ParticipantI took his line about being trapped between two places as more of a mystical plane sort of a situation. When he held the ruby, the whatever thing with the wonky blurry camera happened, and then he used the voodoo doll to injure Tiana and said, “It feels so good to be back.” So I figured that his voodoo powers had been trapped somewhere in another “world”, and when he held the ruby it brought them back to him in this world, making him whole again.
The actor was great, I hope we get to see more of the character.
I kinda thought when he disappeared he used black smoke magic which I kinda thought could be the shadow from the end of last season.
Good catch!

ParticipantHaving suspected pretty much since the beginning that Drizella was awake and cast the Curse, I was pretty psyched to have one of those things confirmed!
My original theory hadn’t involved Victoria being awake too though, which she clearly is. She doesn’t appear to be aware that Drizella is awake though. So I guess that Drizella, with BadWig’s help, manipulated Victoria into casting the Curse because reasons. Victoria believes that she’s the one in control, but Drizella is the actual big bad, out to teach her mother a lesson about which one of them is actually more powerful.

ParticipantWe got a “desperate soul”! Gave me that warm and fuzzy nostalgia feeling.
i really liked this episode and I am loving this season so far. I honest to god think it’s one of the top 3 seasons of OUAT so far.
Same. I’ve been mostly watching the show out of duty the last couple seasons, not actually really enjoying it. This season I’m actually finding myself looking forward to watching. It’s like the Twilight Zone.
I’m very confused as to how her kingdom is setup. The mom is royalty but her cook of as husband is the one who built their kingdom? Shouldn’t the mother already have had a kingdom? Also why do the taxes of another kingdom effect them??
You’re confused because it makes no sense. I gather that her mother was born royal? So her father became royal when they got married? And then he built up the kingdom into something great, which suggests that Tiana’s parents were the King and Queen? But then he died, and her mother is no longer the Queen? And they’re not related to the current King and Queen?
What they should have done is just have them be nobles of some type. Lady Tiana, instead of Princess Tiana. Tweak her father’s story to having still built up their estate and their family’s standing in the community from nothing. Then after he died, the royal family cut her and her mother off for whatever reason, and that’s why they’re in debt now.
Eventually they have to reopen Mr. Clucks and serve chicken!
Even though the whole concept of them having even been able to take over Mr Clucks for the day for their own purposes was ridiculous…I did get a kick out of how it was destroyed in a sorta similar way to in LOST.
Jacinda used her rent money–money that could keep her child and herself off the streets–to buy a food truck? That currently doesn’t have an oven or even counterspace? Girl, you’re dumb.
I was looking at that shot of the inside of the truck and wondering what had possessed her to buy THIS truck. I guess it was slim pickings considering where she got it from, but still, just…an ordinary truck is NOT a food truck, and it’s gonna be pretty expensive to turn it into one. What was wrong with the farmer’s market idea is what I wanna know. Make the things in their own kitchen then take them somewhere to sell that’s not gonna cost you 2 months rent.
Hook’s missing girl case. Unless last week was a red hearing we already know that Alice is the missing girl so we are no longer invested.
There may not have been much in the way of evidence in that box, but there must be a photo of the girl in there. So there’s really no way that the missing girl is Alice, because Hook didn’t show any sign of recognising her at the hospital.

ParticipantThat is some good crack! If Will and Ana had a baby girl, they would absolutely name her after their friend Alice. Even if the show never gets into who Alice’s parents are, this will officially be my headcanon.

ParticipantYou know what…I’m just gonna throw my cards down and say he’s Adult Prince Snowflake. We’re meeting Zelena’s adult daughter, we met Rumbelle’s adult son…..I’m gonna guess he’s Snowing’s Adult son.
However there are many guesses on Twitter that he could be playing an adult Roland, which shouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility considering it was just announced his half-sister’s coming arrival yesterday.
Looking at pics of this guy on google, I reckon his skin is far too fair to be able to play Roland. So yeah, I’m throwing my cookies down for him being an adult BabyNamestealer too. FWIW, he’s 29, but by the look of him could pass for several years younger than that. The actress cast as Robyn is 22. Considering how BabyNamestealer was born a little bit before Robyn, I could see those ages fitting. Roland would have to be older if they all aged at the same rate, (which, yeah, I know, who knows LOL).

