I know that gif is of Bobby between takes, as opposed to Rumple, but all I can hear when I see it is, “Lovely day for a stabbing, dearie.”

Here’s the pic of Pan holding the whatever it is…

PP is holding something in his left hand – looks like a bottle of potion or something??

Yes, I was gonna mention that in my previous post, but totally forgot. In the pic where he’s standing right in front of them, you can see there’s something in his hand.

I don’t know how to copy pictures here but there is a BTS picture of Ginny posted a page back that cracks me up. She is all bundled up and looks like she is ready for an Alaskan dog sledding expedition!!

I don’t blame her. If I had to work on that show, everyone would be SO sick of me complaining about the cold. Rock on with your layers upon layers, Ginny!

He is ADORABLE and I was just having a conversation with a friend on Twitter today about how his smile just melts me into a puddle of drool. There’s a warmth and friendliness to him that is SO appealing and I love that he’s not afraid to speak his mind about things on Twitter.

MRJ’s smile is one of the best things in life. Seriously, it makes me happy just thinking about how his whole face lights up! 😀

So, who is the man that Rumple stabs after stabbing PP? : I’m not sold on the PP playing mind tricks because he’s being stabbed to death. His magic would be draining from his body at that point. That is why I’m tempted to say PP is not the real identity. The real identity is a man closer in age to Rumple, presumably his own father.

I liked RG’s suggestion on the previous page that it could be an aged Pan. Maybe as the magic leaves him, he catches up on those few hundred years before he withers away and turns to dust.

This is totally off topic but seriously, how the hell does JMo get into those jeans? Does she have a team of people to help her wriggle into them, or do they just paint them on? I’ve got nothing against a skinny jean, but hers always look so tight they must just be uncomfortable.

    1) It’s definitely clear that he kills PP and most likely his father (aw), but why does he need the dagger to do it? How are PP and his father related to the DO curse, cause Rumple has NEVER used his dagger to kill anyone before, doesn’t he just rip out hearts or turn them into snails?

I was wondering about this too. We have heard him say before (to August) that even without its magic, it was still a sharp blade, capable of doing damage, but I feel like there’s gotta be a magical reason it’s being used here. But Pan’s not the Dark One. Unless he is.

And another one, this time of PP threatening Henry and his parents:

Hmmmmmm. Is this before or after PP freezes everybody?

I think that’s gotta be after he’s frozen everyone, because they’re standing so close, and I can’t imagine them all just standing that close and actually watching as Rumple gets stab happy right in front of them.

I think Regina collapsing could be when the freezing magic wears off, and it wears off because the magic of Pan and/or the Dark One disappears after the stabbing, and Regina’s affected by the shift in The Force, so to speak. That’s one thing she’s got that’s unique out of everyone else there, she’s got dark magic flowing through her, like Pan and Rumple do, so if their magic goes POOF, maybe Regina’s magic is affected too, and that’s why she’s the one who collapses when they all unfreeze.

I’m fearful, however, that after such a frenectic season 3.1 we’re in for a slow and boring season 3.2 as they’re left empty handed without a villain that can shake the characters and have to build another one from scratch, similar to what we had to endure in season 2 post-The Miller’s Daughter.

They could still set up another villain before mid-season. I’m not convinced we’ll be off to Oz just yet, even though they’ve been dropping Oz anvils, but if so, there are evil witches there. There’s also Sneaky Fairy potential. But whether or not it’s Sneaky Fairy, I suspect there’ll be some larger, dark force who’s the next rung up from Rumple and Pan. Whether they’re brothers, or father/son, their family didn’t just curse itself, there was some force out there that set it all in motion.

In my mind, Peter was your typical irresponsible teenager, but was forced into responsibility when he found out he had impregnated a girl. The girl, Rumple’s mother, died, likely in childbirth, leaving him to take care of Rumple by himself. It was too much for him and one day he couldn’t take it anymore: he got himself to be reverted, physically and mentally, to his teenage self to forever live the daredevil’s life that was abruptly taken from him by Rumple’s conception. He forgets being Rumple’s father, but Rumple doesn’t and resents his dad’s decision to this day.

They’ve certainly cast him old enough that that storyline could work, so it’s a credible theory! Peter Pan is traditionally so virginal, it might be a bit weird IMO to see him as a promiscuous teen instead, (this must be how people who didn’t like the TinkerMomma theory felt when some of us were first kicking the idea around), but it’s totally possible they could go in that direction.

Indeed they had a different goal in mind with Rumple’s father, but here’s the catch: not only was that scene apparently not featured in the deleted scenes of season 2′s DVD and Blu-ray (or so I heard, I didn’t buy it) when we were all expecting it to as Adam and Eddy promised in Manhattan’s podcast, but they also didn’t use the actor that filmed that scene as Rumple’s father in the new season, choosing to cast a new guy instead. To me that screams that the role of Rumple’s father became far more important than it was originally, so they needed a more noteworthy actor for the job.

