ParticipantHook hasn’t been forthcoming about David’s struggles (I blame David for that though),
When Charming was telling them all the bogus story of how he nearly died, I wondered if he had an ulterior motive. On the one hand, he was covering his own arse because he didn’t want Snow and Emma to know he’d been keeping a secret from them. But as an added bonus, Hook is now forced to not be completely honest with Emma, which could eat away at him and come between him and Emma, and Charming doesn’t want Hook getting with Emma. Will be interesting to see if the truth about Charming’s poisoning comes out, too, and if so, will Hook be the one to reveal it.

ParticipantI agree with Stelio, that Hook will tell. This is exactly the mistake Hook made with Bae. He didn’t tell Bae that he knew who he was, that his mother Milah CHOSE to run away with him, and that he had at first sworn vengeance on the Dark One for her death, until he met Bae. So then it blew up in his face when Bae found the drawing (and I still think Smee put it there! I’ll keep suggesting seaky mutineer Smee, the dirty rat! It is traditional for Smee to mutiny, and I still wonder where Hook’s crew went….but I digress). Point is, Hook will have no character growth if he doesn’t do the honorable thing and tell, and really, even that aside, why shouldn’t he? He’s a man who likes to fight for what he wants, thinks highly enough of his appeal so would he even consider it a risk? I don’t think so.
I think he may consider it a risk, because he knows that Emma does actually love Neal, and they have a history together. Hook’s own relationship with Emma isn’t that deep and lasting yet. Emma told him the kiss was a one time thing. So if she suddenly knows that Neal is alive, I think Hook is smart enough to know that there’s a real chance she’d go back to him.
I do think he’ll tell though, at least I hope he does, because like you said, character development, and he’s been in a similar situation before, that also involved Neal and the keeping of secrets, so as a Hooker, I wanna see him not repeat that same mistake again.
All in all, I loved how this ep showed the different aspects of Hook’s character overlapping each other. He lied to Charming…so he could save his life…partly because of his own experience of losing his brother…but also partly to get in Emma’s good graces. Doing the right thing, but for selfish reasons. And it ended with him being presented with this information, and now he’s in a situation where he has to choose if he wants to do the right thing, or the selfish thing.

ParticipantIn the US promo I went frame by frame and you can see Regina and Rumple standing there and a shadow rise from the ground. Evidently she chokes VisionBelle, who collapses and the shadow rises up to reveal it’s true self.
This is a huge bummer for Rumple, but I totally called that VisionBelle would be the Shadow before we even saw her for the first time, so YAY for me. 😛

ParticipantHaven’t processed everything else that happens in the promo but just have to let out an OMG ARIEL *FLAILING* SOOOOOO EXCITEEEEED!
Ahem. Carry on.

ParticipantCrackpot add on to my previous musing. Maybe Ariel has an enchanted mirror so she could watch Eric, even while she was in NL and he in FTL. Maybe that’s what she carries around in her little bag. And maybe she’ll give it to Belle to use instead, so she can see Rumple.

ParticipantThe how and why of Ariel ending up in SB will probably give us a better idea of whether or not Belle could get to NL. Right now I’m thinking that Ariel got accidentally sucked through the portal in the opposite direction of the JR. If so, she’s not there with any particular message or mission, and probably doesn’t have a way to get back. If she did have a way, then maybe Belle could hitch a ride. Maybe Ariel will know how to work a magic mirror and they’ll bring that part of B&tB into it. Oh, then maybe if they’re re-growing beans, Belle will go to NL after watching Rumple through the mirror?

ParticipantPhee about the a mermaids that’s my fault I couldnt copy and paste so I typed it and that typo may have been my fault
The blurb that’s actually on wikipedia says “a mermaids” as well. This is the only source for this info so far, as far as I know. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_Upon_a_Time_%28season_3%29 (click on “Episodes” if the list of eps doesn’t automatically show up)

ParticipantTriton and Ursula being siblings is a major plot point in the stage production of The Little Mermaid.

ParticipantHave seen this floating around tumblr but dunno if we can put much stock in it. Assuming it’s been copied and pasted from a press release of some sort, wouldn’t ABC proofread and not release a press release with “a mermaids”?
Also, I agree with RG that Charming being healed of the poison already makes that whole story arc incredibly short and meh. I’m expecting them to draw that out for a bit longer. In the promo, Snow seemed awfully cheery with her, “To Hook,” and if she’d just found out that her husband had been keeping something so major from her, I just dunno that she’d be that cheery. So I still reckon Hook’s gonna save Charming from something else, not the poison.
