In regards to Sarah only just now heading to Vancouver, but MRJ having already been in Vancouver, I’m wondering if the “little flashback” that JMo mentioned will be at the very start of the ep will involve Neal? MRJ couldn’t have been filming anything in FTL if the MAP actors weren’t there, but he wouldn’t have been in Vancouver already if he didn’t have some filming to do, right?

The first thing I thought about that last line was that the AN is the end of MULAN. The little bit right on the left edge of the shot looks like an L to me. So, “MULAN WHO HE C”…carries? Someone’s running, but Mulan is injured and needs carrying?
I took the “–NG TO LIVE” as “LONG TO LIVE”, since it’s a Rumple-centric episode he might be saying/thinking he doesn’t have long to live (suicide mission).

Yes, if purple is FTL, then I definitely think that’s LAKE (as in Nostos).
Okay, we just talked about this in chat, and with the aid of my desktop dictionary, I think the “ne” word is Neanderthals and it’s Rumple’s dialogue. “I don’t need you Neanderthals….” That sounds like something Rumple would say the the rest of the crew on the Jolly Roger.

Would they get the script for ep2 before they finish shooting ep1? One thing I can tell you for sure, I’m pouting that we don’t know the ep2 title yet.

In one of the JMo interviews, she said it starts with, “A little bit of a flashback,” before picking up right where they left off. First scene flashback, hey?
Will Emma’s magic ability hinder SwanFire? Neal is rather anti-magic after Rumple AND NL. Hmm.
I do hope it’s something they address, because really, he should have a bit of an issue with it. But maybe once he uses magic to get back to her, he’ll be more willing to accept that magic can be a positive thing?
Ah, I’ve been trying to keep my eye on that pair on Twitter to see if either dropped any hints. Hadn’t seen that pic yet so thanks for posting it.
When the moderator, Keck, asked MJR about landing in FTL, it sounded like Keck made a deliberate pause between saying Mulan… and Aurora and Phillip. Then he brought up that apparently “fans” are shipping Neal and Mulan. I LOVED GG’s, MJR and Eddy’s and J.Mo’s responses, because it was exactly what I was thinking. Is anyone really shipping Neal and Mulan on their own merits as characters?
I’ve seen WarriorFire mentioned a couple of times around tumblr and stuff, yep. Guess I can’t really talk because I’ve been shipping Hook for ages with a character we only just found out is gonna show up, but WarriorFire just seems so completely random.
Then, there was J.Mo’s awesome reply to the suggestion, “Watch it. That’s my baby’s daddy.”
Loved that! Though I get the sense from interviews overall that JMo is just excited to have romantic prospects for Emma now, and she’s not taking one side over the other, I did get a kick out of her little SF exclamation.
Luckily, the responses were pretty much everything I as a SF fan could have expected. They won’t spoil the suspense, but I loved Eddy saying the last thing he saw Baelfire do was say “I love you” to Emma. Then MJR saying how he will move heaven and earth and if there’s a captain in the way too–so be it. Perhaps seeing Neal having to struggle to get back to Emma, overcoming obstacles, fighting to get back to her (though not for her, she’s not a prize to be won!), will change some people’s minds that he doesn’t “deserve” to be with her, doesn’t want to be with her, won’t do everything to make sure she has a happy ending.
I sure hope that some more people see the positive in Neal once this part of the story unfolds. Even if not enough for someone to change their mind and ship it, but at least to not hate the character. I’ve come to feel rather protective of our Nealfire, and it bums me out when people only see his faults.
I do think Charming and Snow could change their minds about Hook if Emma did, but really, everyone’s glossing over this bit: how is Emma going to react to finding out Hook’s Milah was Neal’s mom and Rumpel’s ex? Is she supposed to just think “Oh, how romantic!” Or is it not going to come up somehow?
Surely it will have to come up at some point. How many people actually know the details about Milah? Is there actually anyone on that boat who knows apart from the two men themselves? I could see them ending up having a screaming match and the info coming out. I’d like to think it would give Emma pause, at least a few moments to wrap her head around it.
Would Snow and Charming be ok with CaptainSwan? They are both such moral people and Hook goes back and forth so much.
Hook is seriously ambiguous, however he is attempting to change now, so if his effort is genuine, they may decide to give him a chance. I could see Snow caving before Charming does though. She’d wanna give him the chance to prove himself, but Charming won’t be able to forget the innuendo Hook directed at Snow, and he sure as hell wouldn’t want such a sleaze with his baby girl. I actually hope Charming is anti CS, just for the opportunity to develop that father/daughter relationship that we haven’t seen much of yet.