As far as having a prospective storyline in mind for Pan from the get-go, I vividly recall a tweet from Jane Esperson around time 3×03 or 3×04 was being written that they just had an insanely incredible idea in the writer’s room and how they were euphoric that it fit so well in the timeline. My guess is that the idea that Pan is Rumple’s dad began in that moment.

I remember that timeline tweet, too, but figured it coulda been so many things it’d be impossible to guess, so I didn’t bother trying. LOL I guess I just figure they probably had a pretty set idea of what they wanted to do with Pan from the beginning. In the original story, he had a brother, and it was basically resentment over that brother’s existence that resulted in Pan ending up in NL. I know they twist the stories in all sorts of obscure ways, but it’d be a pretty major plot point for them to leave out, which is why I’ve always thought the Brothers theory was a pretty good bet. If their original plan for him included that significant part of Barrie’s story, would they really change it that much to make him Rumple’s father instead, leaving the whole sibling rivalry aspect from the original on the cutting room floor? I dunno, but at least we won’t have much longer to wait until we find out, because I imagine the Brothers theory will be confirmed or denied in 308.

Ah, I hadn’t seen that one yet, Lauren. We’ve got the one of her actually on the ground over in the Deathwatch Thread, but don’t think we’ve got the one of her mid-collapse.

If Pan is definitely done after 3×11, I’m gonna be seriously annoyed. First Cora, now Pan, are they really going to be killing their best villains mid-season?

Most shows begin their seasons very slowly; ONCE didn’t this time.

I’ve actually been loving the pace they’ve set this season. I think the split season into 2 mini-seasons has meant they’ve kept the storytelling moving better, because they simply don’t have the option of wasting air time with filler and setup, it’s just all character development and stuff happening. They’ve said multiple times that the NL focus was for the first 11 eps, and you can’t really end a NL story arc with Pan still alive and a present threat, so while he wasn’t my first pick for a death, I’m not really surprised that they’re killing him off.

Peter Pan is totally Rumple’s father de-aged, I’m telling you. 🙂

Would be good if someone had made note of the replacement guy’s face to see if it’s a match for the guy who was cast as his father. If we’re not gonna see the replacement guy’s face, it’s possible they just needed someone whose stature could pass for Robbie when seen from the back.

In order for Rumple to have recognised him in the Pied Piper scene, it would mean he’d had to have de-aged before going to NL, but I’ve been assuming that Pan went to NL when he was still young, with the intention of staying young. So it doesn’t really compute for me. Also, they were originally gonna show Rumple’s father actually dying in S2, they even shot the scene, so this would be a massive change, and I’d think they’d had a prospective storyline in mind for Pan since the getgo, with the hope they’d be able to use the character.

If we get confirmation that the replacement guy was in fact the guy cast as Rumple’s father, then I’ll concede the point, but right now, the PapaPan theory just doesn’t click together properly for me.

    Complaint #1
“When did Neal ever start fighting for Emma???”

-This one really makes my blood boil. Have we not forgotten all the things he’s done for her before and after coming back into her life without complaint??? Let’s see here…

    PREEEEAAAAAACH!!!

He never lost young Bae’s spirit, which is pretty remarkable consider all the crap he went through that would make anyone go stark raving mad.

Which is why it infuriates me so when people say they love Bae but hate Neal because he’s so different. Like, seriously? I know, subjective lens and all, but the things you’ve listed so well in your post are actual, indisputable events that have happened on the show. Are we even watching the same show as the other side?

The hypocrisy of it all is astounding.
While Hook can get away with abandoning Bae. Neal can’t be forgiven from abandoning Emma? Why the favoritism?

(Note I am NOT implying that I personally consider MRJ ugly, but alas, that IS an argument that they put out there, even to the point of tweeting MRJ about how he’s not cute but Colin is.)

In the case of the “fight for her” stuff, it seriously baffles me because:
“A man unwilling to fight for what he wants, deserves what he gets.” = KILLIAN IS A HERO.
“I’ll never stop fighting for you.” = NEAL IS THE DEVIL.
Seriously, you cannot have it both ways!
If Hook honestly believes in that mantra of his, then him hearing Neal say that to Emma should by rights make him respect him and how he feels. That’s why I figured they showed Hook hearing it. He had to know where Neal stands if he’s gonna make a properly informed decision about what he truly wants for himself.

Something sweet to lighten the mood…

I love An Awfully Big Adventure, it really would be perfect, given what we now know. But would it be too spoilery of a title? Even people who avoid actual spoilers, will still know the ep title, and that title would be a dead giveaway (pun :-P).
