dragon’s -? In which case why is she still so evil?) back into Regina and in so doing transfer the EQ;s soul with it?

I still think Newton’s third law will play some kind of role in the solution to this conundrum. Maybe it will involve hearts, maybe it won’t.

I ask this every episode, lately, but is there any hope for Rumbelle? What did you guys make of Rumple’s declaration that Belle would come back to him, if not out of love than necessity and that Belle needs him even if she can’t admit it. Is anyone else having some queasy feelings over this ship? If Belle were to go back and live as his wife again, does that work for you? Does that work for the story?

    Quote

It would never work for me. This ship sailed along time ago and should never come back. His remarks are the epitome of control and narcissism.

What the writers need to do is

    a) never have the two of them together again. And to make this fit their world building, they need to:

b)show that True Love relationships can come to an end if one of the people in the TL relationship changes (e.g. becoming the Ultimate Dark One, rather than just being the Dark One), or at least show the exceptional circumstances in which TL between two people can end.
