ParticipantI just dunno that I could buy it if Rumple knew Bae was in NL and he left him there. Even if PP kicked him out so he couldn’t get to Bae, Rumple would have been trying to then get back to NL, instead of building the Curse and manipulating the situation to get to the land without magic.
The only way that Rumple having knowledge of Bae having been in NL would work for me, is if PP told Rumple that Bae was already gone, and offered up some sort of very definitive proof.
I can see Rumple going to NL for parts of the Curse, instead of going there searching for Bae. SB was like NL in the sense that no one aged, so perhaps that vital part of the Curse could only be got in NL. If Rumple had been there previously, as a child, he’d have knowledge about the place, perhaps including what it is specifically that keeps everyone from aging. He’d also know that the Shadow has the ability to travel between worlds, (including the land without magic if little Rumple was there long enough to speak with other Lost Boys who’d come from our world), without the need of a traditional style portal if it had happened to him personally, and that was another thing that was necessary for the Curse. The Curse was enacted by sacrificing the heart of the thing you love most, and now we’ve had it suggested that the boy in PP’s pic won’t survive, and 301 is called The Heart of the Truest Believer. So we also have heart sacrifice as another potential similarity between NL and the Curse. I’m really starting to think that NL must be where Rumple got the original recipe version of the Curse. Going there for Curse “ingredients” is more believable motivation than going there searching for Bae IMO, because Rumple thought that Bae went down the beanhole to a land without magic, so why would Rumple be looking for Bae in lands with magic? But if he’s searching for a powerful Curse, and he’d been to NL before and knows the intense sort of magic that’s there and some of the specifics of it, it would make total sense for him to go back there in his search for the Curse.
Also, as I’ve said previously, (don’t remember if it was this thread or another one), if Rumple had interacted with PP in his younger days, and he’d been smacked down, he’d relish the opportunity to go back and show PP how powerful he’d become.
I can imagine PP making sure that Bae saw Rumple while he was there, especially if he hates Rumple, and therefore also hates Bae and wanted him to suffer, seeing the evil acts that his father planning. But I doubt PP would let Rumple see Bae, because PP wants Rumple to go back to FTL and cast the Curse, (no Curse = no Henry, and PP needs Henry), and that won’t happen if Rumple becomes fixated on trying to get Bae out of NL.

ParticipantWhat if 3×5 is Rumple’s episode?
RG tweeted Adam recently asking if it was 302 – Snowing, 303 – Regina, 304 – Rumple, and he replied that it was. So Hook’s backstory has to be 305 if we’re finding out how he became a pirate within the first 5 eps.

ParticipantThe only potential glitch I see in them being the same person is that Liam is a “guest role” and Devin is “potentially recurring”, which sorta sounds like Devin is more likely to be in present day, and Liam is a one shot in a flashback?
My headcanon still tells me that Killian is Eric and that Liam adopted Eric/Killian.
I don’t even know what my specific headcanon is anymore. There are too many fun ideas floating around right now! The spoilerphobes are missing out on lots of fun. Though they don’t get as many headaches, so I guess that’s a win.
Did you all watch the Wonderland portion of the D23 panel? I learned that the Knave of Heart’s real name is Will. Eddy and Adam also hinted Will is more than a mere knave and that his background will be revealed. It’s probably just a coincidence, but you never know with E&A. There could be some overlap between OUAT and WL.
Totally hadn’t made that connection. They’ve said that the Knave’s story leads back to FTL, too.

ParticipantOkay, here’s my theory:
Devin and Liam are the same person. In the description of Liam, he grew up as an orphan. Who are Lost Boys? Boys who have been abandoned, they are lost. Devin grew up a lost boy but at some point, stopped being a Lost Boy and came back to fairytale land to become Liam, the Navy Captain.
Good point connecting the Lost Boys and orphans.
I just hope that if this Liam guy does end up being Killian’s father, that the character’s name is actually William. Because only the first and last letters of those names are different. Though that would mean there’s no Eric, or Davy…but still, William and Killian just go so well together.

ParticipantAgreed. I had wondered a while back if maybe Hook knew to go there after Milah died because he’d been there before, but now I really don’t think he had been. We’ve now seen, and heard in interviews, that he really didn’t wanna go back in present day. If he’d been there as a child and knew what the place was like, why was he smiling so big and sounding so excited when he told Smee they were off to NL? Does not compute.

ParticipantI wish they had talked about Hook’s leather costume.
Same here. I am completely in lust with that big coat of his!

ParticipantHere’s a screencap that shows Bae’s full coat on the boat. It’s a dirty dark red, brownish sorta colour.

His dressing gown was dark red too.Phee
ParticipantI think the mystery of the doll may be cleared up in 301. The intro to the clip was Adam saying, “It involves the culmination of many things that have happened in an episode you have not seen yet.”
The doll had a blue jacket on. Have we ever seen Rumpel in a blue jacket? We have seen Bae in one. It had white trim, was boxy and looked cut to remain open.
Do you recall which ep? Off the top of my head, I thought the only jackets we’ve seen him in have been maroon-ish?

ParticipantLiam sounds like a rather stand up guy, though, and Hook told us his father was not. Unless we’re going to see that Hook doesn’t really know why his father left. But right now, I’m slightly more inclined to think that Liam might be the man who “fathered” Hook and taught him how to be a Pirate.
What’s making me go with bio-dad as opposed to father figure is that they specified the hair colour, and it’ll match Hook’s. If they’re not looking for a look-alike, why mention hair colour at all? Unless they want a match so they can fake out the audience and reveal in a later ep that this guy isn’t his bio-dad after all?
Hook: When I was a boy, my father and I boarded a ship with plans to travel the realms. One morning, I awoke and he was gone. Turned out he was a fugitive, and he fled in the middle of the night to avoid capture.
Bae: He abandoned you?
Hook: Aye, that he did.Seems he thought his dad was an alright guy until he disappeared, and who knows if what Killian was told about why he disappeared was true. Would actually be poetic in a way, if he wasn’t told the truth, considering Rumple didn’t tell Bae the truth when his mother disappeared…with Killian.
Also, Devin. It says that he is a Lost Boy. Do we trust that? Do we think Hook was a lost boy?
That’s why I was trying to do the math in a post on the previous page, because I know there’s been speculation about him being in NL as a boy. But I dunno that it’d fit.
