My question is, now that the fail safe has been destroyed, does that mean Maleficent’s remaining “essence” is now gone?

Went back to watch and get the exact quote.
“There’s a powerful spell here that sustains her in whatever form she’s in.”

Sounds like the spell is on the place, not necessarily on Maleficent herself. So even if GOAT tased her to save Hook, perhaps that wouldn’t finish her off? They probably never want to re-visit the subject of the taser again anyway, so I don’t think it’d be mentioned at all if they wanted to bring her back into the storyline. They’d probably just leave it be that she was still in that whatever form that Hook fought, which means she’s never been dead.

Phee, you don’t realize that spring in the Northeast is still winter 😛 . Major snowstorms can still happen and often do.

LOL I’d been there the previous year too and it was lovely. My second visit just so happened to be the most horrid “spring” on record. We had to wear several layers, it rained, and much of the city was covered with fog.

I’ve been getting the feeling that CS fans fandom wide now believe that Neal is totally out of the picture for Emma.

Which is one of those, “they must be watching a different show” moments for me, because I’ve seen nothing to suggest that Neal’s not in with a chance. If anything, I think they’ve been writing the opposite of that. Everyone will interpret things as they wish though. Hopefully the fandom won’t tear itself apart before we get to see what actually happens. Is it March yet?!

but it hurts my heart to hear people talk about what a horrible person Neal is.

Same. Thankfully there are also people out there who defend him, but it sometimes gets me legit angry to see some of the things that people say about Neal. Blaming the victim, inventing character traits that don’t exist, ignoring subtleties in MRJ’s portrayal, twisting dialogue. It bums me out.

All I see even on the Rumbelle thread is CS stuff. I don’t know why they insist on tagging it “Rumbelle”. That was my little haven to induldge in Rumbelle glory but even that is getting poisoned for me.

Most of the big ships have CS suggested as a related tag on tumblr, because of all their unnecessary tagging. Apparently it’s even happened for ship tags for couples that are on completely different shows as well. *sigh*

Let’s assume Hook’s mission is to get Emma to remember her past and come save her family, meaning the Charmings.

If you were her family, mother or father, would you want your daughter to leave her happy life behind? Would you put your daughter and grandson’s life in peril to help you? If you had watched your grandson go through the trauma of Neverland, would you want him to come back knowing there is danger lurking in the form of WWW?

If you we’re Hook, or Neal, would you ask Emma and Henry to leave their happy life to come help you? I’m sure they’ve discussed the pros and cons.

Definitely a situation with pros and cons. I’ve been wondering how long they’ve been back in SB before Hook ends up in NYC. Have they been there for a while, but have resisted reaching out to Emma and Henry for those reasons you mentioned? If so, what’s happened now that they’ve changed their minds and are now going after her? Or have they only just arrived in SB and whatever traumatic event caused it is making them reach out to Emma immediately, despite the fact it would upset the life she’s built with Henry?

This leads me to believe that it’s Emma’s entire family who’s in trouble, meaning Emma and Henry are also in danger.

    Interesting thought, could well be.

And Neal checking on Emma after the spell threw her back. And Neal subtly moving behind Emma as she and Regina eclipsed the moon. He’s got her back.

I LOVED how he got up and moved behind them like that. Such a small gesture, but it was so significant. If this eclipse spell was gonna throw her back like the barrier spell did, he was gonna be there to catch her, because he’s got her back.

i thought id share this song i wrote keep the swanfire faith they are destined.. it may hurt atm but love hurts.. if it was easy, everyone would have it :p

Great lyrics! And yes, Snow’s words were wise, if it was easy…

Favorite moment from 3.7- Emma excited to retrieve Neal’s star map.

Loved that because she was like, “Yes, I can help you, let’s you and me be a team again!”

    YES!!!

Forgot that was from 308. And Emma’s face in the background listening to Neal make sure Rumple does the right thing :)

Emma’s face was great in that scene. Neal was great in that scene. I love that scene!

It is sad to think about Emma being reset to thinking of Neal as just a bad guy when this season did so much to put him in a more positive light in her eyes.

It’s seriously sad, but I’m interested to see how it will impact her when she remembers, which I’m guessing will be by the end of 312 because I can’t see them dragging out amnesiac Emma and Henry for longer than that. We don’t know how her new memories of having kept Henry could influence how she feels about Neal in her amnesiac state. I’d think that a big part of her would still be angry at him, but at the same time, maybe there’s a different type of sadness as well, because she’s had moments where she’s wished that all three of them could have been together. If so, then when she remembers, and realises that all three of them CAN be together after all, that might be something that helps in their reconciliation.

(Boston where it’s freaking freezing right now, LOL)

Jealous because I love Boston! Last time I was there it was supposed to be spring, but it was freezing. 😆

I don’t think Maleficent is dead. I don’t care what they say. Regina’s spell should have kept her alive v_v plus No Body = No Death!

They left the possibility open because they didn’t show how Hook actually escaped her. If GOAT tased her, that should have finished her off, but we dunno that that happened. If she’s still alive in whatever form down there, I’d say she should have been taken back to FTL and restored to her former self. But if SB gets reinstated, would she go back to dwelling in whatever form in the basement again? Guess that wouldn’t really matter if there’s now potential for Maleficent flashbacks from the missing year in FTL.

