If Ariel isn’t gonna be a NL mermaid, then the mentions of NL mermaids are the biggest misdirect in forever. The fact that they alluded to mermaids being nasty pieces of work who will kill you if they catch you in the water is the perfect setup for Ariel being the exception to the rule.

So very true! One of my current lines of thinking about Regina’s NL connection is that maybe she’s the one who brought the squid ink back for Rumple, but that’s not a fully formed theory yet, just a little idea I’m toying with.

That siren in Lake Nostos was definitely in human form, wasn’t she? Just popped into my head that maybe she was the mermaid that Regina mentioned to Rumple, and maybe Regina resolving that issue is what led to the lake drying up. But I’m pretty sure she always had legs, so that theory may not be workable, unless Regina was using the term “mermaid” very loosely.

What bums me out about her role being reduced more than anyone else’s is that Red is Snow’s family, for all intents and purposes, they’re sisters. So it’s really sad to see her just fade away. *sigh* Also would have loved for them to develop Frankenwolf.
Ah well, I’m glad for Meghan that she’s been able to snag the new show, and hope it does really well for her. And if she had to find work elsewhere, at least she’s still working in the same town, so hopefully they can work out the scheduling to get Red to pop back into SB at some point.

With a medium like a TV show, I guess you’ve gotta be able to be flexible so you can cater towards what’s working and what’s not and change things up along the way. They’ve said that they know how the story will end, and I’m sure they have major plots in mind that they want to accomplish before the end, but when you’re making a TV show, you simply can’t have all of your ideas set in stone the whole way through.
Last night, as I was about to fall asleep, and was still pondering Once stuff, I decided that Nealfire will find a way back to SB, and will team up with Belle to figure out where Charmingstiltskins&Co went to. Then they’ll take a few beans, (which have been regrown from the plant in Regina’s office), hop on Grumpy’s boat and take it to NL. Then they’ll get involved in whatever’s going down there to defeat Pan. Then each boat load of our heroes will pop a bean and go back to SB.
YAY! Figured he’d get promoted, so it’s good to have it confirmed. 😀
There’s still so much Nealfire story to be told. He’s still gotta sort stuff out with his father, he’s still gotta get to know his son, we’ve still gotta see his adult self interacting with Hook, and I’d sorta love it if he ended up back in NL to face off against Pan. And then there’s all the SwanFire stuff that needs to be hashed out too. Considering all of that, how could they not make him a regular?

Regarding the possibility of seeing Cora in flashbacks, given that we see Alice saying to the Knave, “Once, long ago, I got you back your heart,” I’d say it’s a safe bet.

I wonder, if they have that one long break in the middle of Once, would WL still be on during that time? Has anywhere confirmed how many eps WL is gonna have? Coz that could actually work, if they get people watching both shows at the same time, and then when Once is off for a while, they finish up the WL season, (which already has an established audience), just in time for Once to come back. Perhaps?

Oh good point, I’d forgotten about that dagger drawing. Yet another point to ponder.

I like this because it puts Rumple into contact with PP in the pre-Bae days, and I’d been trying to figure out how they could have Rumple discover PP during his Dark One days without him running into Bae when he was in PP’s custody.

It still exists but it has been burned and all those other beans destroyed, thus why the big concern over how many beans Greg and Tamara had (3) and when they used them.
1st for Neal
2nd for themselves and Henry
3rd Hook originally stole and then brought back.If there were extra beans in the fields the Charmingstiltskins could have just gone and grabbed another one to follow Henry.
They do still have the plant that was in Regina’s office though, and by rights, they should be able to use that to grow more. Maybe by this time next season, everyone in town will be able to go back home to FTL, each with their very own bean?
Agreed with everyone saying this is a great opportunity for Belle to get some awesome character development in her own right. The comments from Adam seem to suggest that they will not be sidelining her, and Emilie sent a tweet about still being a regular. So I’m not worried about Belle having nothing to do.
What I’m wondering about is who else in town she’ll be working with or against, in particular I’m wondering if they’ll start using BF more. The reason I wonder that is that now she’s the most powerful magical being in town, but Rumple doesn’t have any love for BF, and I’m sure Belle knows that, so would she work with her, or against her? Belle would most certainly be working with Grumpy, and he’s a BF fan. That could all get really interesting…but I’m just not willing to assume that they’ll use BF in such a proactive way.
Anyway, I’m sure that Belle will have a major role to play in protecting the town, which I’m sure will involve THO knocking on the door. That will put Belle into a situation she’s really not prepared for, and will be a great chance for her to step up, do some fast thinking and kick some ass.
