ParticipantThey addressed that a bit when they had Red say, “Regina thought she was punishing us by erasing who we were, but I think she underestimated how much crap we wanted to forget.” Maybe that’s something they were originally intending to explore some more in their original S2 plans?
Still not convinced they’d have Eric happily married to another woman if he’s alive in present day. I know they mess with the fairytales all the time, but many people consider Ariel and Eric to be a Disney OTP, so busting them up and having him happy with Vanessa instead could be a tad controversial. Obviously I wouldn’t personally have an issue with it, but I’d say the vast majority of viewers would. Maybe they could get away with it if they had Eric say he’d looked for Ariel in SB right after the Curse broke, but she wasn’t there, so he went back to his CurseWife and they’re now blissfully happy and expecting a baby, or something like that? Though then you still open up the debate of, “If he’d looked for her, he still loves her, and shouldn’t stay with the wife just for the baby.” Also, they kinda already did that storyline with David and Kathryn’s almost pregnancy causing problems for David and MM.

ParticipantNo worries. 🙂 Makes you wonder just how powerful she could prove to be. If she can do something as major as prevent her heart from being taken, when she doesn’t even realise that she’s doing anything, then what could she be capable of if that amount of power actually becomes conscious and focused.

ParticipantSomeone’s put together a little collection of pics of the handle of the sword that Bae was using, and concluded that it’s the same one Emma’s holding. The Emma pic is blurry when zoomed in, but you can just make out the little ball bit that’s in the shots of Bae’s sword, (Emma’s thumb is partially obscured by the ball):
So the sheathed blade is in her right hand, facing away from the camera, which is why the perspective makes it look shorter.Phee
ParticipantWith thanks to our very own RG for sending in the question…
Now that Once Upon a Time has cast both Ariel and Eric, can you give us anything new on what their story might be? – Jacquelyn
I already slapped my theory onto the news story announcing Eric’s casting, but I can add this: Series cocreator Adam Horowitz, when asked to describe Once’s Ariel in three words, effectively evokes her classic characterization: “Adventurous. Spitfire. Romantic.” And then we joked about how the Little Mermaid had to move to Cleveland, because, well, Adam and I are nerdy Yankee fans.Adventurous – Pirates are that.
Spitfire – Hook is definitely that.
Romantic – He’s been dedicated to his love for about 300 years.
Perfect match much? 😉Phee
ParticipantTrue about the Curse weakening because of her presence, but because it was her presence that caused that, I still see it as something magical within her that sparked to life and made stuff happen, even though she was unaware of it. The power lines sparked the first moment she got out of the Bug and actually set foot in SB. The ground shook when she put on the Sheriff badge. Graham remembered when he kissed her. She didn’t have control over any of that, but something within her was still causing change around her. She didn’t kiss Henry intending for the kiss to wake him up and break the Curse. She didn’t touch Regina’s arm intending to make the hat work. She had no idea Cora wouldn’t be able to take her heart. But she still unconsciously made it all happen, because she just oozes magic, because it’s an inherent part of her.

ParticipantSo, my question is, can we infer from that statement that Emma is UNCONCIOUSLY using magic all the time? Breathing is unconscious after all.
Yes, I think so. She made the clock tick way before she even remotely believed in magic.
