I find it interesting that other people are saying that this last Once WL paralleled CS and that Cylice ties in more with their ship. I guess that’s what happens when you watch through shipping goggles. 🙂 Each ship sees an episode but then sees the same events as paralleling their own ship.

I’ve seen the ep now, and saw ALL THE SF parallels. That’s some classic love story elements being used in both stories, and they’re classic love story elements that get re-used time and again for a reason, because they’re effective. I’m actually, genuinely curious as to what CS shippers saw in that ep. Guess this is another one of those cases where I feel like they must be watching an entirely different show to me.

*sidenote* Grrr. I can’t seem to ever quote spoilers.

Join the club. I gave up on trying to quote spoilers because it never seems to work for me no matter how I try to do it.

That was a great way to end the ep, going into the mid-season break. The long wait to find out where he ends up is gonna kill me, but it was a cool ending.

Water connects worlds, so I reckon he could end up just about anywhere. Maybe a curious mermaid who collects random treasures will find him. 😉 (I know we haven’t heard anything to even remotely suggest that Ariel’s gonna be a crossover character, I’m just saying, it’d be fun.)

    My own headcanon:

–Cyrus was born in Agrabah a long time ago to Jasmine and Aladdin. He was their only son and grew up loved in the palace. (making him Jafar’s ancestor)

–One day Aladdin found the Cave of Wonders and the bottle. Even though he had everything he could ever want, Aladdin spent his first two wishes

–The price of the second wish was that his wife Jasmine fell very ill.

–Aladdin, grieving, wishes that Jasmine would live and be healthy again

–Jasmine lived but the price of the wish was that their son was a genie inside the bottle.

Interesting theory, I kinda like it. I was thinking though that perhaps it was Cyrus’ mother who made a wish, attempting to protect her son from something, and the result was that he ended up in the bottle. That could still work in somehow if his parents were Jasmine and Aladdin. I’ll have to ponder this some more.

If she really loved him she would try to fix there relationship the good old fashioned way. By PROVING that she regrets the choice she made and showing him that she does love him and wants him. Love is true, its not magic

This. I did feel bad for her when she was so clearly showing how much she wished she could just change history, because she hates that she left him and hurt him and lost him, but just changing history is not the right way to go about getting him back. It’d bug me the same way it bugged me when they turned back the clock on August. You make choices, and you live and learn from them. Changing history to erase your big mistake is a cop out.

Wonder if that means we’ll meet his mother? Wonder if she is/was someone significant?

Those clothes that Cylice are wearing in SB, is it just me or do they look more Victorian England-ish, rather than Wonderland-ish?

That Sean and Lana pic is super cute. Really can’t wait for their characters to share screentime.

is that pub at the end the same pub emma and neal met in during Manhatten ep?

Hard to say for sure, but maybe?

Firstly: Happy Birthday, Heather! (My BFF’s b’day is 12/12 too. Small world.)

Secondly: That SF Family poster is fabulous!

Emma has trust issues. How could she ever trust Hook when he says one thing and then completely does another?

THIS! I think this is what her reaction to, and even asking about Tink and Hook was about. Many people have read it as jealousy, but I didn’t get that at all. A couple of days ago, the guy looked her in the eye, confessed his love, and said he was gonna honestly, without trickery, win her heart once they were back in SB. Now they’re back in SB…and he’s trying to make out like he’s getting with Tink less than 24 hours later? IMO, the only reason Emma bothered to ask the question is because if he and Tink WERE, then that was proving that what he’d said to her on the island was false. Given Tink’s reaction, Emma knows that Hook was actually LYING in trying to make her think that there WAS something happening. Which, frankly, probably makes him look worse than if he actually had just had a quickie with Tink, because it proves that he’s blatantly trying to manipulate Emma’s emotions, which completely contradicts what he said to her in NL. Untrustworthy Pirate is untrustworthy.

Hook feels Swanfire doesn’t have chance, he is going to win no matter what just because the simple fact he is Hook and he has had many mens wives. So if Hook, “Wins Emma” in the second half of season 3 the forecast for Swanfire is looking pretty good. If Neal leans back from Emma, not move on just leans back and resigns that just being apart of her and Henry’s life would mean the world to him, forecast for Swanfire is looking pretty good.

Basically, whatever might happen in the next ep that on the surface looks like bad news, the forecast for SF is actually still looking pretty good. This ship sails itself. 😉

Also I wonder about Hook, he has strong feelings for her, but is he in love with her or is he in love with the chase.

