ParticipantWell, this isn’t an official press release or anything, so I do wonder if maybe they were saving up the reveal for D23 on August 10th. VCF tweeted just yesterday that they knew who was playing him, and they know SpoilerTV, so that may be where the info is coming from.

ParticipantRobbie has sent tweets that imply he’s been on set with Jared, so I suspect we’ll see Henry being brought to PP in the first ep, but the JR6 won’t find them for a few eps. Maybe they’ll run into GOAT if they get away from PP, and the JR6 will hold them prisoner and get info out of them.
I do think Belle will have a significant role in protecting SB, but we won’t be seeing the SB goings on right at the start of the season.

ParticipantMy own theory is that PP is cursed in a way similar to that of Rumple. It is dark magic, power, and the search for eternal youth that have corrupted PP, but once he was simply a little boy who didn’t wish to grow up. In that scenario, it isn’t necessarily a person who corrupted PP but the search for power.
This is something I’ve been considering too. Rumple’s stuck at the age he was when he inherited the Dark One curse, so maybe Peter is stuck at the age he was when he inherited the Pan curse? PP does traditionally carry a dagger, doesn’t he?
As far as a 17 year old playing such a big, dark role convincingly, I admit, I originally thought they’d cast the role a bit older for that very reason. Have been meaning to see if I can get my hands on a copy of Robbie’s movie Ways To Live Forever, because judging by the clips of it on youtube, it was a serious dramatic role, (he plays a kid dying of leukemia), and he was pretty amazing in it. In the hands of a capable 17 year old actor like he seems to be, I do think PP could be portrayed in a suitably compelling way.
The other day Robbie tweeted that he was watching The Full Monty, which I figured was probably something of a research assignment to familiarise himself with how Robert acts, so he can know better how to interact with him on camera.

ParticipantI can’t see Rumple and Hook being in the same group. They may have agreed to not try and kill each other, but that doesn’t mean they’re BFFs who’ll be able to cooperate.
Can’t see Regina working productively if paired with either of the “two idiots”. She doesn’t respect either of them or value their opinion on what should be done in any given situation. Emma she can work with, because they’ve just worked together to deactivate the failsafe.
Regina and Hook have teamed up before, and I can see them willing to work together again, even if he did leave her to be tortured.
Still reckon Hook and Emma will be paired up. PapaCharming might not like Hook getting too close to his daughter, but Emma would insist that she’s a big girl and can look after herself when it comes to Hook. And when it comes to Hook’s perspective, Emma is the only one of them he really knows or trusts at all, so he’d work best with her.
I most definitely think that whoever Rumple ends up grouped off with, he’s gonna ditch them to go on his solo suicide mission.
As for Rumple/Emma interaction to discuss Bae, while I would love some of that to happen, I really don’t think Rumple will be in the headspace to want to have that conversation. CC interviews all suggest that he’s gonna be in full on Dark One mode to get the job done. He won’t have time for emo discussions about his son. If Emma discusses Bae with anyone, I bet it’ll be Hook, who also wants to know what type of man the kid grew into.

ParticipantIf we have them split into groups, how will they communicate with each other? Because they’ll surely need to communicate with each other if they find anything, and I’m guessing NL doesn’t have great cell service. Maybe each team will have a magic mirror? And, to tie it in with the Rumbelle magic mirror theory, maybe a line gets crossed somewhere and Belle gets patched in? (I posted in another thread just before, wondering if Sidney’s return could potentially have something to do with Belle using a magic mirror.)
I do wonder though, since the SwanQueen fiasco, will the writers deliberately keep Emma away from Regina so as to avoid any unintentional SwanQueen undertones.
Probably wouldn’t be a wise move, because then the fans would cry foul over it. They may tweak the dialogue though, and Lana and Jen might tweak how they interact on camera. Not a major, obvious change, but I can imagine if I was in either of their positions, it’d probably be nagging a bit in the back of my mind, and it’d affect my performance.

