ParticipantIt does suggest that Rumple has been in NL as the Dark One but that doesn’t negate him being in NL as a child. Both could be true; it’s not mutually exclusive. And Pan seems to be perfectly fine with Rumple being in NL, so long as it’s not for Henry, which would indicate a sort of bond between them. Even if Rumple doesn’t want one.
All of this! I agree, the half hearted hand flourish does suggest that Felix has seen Rumple in Dark One mode before. If the Curse originated in NL, that could be why Rumple had been there. But I still really think he was also there as a child.
If we go with the idea that he went there to get the Curse, (or part thereof), how would he have even known that such a thing might exist there, unless he had prior knowledge of the place? Knowledge he could have gained when he was there as a child, and his brother PP had eagerly told him all about the wonderful, magical properties of that world, maybe even how it came into being. If PP had wanted his brother to live there ever since way back then, it’d make sense that he’s cool with Rumple staying now, as long as he doesn’t plan to make trouble. Rumple finally conceding to stay in NL would be a victory for PP.
Another possible way they could go is if he and PP had a disagreement when Rumple was a powerless child, and PP had the upper hand back then, you know that Rumple would wanna go back with a mind to turning the tables once he was the Dark One. It’d be the “kiss my boot” situation all over again. “You made me bow down to you, well now I have the power.”
I think it makes it more compelling if Rumple and PP have tangled on more than one previous occasion, and giving them that sibling connection would be an amazing twist.

ParticipantLeaving my Hookriel bias aside, one of the issues I’d have with Ariel being Killian’s mother is that it would relegate her story to flashbacks, which I think would be a disservice to the character. We’ve had K&H say that Ariel will be in NL, which implies we’ll be meeting her there in present day. A very likely candidate to be playing her is 34 years old. If she was Killian’s mother and alive in present day at age 34, then we’ve got another parent/child relationship where they’re almost the same age, and that’s already been done, and it’s something that makes Emma’s relationship with her parents unique, so I dunno that they’d do the same thing with someone else.

ParticipantJust posted my thoughts on the doll being Rumple’s over in the D23 thread. Maybe it’d be better suited to discussion in this thread though? I’ll copy and paste…
Taking the whole context of the scene, Rumple’s reaction, and Felix’s, and dialogue from a previous ep, it made me think even more that the doll was Rumple’s.
Felix: “Isn’t it funny, the things we haven’t thought about in years…still have the ability to make us cry.”
Wendy: “When night fell, that’s when all the children started to miss their parents, and they cried through the night.”
They had Rumple fall to his knees, bringing him down to a child’s height, (they could have just had him bend down to pick it up). Then they had Felix crouch down, the way an adult often will when speaking directly to a child. In that scene, Rumple was a child again IMO, and the doll was his, the only remaining thing that was a reminder of his lost parents, and it made him cry just like all the Lost Boys cry over missing their parents. The way Felix spoke about it, sounded like this particular brand of crying that Rumple was doing is something he witnesses all the time.

ParticipantOh- and I was wrong! He doesn’t say how many lost boys he takes with him- he says how many of you.
This is why I so desperately wanted the clip online. Seeing it just once when your brain is melting over the awesomeness, no recap from anyone who was there could be totally accurate. But now we have it to watch over and over and pick apart properly. Even though it totally busts my idea that he was gonna attempt to liberate Lost Boys, I’m glad to have it clarified.
Seeing an amalgamation of Rumple and Mr. Gold is fantastic! Also, seeing a grown go from threatening to tearful in the blink of an eye was amazing acting. Robert Carlyle is a total master of his craft.
He’s so many different kinds of amazing. Someone give the man an award for this role already! I know that shows like this never get Emmy noms for the acting, but OMG SERIOUSLY.
Also, I took a screenshot of the doll made from straw. I agree that the doll does look masculine. It doesn’t resemble anyone though, so I’m left questioning whose doll it is: Rumple’s or Bae’s.

ParticipantLiam certainly sounds like PapaHook to me, because they specify his hair colour.
If there’s a 14 year old boy in this ep, I automatically wanna say it’s YoungKillian. But how would that potentially work with the t-word?
If we’re going with the ages they mention, and it’s Killian and his father, then Killian was born when his father was 21. If Killian has been in NL for a long time, not aging, how does that match up with us seeing a 35 year old father? When Killian was 0 years old, his father was 21. When Killian was 14, his father was 35. But the 14 year old has been stuck at 14 for some time in NL, and if this is the ep where we see how Killian became a pirate, and if this 35 year old guy is the reason it happened, I’d imagine them to be in scenes together. So I don’t think it could match up that the kid in NL could be the 35 year old’s kid? I don’t even know if this paragraph or my math makes any sense?

ParticipantWish the scene with George hadn’t been cut! The number of times fans have questioned why he was apparently allowed to roam around free and why we never saw any justice. Including this scene would have eliminated a question that’s been a pet peeve for lots of people. Seems fitting that they locked him in an abandoned mine, just like they did with Rumple.
I wanna punch Milah after watching that scene with little Bae crying. 🙁

ParticipantI just love that she’s a big fan of the show. That’s the type of person who would be a valuable addition to the cast because you already know she’d give the role her all. She’d be a fangirl living the dream.
Hopefully the PR department notice that people have noticed that Adam followed her and the buzz has begun, so they’ll officially announce it ASAP.

ParticipantThanks for posting that! Even though the FEELS almost did me in. It’s a really beautifully made vid.

ParticipantThanks for that link, obisgirl! I’d seen one earlier, but it said the vid was private, and I couldn’t watch it.
Colin is so lovely. And his voice! 🙂

ParticipantThe words “tragic turn” weren’t in quotes in the article, so we just don’t know exactly what was said. Maybe they said, “But as a general rule, lasting happiness doesn’t come easy for Regina, so there will be obstacles with this romance,” and that became, “producers tell me this romance will take a tragic turn,” in the article because it sounds more dramatic. I wouldn’t expect any relationship Regina has of any kind, not just romance, would be smooth sailing.
