ParticipantWell the thing is that PP does traditionally have a younger brother. Peter’s been off with the fairies in Kensington Gardens, but decides to go home, and he sees his mother with a new baby, and feels all rejected and replaced, and that’s the reason he goes back to live with the fairies full time, and ends up in NL. So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they give PP a brother, might actually be odd if they didn’t, considering that family angst is a major theme of the show. They’ll have to show how their version of PP became who he is, and if they have it relate to the Barrie version, they’ll have to include the sibling, and if they wanna tie that to present day events and the over all mythology of the show, Rumple is the perfect candidate IMO.
Here’s the part of Barrie’s story that mentions Peter’s younger brother…
”I wish now to go back to mother for ever and always,” they had to tickle his shoulder and let him go.
He went in a hurry in the end because he had dreamt that his mother was crying, and he knew what was the great thing she cried for, and that a hug from her splendid Peter would quickly make her to smile. Oh, he felt sure of it, and so eager was he to be nestling in her arms that this time he flew straight to the window, which was always to be open for him.
But the window was closed, and there were iron bars on it, and peering inside he saw his mother sleeping peacefully with her arm round another little boy.
Peter called, “Mother! mother!” but she heard him not; in vain he beat his little limbs against the iron bars. He had to fly back, sobbing, to the Gardens, and he never saw his dear again. What a glorious boy he had meant to be to her. Ah, Peter, we who have made the great mistake, how differently we should all act at the second chance. But Solomon was right; there is no second chance, not for most of us. When we reach the window it is Lock-out Time. The iron bars are up for life.

ParticipantYeah, it was mentioned somewhere else that he was gonna be in 303. Couldn’t tell you where, because all the news sources are becoming a hot mess in my head. LOL Anyway, it was mentioned somewhere that he’d be in 303, and we already knew that was the Regina ep.
I’d previously been thinking he might first appear in 302, because Sean had tweeted Adam about hopefully seeing him the following week, and that was right before they shot 302, which Adam was on set for. I figured Robin would fit in a Snowing flashback, and could also fit in present day with Belle if we were gonna see her there in relation to how her NL encounter with Rumple happens.
Could have just been that he arrived in town earlier than he was needed for filming though, so we shall see. He’s definitely in the Regina ep though.

ParticipantJust came across a post on tumblr about Rumple’s similarities to Ben on LOST, and it mentions the doll that Ben was given as a child:
Looking at the screencap of Ben’s doll, I noticed that not only it is a similar, rustic style, it’s also the same colours as Rumple’s doll, so perhaps the doll’s colour is just a little Easter Egg?For a better pic of Ben’s doll: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Annie
Unlike Roger, Annie remembered Ben’s birthday, and presented him with a pair of carved wooden dolls, designed to represent herself and Ben. She gave the girl to Ben and kept the boy, telling Ben that because they each had the other’s doll, they would never have to be apart from each other. The doll was a significant gift for Ben, and he kept it with him throughout his adult life. When Richard sees Ben with the doll and asks what it is, he says simply that it was a birthday present.
$10 says that Rumple’s doll was half of a pair.
I’m gonna go with his father having made them each one, and he gave Rumple the same story Annie gave Ben, about them always being together because each had the other’s doll. His father did this because he knew people were after him, and something might happen to him. That did end up happening, and Rumple clung onto the doll of his father, even when he went to NL, where he either lost it, or PP took it away from him.

ParticipantMRJ would totally rock those shoes. 😆
This may not be accurate, but I’m sure I’ve seen mention before that the Ruby Slippers are copyrighted to the studio that made the movie? They were originally silver in the books, changed to red for the movie so they’d stand out.

ParticipantI think it has to do with Bae because I don’t think it’s necessarily for this story to reach all the way back to Rumple’s childhood. I’m more interested in a Dark One vs Pan story-
Now that I’m on the team that suspects they may be brothers, I think Rumple’s childhood could be completely necessary. What I like about the brothers theory is that if that’s explained and resolved, it could bring a conclusion to the whole Curse arc, meaning the show could start to move on with new adventures, instead of constantly being tied to the Curse storyline for however many seasons it goes for. If it all began with PP resenting his brother, and everything that’s happened – from Rumple becoming the Dark One, to losing Bae, to the Curse, to Henry – it was all a means to get to an end that will be the final showdown between the two brothers, I think that would be an awesome explanation and climax for the story.
So one thing in the panel is, A&E say something like “It’s the jungle, and the Heart of Darkness,”. I can’t remember how it was phrased but immediately it put me in mind of the Joseph Conrad classic novel, “Heart of Darkness.” It might inspire some themes, in a similar way to Lord of the Flies that has been mentioned as a potential influence of the dynamics.
It reminds me of a throw-away line in Tiny, that humans took beans and exploited other worlds, as that novel is all about colonization/civilization versus natives….perhaps some tie in to the PP story with Tiger Lily?
Have seen that book mentioned in another thread before, (possibly by yourself), but confess to not knowing much about it. I’ll have to do some reading up on it, because it certainly sounds like something that could be influencing K&H.
As for Tiger Lily, who knows if they’ll even go there. I had once been thinking that maybe NL used to be a peaceful place, and Tiger Lily’s people lived there happily, until PP came along and wrecked it all. But that’s probably too close of a parallel to real life events, and they’d have to be very careful how they wrote a storyline like that.