Participantwe know neverland runs on belief so maybe the reason PP doesn’t let anyone leave is because it will then weaken NL, the more people he has at NL the stronger NL/he is? And the reason he takes children is beacuse they have the strongest beliefs, they haven’e experiences the harshness of life and lost hope in certain things… once doubt creeps in…
I like this! Cynical adults don’t make for reliable believers.
Taking Wendy may have been part of PP’s plan to get Bae in order to get Henry. Once Wendy came back from NL all distraught, Bae would have taken it upon himself to protect the family. And when the Shadow returned it again threatened the Darling Family but Bae stepped in, just like PP was hoping Bae would do and then it took him.
I have no doubt that that’s exactly why Wendy was taken, and brought back.

Participantbut the entire castle and Emma’s nursery was not?
But the mobile that hung over her crib was. It’s selective magic. 😛
The mine was converted into Rumple’s prison.
Ah, that’s right!
Regarding the trees, I’ve always just sort of assumed that they’re like any other tree in that they can reproduce, and it just so happens that this species is magical. But for whatever reason, they hadn’t been reproducing in recent generations, so the species became extinct.
Maybe this is all just a commentary on overusing our natural resources, and how it can happen in magical worlds just like it happens in our world.

ParticipantWhat we’ve heard about leaving NL:
Wendy: There’s a reason it’s called Neverland. Because once you set foot on its soil, the Shadow never lets you leave.
Hook: It’s not possible to leave Neverland.
It also seemed that Hook was handing Bae over to the Lost Ones to gain the favour of PP, to ensure their own safety, and maybe even because if you stay on his good side, it’ll increase your chances of negotiating your way out of NL, because PP controls who can and can’t leave, (that’s what I’m assuming, at least).

ParticipantI could see that working, Hook likes Emma, Regina I think now has learnt to tolerate Emma and after Emma helped her with the rock I think she has more respect for her.. We all know Rumple with either of them two for too long wouldnt work, which is why they probably split up… Rumple has been there before as has hook so there are your two captains… I can see Regina not wanting to be with Snow for too long either so she chooses hook… rather than join her parents and rumple emma chooses hook and regina probably explaining to her mother that she doesn’t trust them alone together and both captainswan fans and swanqueen fans can perceive it as her being jealous of her crush being with someone else or that she cant part from them LOL
Yep, that all sounds about right to me.
Dying to know where the Genie flashback will fit in! I was hoping we’d see him in SB too, but I doubt it. 🙁
Yeah I’d been hoping to see him in SB too, but with the hints that we won’t see much of SB this early in the season, it may not be likely.
Unless…what if they do have a scene with Belle in SB? People have been throwing around the idea of Rumbelle’s mystery, surprising reunion involving a magic mirror. Sidney knows some stuff about magic mirrors, so if anyone could help Belle to use one, he’s the man.
I am not in that that shipping stuff like everyone else is I just watch the show and because of that I believe you could cover more ground with 3 teams instead of 2.
You don’t have to be into it, but the writers are, and they’ve been playing up the potential love triangle between Hook, Emma and Neal in just about every interview. They’ve already established that Hook and Emma relate to each other, and they want to amp up the drama so there’s maximum emotional confusion for everyone once Neal shows up alive. So they’re gonna keep building on Hook and Emma’s connection, which means that if the large group splits into smaller ones, you can bet your life that Hook and Emma will be working together.

ParticipantI could see that Phee. We have had that idea kicking around for awhile too, since before we met Tiny, but after that episode I changed my mind slightly.
Yeah I know the Neverending Story parallel has been tossed around before. Dunno that the last time I’d taken NL into consideration though. After CC, with all the talk about NL being all about imagination and belief and how that’s how magic is made, and with the title of the first ep and how we’re thinking it relates to Henry…it all sorta fits with the Neverending Story theme and Bastian restoring Fantasia through his belief.
Tiny let us know the reason that the fairies had no more beans. It wasn’t that more couldn’t be grown by the Giants, but the Giants refused to give any more to humans who would use the beans for bad reasons.
We have an explanation for the lack of beans, yes. But not for the lack of enchanted trees. Do we have confirmation that the diamond mine was closed, indicating a shortage of fairy dust? I see the mine closure mentioned here and there, but dunno off the top of my head if it was actually mentioned in show.
