I’d been thinking for a while that the Curse actually had its origin in NL, because as you say, the time standing still thing is so similar. Now that we’ve seen Rumple and Pan’s backstory though, I no longer think that Rumple possibly went to NL to get the Curse, so it probably didn’t originate there after all. That doesn’t mean that there can’t still be a connection somehow though. Maybe Rumple got some element of the Curse from someone who had been to NL, or something like that.
If there’s any truth to this theory, then Pan’s Neverland magic might actually work in Storybrooke.

Pan’s a guy who gave up his own flesh and blood child, so how could he possibly comprehend that someone could be a parent with unconditional love for a child they’re not blood related to. So that moment when Regina used her unconditional love for Henry to break free of the tree and put some serious smack down on Pan, he was completely unprepared for her. And I think now that he’s in Henry’s body, he’ll be out for some revenge against mummy dearest.
Red Queen and Jafar’s disdain for one another comes to a head, followed by a series of chaotic events. The insurmountable consequence caused by their showdown will put everyone in danger and lead to a drastic change

I get that the show like its money and maybe they are trying to sweep Neal’s poster under the rug but I need to rant. It’s wholly unfair. WHOLLY. There are a lot of fans of Nealfire and SwanFire and I’m really tired of being treated like we don’t exist and like the show isn’t at least setting up SOMETHING for SwanFire. ABC official Twitter can’t even spell his name right. It was never officially released and when asked if the “Believe in Second Chances” one WAS official, ABC flat out said no but it would be coming soon. But it didn’t. Couple this with the 308 press release which makes it seem like Neal wasn’t helping search for Henry at all (um. No. he was one of the 4 who went in search of Henry while Hook and Tink stayed behind….) and it’s all….just…frustrating.
If it’s not endgame, fine. I’ll deal. But at least acknowledge that Nealfire IS Henry’s father!!! And important to the cast! And show! And fans!
ALL OF THIS! MRJ is part of the main cast, and he’s the only one who didn’t have his character officially acknowledged with a NL poster. It’s just straight up disrespectful to the character and to the actor. *sigh*

I’ve always believed that that line was very deliberate and foreshadowing, and Schmacky’s post outlines the reasoning perfectly!

I’d been thinking they might steer clear of Rapunzel completely, just because Tangled is so recent and so widely loved. So I think them switching it up like this by making her look completely different to the Disney version is a good move. Makes me wonder how much if any they’ll borrow from the movie. I’ve gotta go re-read the original now.

My big question then is when did he come back. I really want Emma to have been born cause with both Neal and Hook there, I don’t think anyone wants a “Emma is still in the womb” thing cause that’s Twilight territory and creepy.
I do think she’s probably still in the womb, and part of why I think that is because Neal and Hook seem to be hanging out as buddies. With no Emma in existence to come between them, they were able to actually repair their relationship. We could see what could have been, if not for this juvenile triangle mess, and maybe it could give us hope that they’ll still be able to salvage a friendship in the real non-AU storyline as well, if they can just get past Emma thing.
Except that doesn’t explain why Aurora and her Prince was running scared or even with the old group. The change of clothes and what about no Emma and Henry are you saying Henry was never born?
I have no suggestions as to why they’re running scared, but I think they might be in their kingdom somewhere, when the rest of the group comes along. And perhaps they already know Snowing because Philip went to them for help when Aurora was put under a sleeping curse, because everyone knows how Charming woke Snow from a sleeping curse. And yes, I’m saying that Henry was never born. I’m guessing that the AU scenario would be at the place on the t-word around when the Curse was cast in the story we’ve already seen.
Unless AU Neal came back from NL at some point and grew up with his Papa.
That’s the way I’ve been thinking of it, yes. Bae went back to FTL, instead of coming to our world, and because he went back to FTL, there was no need for Rumple to have the Curse cast, which leads to an AU situation where everyone (including a civil Regina, and a Belle that’s not locked up) is hanging out together in FTL.
I think Blue wrote the book, or enchanted it in some way to write itself. It is after all a book of FAIRYtales. And there had to be some magic involved because the story of Emma going in the wardrobe was in it, and that happened moments before everyone forgot everything and the world got destroyed, so there was hardly time for someone to write it down, (and only someone who was there could have known about it to be able to write it, and the only people there were Snow, Regina, and almost dead Charming, unless Blue was hovering outside the window), but if the book could write itself, then the story would have *poofed* in there as it happened.
Random theory. Emma asks HenryPan which story wasn’t originally in Henry’s book that August added in? I’d think only Emma and the real Henry would know the answer to that.

I think magic is still dying and in a convoluted way, Pan has further aims in mind of restoring it for his own selfish reasons. There have been too many hints about the “last this” or that magical item so I think it is a real thing happening, whether or not HE is the cause of magic dying this way, he wants to reverse that.
All the “last” magic stuff does suggest an actual dying out of magic, yeah. I dunno that Pan’s aware of or concerned with that though, I think if they do still plan to explore the magic dying story, it’s gonna have something to do with Blue.
Like, I could see it if there needs to be a major event to re-boot magic, and so Blue was in cahoots with the Spinsters, who gave Rumple the thing that set up Malcom becoming Pan, which set up his hourglass deadline to get his part of the plan done, which set up Henry going to NL, which set up how Neal and Emma need to meet in order for Henry to exist, which set up the need for Bae to end up in a land where he wouldn’t age for a while so he’d still be alive to be able to meet Emma, and they couldn’t have met without the Curse, and Blue is the one who dropped the hint about the Curse to Rumple in the first place, and I just can’t help but think that it’s all gotta be connected and there’ll be some full circle moment where Blue’s long game is finally achieved, and she’s currently still waiting for the payoff. Maybe she’s been working towards whatever this NewCurse is gonna be?