ParticipantI always suspected she didn’t like that True Love was the most powerful of all magic. That means that it’s stronger than her “original power” and all the fairy dust they use to power the Enchanted Forest. For some reason, either fairies “can’t” love, aren’t allowed, or she’s just bitter (reminds me of Regina), Blue just doesn’t have access to True Love. That means someone else is more powerful than her and therefore can upset the balance of magic and power in the Enchanted Forest. Blue doesn’t want to let go of being the top magical dog in the pound…or fairy in the forest.
Agreed!
As for male fairies, I don’t think so. I reckon all fairies are female, just like all dwarves are male, and neither is allowed to fall in love.

ParticipantAs of yesterday, Jamie was still in Vancouver…
https://twitter.com/jamiechung1/status/367533546325680128I think an Emma story will come toward the end of the first half as the search for Henry gets harder and harder. Make it extra emotional: Emma’s decision to give up Henry paralleled with her search for him now in NL.
Yeah, I could see them showing us Henry’s birth in an Emma ep in the same ep where they rescue him. They’ve suggested we’ll see more of SwanFire’s life on the run, which I guess would be in an ep like that, and the final flashback would be her giving birth.
Neal will need his own flashback to his years after leaving Emma, but that won’t necessarily come in the first half, especially if we already get him in real world flashbacks in Emma’s ep.
I’d expect a Belle ep, though dunno off the top of my head what flashbacks they’d have for it.
I’d expect a Tamara ep, because that will allow them to elaborate on THO a bit more, and it would also serve to fill in the missing piece in Greg’s backstory, where he got recruited.
Might be a Robin ep, though if the baby daddy theory proves true, his backstory could be told in the same ep as Tamara’s.
Gotta be a PP ep showing his history before they get around to defeating him.
Would they do an Aurora ep? I’d imagine her part will be mostly done with once Neal leaves FTL, so if they ever intend to tell the story of how she was cursed, and maybe even how her mother was cursed, that might be coming soon? But I know they’ve said the main focus of the first 11 would be NL, so maybe an Aurora ep would be too much of a detour? Would suck if we never got her backstory, moreso for the sake of seeing more Maleficent and their take on the original Sleeping Beauty story though, as opposed to it being character development for Aurora.

ParticipantI just want to add this point, does anyone think that Gold being in his classic Rumpelstiltskin outfit means that maybe he’ll slowly go full Dark One Rumpel on us as the season progresses?
I think he put himself back in that clothing to help him get back into the Dark One mindset. He believes he’s gotta be 100% Dark One to get the job done. If he’s gonna be interacting with Belle somehow in 302, that will likely keep his struggle between light and dark ongoing. A couple weeks ago I got this idea in my head that when the undoing happens, it would physically change Rumple as the Dark One is drawn out of his body. Now that we know he’s back in Dark One costume, I’m more convinced that at some point, we’re gonna see him go all sparkly in NL to complete the look.
Felix told Rumple that if he is looking the boy, then he will not survive. I wonder if the lost boys knew that Henry will be Rumple’s undoing. We know that Peter Pan and Rumple know each other and since Felix stated that Rumple won’t survive if he is looking for Henry, he could know that Henry is Rumple’s undoing. Either that or Felix is so confident that nobody stands a chance on getting Henry back.
Could be either, but I do suspect that they likely know all about the undoing prophecy.
Um, I couldn’t tell but does Gold no longer has his limp, I didn’t see a cane with him. It would make sense for him to get rid of it considering there on a muddy Island and having a limp would give him a physical disadvantage.
I reckon he’s been able to fix his limp ever since magic came back to SB. He could heal gunshot wounds and re-attach arms, so he could also have fixed his limp. But that limp was his constant reminder of his failings, and of what was motivating him to achieve his goal, so he wanted to keep it. Doesn’t need that reminder any more when he’s immersed in NL though. And he needs to be operating at full physical power. So the limp is now gone.

ParticipantI go with number 5. Her new love is probably the fried calamari she eats after she does her “favorite kill” of Ursula. So kill two birds with one stone. Get rid of a squid and have a tasty lunch.
😆
Honestly, that latest tweet from Keck just feels like damage control to me. Like, maybe he wasn’t really supposed to publish such specific spoilers, (many people did comment that it seemed odd to be getting what appeared to be blatant spoilers), and there’s been uproar over the publication of Lana’s “manly” quote, everything from, “I’m so disappointed in Lana,” to “If her words were twisted by the writer that’s so WRONG,” so perhaps he got a bit of a slap on the wrist and was told to publish a retraction.
That’s my conspiracy theory, and I’m sticking with it. 😛