I think that it’s the first time since Milah that he’s felt something for a woman, and that’s a long time, and his emotions surrounding Milah are seriously deeply rooted, so when Emma came along and he felt an emotional shift, he instantly interpreted that as loving her. And the last time he loved and lost, it tore him up for centuries, so the thought of having love again with Emma, and of having competition for her, it’s turned him into a hot, desperate mess. My hope is that after he hits rock bottom, he realises that he mis-interpreted his own feelings for Emma, and having had that experience, the next time he falls in love, he’ll be more aware, and able to handle the situation better, and it’ll be real.

It is about encouraging her with a push yes, the way a parent pushes on a bike ride. Where the child steers is up to the child, but the parent has to get the child moving and past the fear of falling. That is what I think the Charmings were saying, and if they pointed her down a path they thought looked safe, that’s because they love her, because what parent is going to push a child towards something they think would lead to heartbreak and pain?

YES!! (You made so many other wonderful points as well, I seriously could have quoted that post about 10 times.) Some of the crap that Snowing are getting right now, when all they wanna do is be there to help their daughter. That family unit is finally making a little bit of progress with the parent/child dynamic, they’re figuring out their place, and how they can be parents to Emma in a way she can accept. And they’re getting hated for it. *throws up hands in frustration*

    HOLY PARALLELS CYLICE/SWANFIRE

I need to get cracking and download the new ep by the sounds of it.

Regina : “I gave the real Henry over the flying monkeys of Oz in exchange for a changling baby. That is not our sooooooooooon!”

    *cut to black screen*

Narrator: “This spring on Once Upon a Time: two mothers fight creatures from another world to find their son!”

Emma: “Why are we going down this yellow brick road?”

    Regina : “FOR HENRY”

    Narrator: “Alliance will be formed!”

Oz: “I am the great and powerful Oz!”

    Rumple : ” I’m the Dark One”

Oz: “How may I be of service?”

Narrator: “And alliance will be broken!”

Charming: “But I want to be the Tin Man!”

Hook : “Dude. No. I already got the metal prop.”

Narrator: “And a family struggles with the ultimate evil!!!!!!”

    Toto: Ruff! Ruff!

Narrator: “All that and more on the next ONCE UPON A TIME!”

    This is fantastic! 😆

    Loving everyone’s suggestions.

I’m really annoyed that a lot of things are being glossed over because everything’s fine “now” – certain things should be acknowledged even if they have been put in the past!

Agreed. There are many things for many characters that should really be addressed, but many of them we’ll likely just have to accept will be glossed over as having been dealt with off screen, because they don’t want to spend time making them relevant to the current plot, even though sometimes, you’d think they really should be relevant. Anyway, speaking specifically about the Regina killing Graham thing, that’s why I took some issue with Regina’s “no regrets” speech. She’s done some nasty crap (including murder) SINCE adopting Henry. Not ALL of her nasty actions led to her getting Henry. But they needed the dramatic “no regrets” moment with the tree, so I get why they wrote it, and the majority of viewers just straight up loved it, and Lana delivered the line like a boss, and yes it was a cool moment. But still, I was like, “Ummmm, soooo anyone you killed AFTER getting Henry, not even a smidge of regret there either?”

Actually, Phee, I just looked at the Wikipedia Entry for Brothers Grimm fairytale “The Golden Bird” and I noticed a link on the page to the very similar, almost identical, Russian fairytale “Tsarevitch Ivan, the Fire Bird, and the Gray Wolf”!
    The entry also cites:

A similar variant fairy tale of French-Canadian origin is “The Golden Phoenix” collected by Marius Barbeau, and retold by Michael Hornyansky. It follows the hero Petit Jean, the youngest son of the King, who discovers the thief of his father’s golden apple to be a golden Phoenix, a legendary bird. “

Well now, isn’t that interesting! Nice find! 🙂

Was just listening to the podcast and they mentioned that once again, when we saw the text in the Book in the most recent ep, it was The Golden Bird, and how pretty much every time we see text in the book it’s either The Golden Bird, or Snow White and Rose Red, and I know I’ve seen that discussed in the past whenever there’s been a shot of the Book text in the show, and I’ve always thought it was odd but didn’t really think too much about it. But this time my brain instantly went to A PHOENIX IS A GOLDEN BIRD! Then I got all sorts of SwanFire feels because their story is such an integral part of the over all story, so no wonder they almost always default to showing a story that references a GOLDEN BIRD, (and yes I know that that particular story isn’t actually about a phoenix, I’m just saying, the symbolism caused me to have a moment).