I love that Neal doesn’t really want revenge, that he knows what it has done to people. I think that’s one of the things I love most about Neal.
Same here! He’s a refreshing type of tortured soul. Shows some real maturity on his part.
Eddy and Adam video “Snow White needs to return to herself.” Sounds like all our characters will be trying to get back to who they were originally, before anything, even SB. That should be interesting.
That’s something I noticed in the Lana vids, that she seemed to be implying that Regina’s gonna be a straight up badgirl again, no more attempts at being good. She did prove herself with the failsafe mess, so maybe that’s gonna be her one, big, redemptive moment, and she doesn’t feel like she needs to prove herself any more?

Yes! Should be interesting if this “runs on belief” thing will be used to force some character development. Maybe they’ll only succeed in their mission if they put all doubts about themselves aside?

The way they described that, I almost felt a twinge of sympathy for them. Then I wanted to kick K&H because they’re gonna make me feel sorry for Tamara. GAH!

Emilie was in Vancouver when they were shooting though. And she says in one of the interviews that all she’s seen so far is the first script. So I reckon we’ll get 1 scene of her doing the cloaking spell before they leave SB alone for a while.

This time it’s something Eddy said at the CC Panel, which I don’t think is really spoilerish because it wasn’t a definitive answer and it’s about something in an ep that already aired, but basically, someone asked about Regina’s mermaid comment in Skin Deep and if we were gonna find out more about that, and Eddy did his sly little, “Just keep watching,” thing.
So, basically, I’m guessing that that means Ariel originated in FTL and was indeed Regina’s “mermaid problem”. So, several years before the Curse, Ariel’s trying to make a deal with Regina, and at that time Hook was in NL and had been for a few hundred years FTL time.
Earlier in this thread there was some discussion about Ariel and Regina having made a deal, and I posted how in Anderson’s version of The Little Mermaid it’s said that they can live for a few 100 years, so perhaps Ariel had met Killian in FTL a few 100 years ago, she’s never forgotten him, and now knowing that her few 100 years of life was almost up, she was desperate to find him again, hence the deal with Regina. Wasn’t really convinced of the idea when I first posted it, but now I’m wondering if it could possibly happen.
The issue I had with it was that they wouldn’t want to make Ariel look old enough to be 300 and about to die, so they’d have to come up with something about mermaids not physically ageing that much, and I wasn’t sure if I could buy that, but for the sake of this argument, let’s assume that’s the case.
So, new tweak to my Hookriel headcanon…
Still sticking with Killian having been of a noble bloodline of some sort, and something happening to threaten his family which resulted in his mother dying and his father running off with him and changing their names so they could go into hiding. Papa Jones took to the high seas, and Killian grew up on a ship, potentially not knowing anything about his true, noble identity..
One day, when he was about 16, the ship they were on was involved in an indicent with mermaids. Young Killian had been told stories of mermaids and how dangerous they were all his life, but this was his first enounter with them…
During said incident, Killian ends up thrown in the water and is saved by a 16 year old red haired mermaid, but before he comes to properly and sees her, she has to flee back to the water for fear of the other humans who have spotted them and think she’s gonna kill him. Once Killian is safe back on the ship, the crew tell him how he was almost killed by a mermaid, and then Killian will say something about mermaids being evil and dangerous. Ariel overhears this, (learning his name in the process), as she’s hanging out by the ship and eavesdropping to make sure the cute boy she saved is OK, and then heartbroken, she swims away…
Flashforward to the time of Skin Deep, and Ariel’s coming up on 300 years of age, doesn’t have much time left before she dies and becomes seafoam, and she never forgot that cute boy named Killian Jones. She never gave up her hobby of spying on humans, and one day she overhears some people talking about the legend of the pirate Captain Killian Jones, and how rumour has it, when he disappeared all those years ago, he’d gone to NL…
So Ariel is all, “WTFOMG IF HE WENT TO NL HE COULD STILL BE ALIVE AND I COULD SEE HIM AGAIN HOLY CRAP I NEED TO GET TO NL!” This prompts her to start annoying Regina, which prompts Regina to go to Rumple for help…
This would put Regina in the Ursula role, as she’s the witch who sent Ariel to be in the right place to be with her guy. (Am debating whether or not Tink could have been involved in the deal somehow, but we dunno yet if she’ll be able to flit between worlds or if she’s permanently in NL.) Of course, whatever deal gets struck ends up with Ariel losing her voice, (Regina was Rumple’s student, so if he knows how to take someone’s voice, chances are Regina does too, perhaps that’s what he’ll teach her to help with her mermaid problem, “Just take her tongue, Dearie, then you won’t have to listen to her any more.”) Without her voice, Ariel can’t tell Killian that she saved him back when they were 16 and that she’s loved him ever since and made this massive sacrifice to travel between worlds just to see him again. And because he has no idea about any of this, they won’t end up getting together…then he’ll leave NL…
But now he’s coming back, and Regina’s with him, and Ariel will see them both, and Emma will be there bonding with Hook, and drama shall ensue coz hell hath no fury like a mermaid scorned.
