If Rumple or Regina can cloak the ship, then it would make a good home base for them where they could remain undetected if need be. But if they’re gonna go up against PP, that will have to happen on land. GOAT will be taking Henry somewhere on land. So it’s inevitable that Charmingstiltskins&Co will have to be on land.

We dunno yet if Hook actually set foot on the island in NL in the past, but I like to think he did, because I’m hoping he attempted to rescue Bae, and encountered PP during that. So going with that assumption, he’d know exactly where on the island PP is, and therefore exactly where Henry is likely to be, and how to get there, so they’d all have to stick together so Hook could be their guide. Unless of course Rumple fesses up that he too has been there, (which many of us are assuming he was) and knows his way around, but I’m not convinced he’d want to volunteer that information, at least not immediately, which would be fun to see because Rumple would have to play dumb and let Hook order him around, two things that Rumple would not enjoy.

We don’t know yet if they’ll incorporate the Native Americans that traditionally live in NL. If they do, then again, that’s something that Charmingstiltskins&Co will have be on land for if they’re gonna interact with them. Also, my Ariel headcanon has her living as a human in present day NL, so I’d want them on land to be able to run into her.

So, yeah, I’m not sure that there’ll really be that much time spent on the boat once they get there, which should happen pretty quickly. And I imagine that once they’re there, they won’t wanna hang around on the boat twiddling their thumbs when Henry needs saving.

I hope the writers somehow find a loophole around the ‘never leaving’ Neverland if you step foot on soil.

Dunno that they’d have to create a loophole. I think the thing that controls who can and can’t leave NL is PP. So all they have to do is defeat PP, and then there’s nothing stopping them from leaving. Then they can dump pixie dust on the ship and fly right outta there.

The crackpot speculation is half the fun of this show for me. 😀 Gotta do something to pass the time until the new season’s spoilers start leaking out.

but I’m sure each and every person who got a response is happy for that experience, so it’s still worth something and sweet of the actors to do these things and interact with the fans.

Basically I almost fell out of my chair when I saw Josh responded to me while I was doing this. I got very giggly.

😆 So fun and so cool that you were one of the people he chose to reply to!! 😀

I thought the show that Ella was on canceled so you know she can be available now for more of Once.

Those characters served their purpose in season 1 and won’t be seen again.

Note: Belle wouldn’t have gotten the curse is she wasn’t the only one on the dock, they didn’t have time to give to someone else. 🙁

Rumple gave Belle the cloaking spell because she’s the only person in SB who he actually trusts. Even if BF, a professional at casting spells was standing right there, Rumple still would have given it to Belle, who has never cast a magical spell in her life.

Communication isn’t always about “help” but about “hope” too – knowing the people you love are still out there instead of playing a million bad-case scenarios in your head is a good thing (especially when our main group have enough on their plates already). I don’t think they’d communicate super early on, but maybe at some point something like the mirror would come into play (and would be especially useful in telling Belle how to undo what Rumple told her to cloak SB so that they could return). It would be a nice nod to the story we know and love (B&tB using the mirror) and it would also serve a legitimate purpose storywise in helping them return to SB to be reunited with the rest of their loved ones not on the ship.

This. Almost everyone aboard the JR left behind a friend or someone they care about deeply. To tie all the stories together, it’s going to be important that they all manage to communicate somehow. I’m like 99.5% convinced the Red Room will cover the NL crew and those in FTL. But we gotta get NL and SB to talk to each other, especially once Rumple realizes Bae is alive, then he can ask Belle to go after him. And that’s where the mirror comes in. Now, the mirror is just my pet theory, it could be something else. But I kinda love the mirror.

Agreed with pretty much all of this! I’m not 100% sold on the two way mirror communication yet, just because I haven’t worked Rumple into my Ariel headcanon in any definite way, but I’m coming around to the idea, because it would connect things together quite nicely. The mirror could even work if there’s only one of them and it’s in SB, and Belle figures out how to use it. If Charmingstiltskins&Co learns about Nealfire via Aurora in the Red Room, and Belle has a mirror and is essentially able to eavesdrop on the conversations happening on the JR where they’re debating what to do about it, then she could take matters into her own hands and go after Nealfire.

Hmm. That don’t assume one makes me think even more that Neal is in Neverland with MAP based on the rock in the background.

Mystery of the random big rock aside, in the background of the shot when Nealfire is found, you can see the Safe Haven, and that was definitely in FTL. Here are screencaps to compare, you can see all the same lumps and bumps of rocky outcrops in the distance:

With the introduction of Midas, they basically set it up so that within this show, characters from Greek mythology are just another set of fictional characters. So I think they could make their PP similar to the god Pan, without actually having him portrayed as a god in the all powerful, religious sense.

On the face of it, I quite like the idea that PP could be looking for his doppleganger. But I think Henry’s age would prevent it from being workable.

The main problem I see with the doppleganger theory, (have seen it in another thread too, but that might have been in the spoiler section, can’t recall), is that I doubt they could make PP a genuinely menacing potential big bad if he looks like Henry. They couldn’t have our gang of heroes going in there hell bent on a battle to the death if need be to get Henry back, if the guy they’re gonna have to fight against is an 11 year old.

Also, PP is the one giving orders to Felix, and Felix taking orders from an 11 year old who he dare not defy would just play out as being comical. The actor playing Felix is 26, though the casting call for the character was for a 16 year old. They may have cast an older actor if they wanted the character to play a significant role in the future, (the casting call was for a potentially recurring character), and I’d imagine they might cast PP older for the same reason. There are laws that dictate how many hours child actors can work. If they expanded Jared’s role so he was playing not only Henry, but also PP, who I would imagine will have significant screen time, it just wouldn’t be logistically possible to have the kid working so much.

I could see this theory working if Henry were in his late teens, but the age he actually is, I just dunno.

It’s gonna be really interesting to see how the conflicting emotions and methods of operation play into exactly how they go about rescuing Henry.

Regarding Hook’s role, as far as most of them are aware, he’s the only one who has experience in NL, but we suspect that Rumple must have some experience there too. Whether or not he’ll want to reveal that to the others, who knows. If he wants to keep it quiet, that means he’ll have to play along and let Hook be their leader, which would be torture for him, and fun to watch.
