His comments about SQ being a fanon ship were fine, and any backlash he got from saying that was totally uncalled for.

I think the thing that could have potentially gotten him into trouble with the powers that be is that he kept talking and mentioned how SQ gets discussed amongst the cast, and he actually name checked JMo and Lana, saying that they were aware of how nasty some SQers can be. People took it as him generalising that the whole of SQ Nation is hated and gossiped about by the cast, including JMo and Lana themselves, which is a contradiction of what they’ve said previously about loving the SQers, (and even if it’s true and the bad apple SQers do get discussed amongst the cast, it’s really bad PR to make that public knowledge), which is what led to both actresses tweeting that he didn’t speak for them. He also implied that as someone who is on the show, he has inside knowledge of future storylines, which Adam later refuted. I think those are the things that could have put his job in jeopardy. When you imply something that your boss himself has to do damage control for, and when one of the main stars of your show tweets you that she “resents” how your actions have affected her…that’s not necessarily conducive to job security.

I don’t think he intended to say anything that was out of line or malicious. From what I’ve seen, he seems to be a lovely, lighthearted kinda person. The whole situation escalated really quickly, and he got upset, and overwhelmed, and said stuff he probably shouldn’t have. That happens to everyone. It’s just unfortunate that in this case he did it very publicly and it involved high profile people, so maybe his slip up can’t be as easily brushed under the rug. They may deem it necessary to fire him as damage control, to prove to the SQ fanbase in particular that those involved in the show aren’t against them. It would be really sad if someone actually losing their job resulted from an innocent comment about a ship.

Fans just need to STOP ASKING actors if they ship stuff, and actors need to NOT REPLY to those questions.

I saw some tumblr posts recently that said Michael had taken the thing about playing Happy on OUAT out of his bio line on Twitter. Just went to check, and his background which used to be an image of him as Happy, with the Disney Happy, is gone. I do have a horrible feeling that he might have been fired over the whole mess. 🙁

I love that “Like where, Neverland?” one! Gotta pass through the dark island before you can go home!

In hindsight, I love that’s he’s all, “I’m serious, we could do this,” because they totally DID do NL. They faced it and they conquered it. Together. Foreshadowing FTW. Now let’s just get to that bit about building a home together.

But if it was as simple as stabbing Malcolm with the dagger for him to lose the power, why would Rumple feel the need to stab himself and commit suicide, thus taking them both into oblivion? I think this is likely to be simply due to Malcolm being in pain enough that he could not sustain the magic that was keeping him young anymore.

Like Cinders said, there was the whole thing where if Rumple killed Pan, he’d die himself. I do hope we get some clarification on the why of that, but I don’t really think it’s necessary to understand the reasoning behind it in order to accept that Malcolm would be dead. With the Shadow gone *poof*, and then Pan’s magic seeming to have *poofed* away in that cloud of black smoke when he became Malcolm again, I think that Malcolm was just stuck as a mortal man with a knife going right through him, and that’s just not surviveable. It was the Shadow that bestowed Pan with his youth and magic, so with the Shadow gone, there’s no way for Malcolm to get it back, even if he did survive the stabbing.

Look, maybe I’m just grasping at straws, but with Pan having been such a rich villain with a complex relationship with all the main cast, especially Rumplestiltskin, and the titular character in A & E’s favorite tale, I think it’s possible that they believe they can still do so much more with him, so long as he doesn’t keep that Big Bad aura of unstoppable force that the gang must destroy or it’ll be doom for everyone. In that sense, his Class A defeat in “Going Home” would work similarly to the one Angelus had in Buffy’s season 2 finale “Becoming”: he’d still be regarded as a threat in his later appearances, just not as the main one of the storyline.

I’m not that familiar with Buffy, (only seen random eps from time to time), so dunno how it played out on that show, but I wouldn’t want a watered down version of Pan. They built him up to be a BIG bad, and then they had him die in a seriously dramatic way, still staying his horrible self to his dying breath, (I don’t think anyone believed he was being sincere in those final Malcolm moments), and I think that was a fitting end for him. Like I said in the previous paragraph, I don’t even know that Malcolm could get the Pan powers back with the Shadow now gone as well, so I doubt that they even could logically reinstate him to his Pan self.

One other reason why I think Malcolm is 100% dead is that having to do that was some karmic retribution for Rumple having put Regina in the position where she’d had to kill her father too. If they allow Malcolm to survive, it lessens the impact of Rumple’s action of having had to kill him.