ParticipantI just don’t see Alice being Hook’s kid. I mean, even if he doesn’t remember who he really is, he still knows that as a cop he has a memory of working this case about a lost girl, right? So he’d have a memory of seeing the missing girl’s photo in the case file, surely? So if Alice was the girl he’s looking for, he should have recognised her, which he did not.
So I found this:
The name “Eloise” comes from the Old French name Héloïse, which is probably from the Germanic name Helewidis, composed of the elements heil “hale, healthy” and wid “wide”. It is sometimes associated with the Greek word ‘ηλιος (helios) “sun” or the name Louise, though there is not likely an etymological connection.
Rapunzel got her powers from a sun infused flower.
Eloise = Rapunzel.
Nice find! I was figuring that Eloise would be Rapunzel just going by the Gardener surname, because in the fairytale, Rapunzel’s father was stealing from a witch’s garden and that’s why she ended up in the tower.

ParticipantMaybe Alice will become a bit more sane if she gets off the pills and is just able to know and believe the truth of what’s going on and who she really is, which will #hopefully be happening by the time we get to the back half of the season when the relationship would be happening. Things like, “a strong-willed good girl turned rebel,” and “ready to break out into the world and find her own adventure,” make Robyn sound like she’s probably Alice’s kinda girl.
Anyway, I wasn’t excited to hear that Zelena was coming back. And having Robyn around will serve as a constant reminder of one of the reasons why I came to detest Zelena’s existence. And the fact that I’m positive they won’t even address Robyn having any type of issue with her mother for having raped her father is just infuriating, (honestly that should mess a person up at least a bit if they’re aware that that’s how they were conceived). With any luck this actress will be good enough in the role to make me appreciate the character being around.

ParticipantI think that is true. The thing is that would mean that Tremaine is his daughter because they are really hinting that Tremaine is Rapunzel.
I haven’t thought that personally, though I know it’s a theory with a decent following. I think Rapunzel will be someone new who is yet to show up in HH, (or maybe she’s even still in another realm somewhere). Tremaine knew Gothel somehow (that’s who I’m assuming is chained up in the bad wig), maybe she went to her one time to ask her to lock up Cinderella or something. But I don’t think Tremaine is Rapunzel.

ParticipantRogers and Tilly playing chess could be a red herring since it’s so obvious; however, there is a big chess motif in Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll.
Oh I know, I’m just suggesting that the writers were banking on that connection to make viewers (and probably even Rogers himself) come to that conclusion that Alice is Hook’s kid, but it’s actually a diversion for the real reveal. If so, then kudos to the writers for having been clever (#thingsIneverthoughtIdsayagain) in pulling off a bait and switch reveal.
If the specific chess piece had been a pawn, (the piece that Alice was considered to be throughout Through The Looking Glass) or a Queen, (which Alice became in the end of the story), then I’d be more inclined to think that the chess piece could be representing Alice. But this very specific piece that’s related to Hook’s kid is the piece that looks like a tower. A tower has nothing to do with Alice, and everything to do with Rapunzel.
The piece that Hook’s daughter kept was a knight, because he was her knight, and that fits with the Prince coming to visit Rapunzel in her tower like in the original story.
The fact that his daughter was imprisoned but he was still able to visit her every day in secret, there’s no Alice connection to that, but it fits for Rapunzel.
Basically, IMO there’s still more evidence that Hook’s daughter will end up being Rapunzel, and the chess connection to Alice is tenuous in comparison, so I remain unconvinced.

ParticipantI am trying to figure how I feel about what Gideon’s life tells us about the time line.
*passing you a bottle of Alice’s pills to help you forget all about the timeline*
Several seasons back when the timeline started getting wonky, we just ended up referring to it on the forums is as the T-word instead. I’m starting to feel that way again. “Timeline” is a bad word that causes upset!