If he’s Henry Gale, I’d guess he might be Dorothy’s son, who she named after her Uncle Henry.

If he’s also someone who Emma is close friends with in present day, then he might be someone that our Henry would refer to as “Uncle Henry”.

It could be a good fit if the son of Dorothy Gale and the daughter of Snow and Charming were drawn together somehow in our world. If he’s heard stories from his mother about her adventures in Oz, then he could be understanding if Emma goes to him to discuss the crazy pirate man who is trying to tell her about the fairytale characters.

Watching Wizard of Oz last night, I couldn’t get over how Rebecca Mader’s hair is such a perfect match for Glinda’s. They could have had her dye it, but they didn’t. So was her natural hair colour a factor in what made them want her specifically for this role? Was there actually just ONE witch in Oz in the Onciverse, and she started out as sweet Glinda, then became the WW? Or would that be too drastic of a character mashup?

Also, Miss Gulch and WWW had Toto specifically on their hit list (Gulch was gonna take him to be put down, and WWW said she’s gonna get Dorothy and her little dog too), which made me wonder again if we might get some Cruella mashed into our WW.

Having said that, I’d hate to see them miss an opportunity like this to bring back Mal.

I’ve heard that True Blood is wrapping up, so Kristen would likely be available to appear, but it’s been so long since we got a real Maleficent appearance, I’ve gotta wonder if they’d have any plans to bring her back in a significant way at all. I’d love it to happen, just don’t wanna get my hopes up too much.

Just an afterthought regarding Reggie no longer having family. Have we determined that Henry Sr. was in fact King Georges younger brother?

Not a chance IMO. They made a point of casting actors with Latin blood to play Xavier and Henry Sr, so Alan Dale doesn’t fit in that family, (unless he married into it).

I don’t think Snow would have already had the baby. If so, they’d have to keep trying to cover Ginny’s bump, which will get harder to do very rapidly, (you could already tell she’s pregnant in the last few eps). Makes more sense IMO that Snow will be heavily pregnant in present day, so they can just let the bump hang out when she’s in regular clothing in SB, (can hide it with her cape easy enough for FTL flashbacks if necessary). TV time in present day will move slower than real life bump time, but it should be close enough that they can have Snow give birth around the same time Ginny does.

I don’t think Neal would be in NYC and just waiting for Hook to bring Emma to him. No way would Neal risk putting his chance at reuniting with Emma and his son in Hook’s hand. Especially as Hook is the “love rival”. Were it Snowing or Rumbelle or any of the dwarves or Regina, then I could see Neal maybe stepping back a bit but not with Hook.

But I think Neal knows that any interaction he has with Emma before she gets her memories back isn’t going to go well. She wouldn’t listen to him because she no longer remembers the whole Pinocchio deal. She won’t remember Manhattan or Second Star to the Right or Ariel or Going Home. She’s back to season one mentality where she was lying to Henry because she thought Neal was a bad guy.

And Neal and Hook have had a year together with no Emma. Maybe they’ve actually…talked about stuff. Maybe they’ve come to an understanding that isn’t mind trickery or teenage boy angst.

If there hasn’t been some sort of CaptainFire progression in the year they’ve spent without Emma, then I will be seriously disappointed. I actually think that might be part of why Hook tried the kiss, because having spent that time with Neal, he’s probably more aware of how deep their connection and their relationship is, so maybe he’s a bit worried about Emma maybe feeling the same way about Neal, so he tried the kiss because if it worked, then he wouldn’t have to worry so much.

Even if he and Neal have improved their relationship over the past year, he was still willing to risk hurting the guy by kissing Emma. Playing along but really looking out for his own interests like that would be in character for him, so I wouldn’t mind if that’s how it plays out.

I still think Neal’s a good candidate for being on the gurney in the promo. What male character do Robin, Hook and Charming all have in common? Neal. It would be believable if all four of them had been working together on something, and Neal was injured in the process, so the other three rushed him to the hospital. And Hook told Emma that her family was in trouble, and Neal is her family by virtue of being Henry’s father. Maybe Neal ends up in a critical condition, like David Nolan 2.0, and none of them want Neal to stay that way, and knowing how Snow woke Charming up by reading him their story, maybe they think that Emma could do something similar for Neal. And if Neal and Hook are closer these days, he’ll be willing to help in any plan to save him, even if it means reuniting him with Emma. Neal being stuck in hospital could explain why MRJ hasn’t been seen out and about shooting, because all his scenes would be interior stuff. It’s all speculation right now of course, I’m just saying, it could add up nicely if Neal was the one on that gurney.

Wizard of Oz was on here tonight and of course I was watching it with a suspicious eye in case there was anything that could potentially be applied to OUAT. And Dorothy sure does mention home a lot. Home this, and home that, and I wanna go home, and no place like home. And I started to wonder, if they do Oz stuff in 3B, and if that includes Dorothy’s story and all the stuff about finding a way home, I wonder if that could perhaps bode well for them continuing that theme with SF reuniting.