This i had the most amazing dream ever this morning prob why i stayed in bed so long.. Basucally the WWW had neal held captive in Regina’s castle, in the same cell that Charming was in and she keeps him captive even as they go to SB where Neal is kept in the prison there… there was this big scene where the WWW says “There’s a new sherriff in town.” it was amazing ha… then later she sends lightening bolts from her hands into neals chest to try get him to talk about everybody but he won’t say anything.. then emma comes but he thinks its a vision by WWW an hes all ive lived over 300 yrs with a broken heart even the thing that broke it most wont break me enough to tell you about Regina or anybody from this town.” I’m turning it into a fanfiction so wont tell you the rest hehe but id expect nothing less of neal or the writers

Would love to read this fic when it’s done!

The writers keep putting in subtle clues tying Emma and Neal, so I am hoping that there is going to be more to come to show why Emma would think Neal is “it” for her the way he’s obviously been shown to feel for her. Emma right now is the one who’s going on a bit of a journey and quest of self-discovery to be sure about what she wants out of life. Her fake memories and the process of believing again to recover and merge the old ones might just give her enough perspective to truly appreciate Neal ‘s side of things.

In addition to her now having more understanding of his side of things, I wonder how the memories of having kept Henry, and the actual year they’ve had together, might impact on how she views Neal. Over that year, has she had moments where she’d look at Henry and be reminded of Neal, maybe even wistfully daydreamed, “If only it had have worked out and we were still together, all three of us.” She now has a whole new sense of family, of what it’s like to belong with someone, and to actually have them there with you. Could that be enough of a push to get her to go for it and embrace the good moments with Neal in the future?

Favorite SF moment from 304? It’s really hard cause it’s one of my top episodes for S3 but I guess the most obvious choice is Emma declaring that she never once stopped loving Neal to her parents. Such a big step for her!

I loved that moment too because it was so raw for her to admit something so personal to anyone. She really has only said “I love you” to two people on the show so those aren’t words she throws around that easily. If this was the right episode (which I’m not 100% sure about right now), I also liked the part where Neal found their campsite and when he said Emma’s name. That was so beautiful and he smiled so sweetly knowing immediately that she had been there. It was like a brief flicker of light on his face after all the drama with Rumple and the fear over Henry’s safety. :)

Emma’s confession to her parents was major. My heart hurts just thinking about it. That look on her face, the tears, the raw emotion. She feels SO deeply for Neal. And that moment at the campfire when he says her name, it’s only a really brief moment, but there’s so much hope in his expression and his voice. That ep was actually a nice setup for how things stand at the town line scene. Emma’s still an emo mess, thinking there’s no chance for them to sort out their stuff, and he’s there being quietly confident and hopeful for their future.

My head canon for that scene involves him coming back into the USA because he wants to find Emma after her 11 months in jail are over, but after he goes to Phoenix to try to find her, he ends up getting arrested for the watches anyway and spends some time in prison dealing with inmates who aren’t too kind to him. After he gets out (two years later…), he goes to Tallahassee hoping to find her there but he doesn’t because the two years she spent there were just ending as he was arriving to the area so fate, of course, has intervened yet again and kept them apart. That’s when he finally gives up looking for her and starts trying to figure out his life and eventually finds himself living and working in NYC. *sigh* 🙁

    Heartbreaking headcanon accepted!

and also how Emma said, “home” like she did in “Tallahassee.” Seeing Neal’s cave and realizing he was once a Lost Boy like she was a lost girl gave Emma newfound empathy for Neal. That realization preceded her tearful confession to he parents that she’d never stopped loving Neal. It made me hopeful that the way they said these simple little words were really little hints that Emma and Neal are meant to be together in the end.

They’re “almost home,” and one day they WILL get there. One of the things I loved about the NL arc was that it allowed Emma to have these new insights into Neal’s life, and come to new realisations about who he is, and how similar they are.

But then they’d have to cocoon a solid reasoning for bringing back Rumple without doing the same to Malcolm/Pan.

For me it would be enough of an explanation that Malcolm had the dagger go right through his body, in one side and out the other, then Rumple twisted it. Malcolm would have bled out pretty quickly with an injury like that. The fact he changed back into Malcolm suggests that his magic left him. So he was a mortal man with a major wound, and that equals dead.

Rumple is a different, more complicated, potential loop-hole containing case, because his fate was tied up with the Dark One Dagger being used, and the fact that he was sacrificing himself to save others.
