ParticipantFeels like we should be making a new bet. Team Bae’s Doll vs Team Rumple’s Doll. 😆

ParticipantIf it is the state prison, the bigger issue is revealing the town, so that is why George must be kept chained in the mines,
That’s what I thought he meant. “Not like we can explain to authorities outside SB that he killed a guy who was actually a mouse, and he tried to frame a werewolf for it. And our only jail is the cells in the Sheriff station, so we had to stick him somewhere else permanently.” Didn’t read it as him being condescending to either Red or Billy at all, just stating that town business concerning magical animal people had to be dealt with within SB.

ParticipantGerhardt and PapaFrankenstein didn’t show up until ep 12, In The Name of the Brother. Though, I guess Gerhardt was kinda sorta in The Doctor, it’s just we only saw a body under a sheet. And yep, Quinn was the other wolf’s name.

ParticipantWith Liam being English, and there being a few English kings named William, I wonder if this guy could be a royal?
William III
Eight days before William was born, his father died of smallpox; thus William was the Sovereign Prince of Orange from the moment of his birth. Immediately, a conflict ensued between the Princess Royal and William II’s mother, Amalia of Solms-Braunfels, over the name to be given to the infant. Mary wanted to name him Charles after her brother, but her mother-in-law insisted on giving him the name William or Willem to bolster his prospects of becoming stadtholder. William II had appointed his wife as his son’s guardian in his will; however the document remained unsigned at William II’s death and was void.

Deceased father, mother without legal rights over him, sounds orphan-ish. Now, I admit, this over analysis stems from my thinking that it’d be cool for Killian to have some royal blood, (which I was wanting even before I started mashing him up with Eric in my head), and with the mention of dark hair, I’m thinking this Liam guy is probably his father. Plus, William and Killian is a cute pair of almost matchy names. In my original Killian headcanon, his parents were killed when he was young and someone spirited him away so he wouldn’t get killed too. So I’ve been on the we-need-a-royal-orphan bandwagon for a while.I reckon the Devin kid might be a Lost Boy who reminds Hook of himself at that age. We know they’ve already had Lost Boys on set, so if they need a stand out one, and they’re introducing him in a Hook ep, I’d guess he’s got some significance for Hook in some way.
One more pondering about this ep…if they wanna show Killian in his late teens, do you reckon they’d have Colin play the part, like they did with JMo? I know lots of people didn’t really buy her as being 17/18. It worked enough for me that I bought it with a little bit of suspension of disbelief. Give Colin a shave and stick him in brighter clothing, and he might just pass for a late teens, baby faced pirate.

ParticipantJust looked up the name meanings. Freakin’ Irish everywhere, of course, because it’s the ep where Colin is front and centre. 😉
Liam
Meaning & History
Irish short form of WILLIAM
From the Germanic name Willahelm, which was composed of the elements wil “will, desire” and helm “helmet, protection”. Saint William of Gellone was an 8th-century cousin of Charlemagne who became a monk. The name was common among the Normans, and it became extremely popular in England after William the Conqueror was recognized as the first Norman king of England. It was later borne by three other English kings, as well as rulers of Scotland, Sicily (of Norman origin), the Netherlands and Prussia.Other famous bearers include William Wallace, a 13th-century Scottish hero, and William Tell, a legendary 14th-century Swiss hero. In the literary world it was borne by dramatist William Shakespeare (1564-1616), poet William Blake (1757-1827), poet William Wordsworth (1770-1850), dramatist William Butler Yeats (1865-1939), author William Faulkner (1897-1962), and author William S. Burroughs (1914-1997).
Devin
Meaning & History
From a surname, either the Irish surname DEVIN (1) or the English surname DEVIN (2).(1) Anglicized form of the Gaelic surnames Ó DAMHÁIN or Ó DUBHÁIN.

ParticipantNow that we have the actual video of the D23 panel…
…and we can see specifically what was said about Eric…
Eddy – We’re really excited to just focus on the people on that ship and our core characters and we’re not going to introduce a lot of characters this first 11 episodes. We’re really gonna focus and get deeper with the ones we already love.
Interviewer – Well you may not introduce, but you may have mentioned backstage that we may get to meet another character from The Little Mermaid. Like maybe Ursula?
Eddy – Well you never know because on our show, ya never know who really is Ursula.
Adam – I’d say there’s a good chance at seeing Ursula.
Eddy – Or at least our version.
Adam – Our version. And ya know, along those lines, there’s a good chance of seeing a guy named Eric.Key words here are “along those lines” when they were just talking about Ursula probably being not just Ursula. So Eric probably isn’t just gonna be Eric? And they’re not planning to bring in more characters yet? I know I’m totally watching this through shipper goggles, but I’m just sayin’, given the topic of that part of the conversation, it didn’t exactly imply that “Eric” was gonna be his own, whole, new character, in fact, quite the opposite.

ParticipantIt was so cool to see the Rabbit in action! Have a feeling I’m really gonna like the Knave too.

ParticipantWhich begs the question: Why did Rumple want to come to our world (assuming that’s the world he spoke of–a world without magic, and we know from Oz lore that the slippers lead to “our” world, so it’s strongly suggested they’re the same) a good two-three decades before Bae would show up, without the Curse to keep him ageless?
This is why I think there’s someone else in the chain of command above Rumple, and that someone is PP. Nealfire landed in our world at a time when he’d be able to age to the point where he could make baby Henry with Emma. Henry is who PP needed. If Nealfire’s aging process wasn’t properly controlled, Henry would have never been. Nealfire was in NL, before coming to our world. So I think PP is the one in the chain of command above Rumple.
Rumple had enough control over the Curse to make it take him to the land that Bae would be in, but he couldn’t control the exact timing or location. That was controlled by someone who needed Henry to be created, and then be of a certain age at a certain time. If Rumple had complete control over how the Curse worked, he wouldn’t have made it so he had to wait 3 decades and then go on an uncertain search to find his son.
