“It’s a pirates life for you…”
*sings* Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for meeeeeeeeeee.
Ahem. Moving on….Interesting that Bae gave Hook is real name. I’m curious to see Hook’s reaction to that name as she should recognize it as the son of Rumple and Milah.
As soon as Bae gave Wendy his real name, I figured he’d give it to Hook too.

Hook knew Bae didn’t want to be found by Rumple because he said so to Belle in The Outsider.
Which has had me dying to see Hook and young Bae interact. I may or may not have actually applauded when that kid got hauled onto the deck of the Jolly Rodger.

I second the notion that Neal conveniently was removed from the scene when Hook might start interacting with the main characters again. I want to know what their current relationship is now! We didn’t get much at all with Manhattan other than that NealFire was fine with tying Hook up but since they’re both essentially pirates that may not have any underlying theme to their relationship at all (oh silly pirates)
I’ve got this feeling that they started out with a close friendship, father/son type thing in NL, but at some point it turned sour, and ever since, they’ve been separated in different worlds, so it will be really interesting to see what happens when they do eventually come face to face again.
I’m thinking that Hook volunteering the use of his ship may in some way be him trying to make something up to Bae if they parted on bad terms. Hook regrets hurting the kid, and wants to make amends, but Nealfire may not necessarily want to be BFFs again, if it was something really major that went down between them in NL. And if CaptainSwan is in full swing by the time Nealfire shows up, that just adds even more potential for delicious awkwardness and angst. “First you hooked up with my mother, and now you’ve hooked up with the mother of my child?!”

I never did see David and Hook thing that you are talking about
It’s near the end, where the voiceover is saying to go to the ABC site for a longer look at the ep. The first shot is of David punching Hook.

Hook must be telling a lie; he’s not willing to die just for his revenge. He must have a trick or two up his pirate sleeve.
Most definitely! I wanna see what’s up his sleeve (and then some 😉 ).
Aaannnnd, now I have to go out and won’t be back in front of a computer for over 24 hours. Gonna be in serious spoiler forum withdrawal by the time I get back online. 😕

Wendy said that the shadow showed up to her house around the same time Bae did. What if the shadow is Bae’s shadow?
After all our speculation on this theory over the last week, I totally did keep an eye out for Bae’s shadow, and alas, he had one. *pout*
Love that they’ve made Pan and Neverland so ominous, and can’t wait to see more!

ParticipantAh, thanks for the clarification! It’s agonising, but I love the line. Even all these years later, even though they never made it there, she’s still been unable to let the dream of their Tallahassee just fade away.

I think when the shows end and Emma, Henry and Neal have their own castle they will call it Tallahessee. 😉
The online stream I was watching was buffering all through the ep, so I might have misheard, but on the the beach, did Emma say, “You went and fell in Tallahassee with someone else.”? Coz I thought I heard something like that between me cursing the computer for buffering.

ParticipantLeast favourite was how the stream I was watching kept buffering. ARGH! Usually I download it after a few hours, but don’t have time today and if I hadn’t have watched it live, wouldn’t have been able to see it until tomorrow night coz I won’t be back in front of a computer until then, (missing the forum discussion may kill me). And waiting that long was not an option!
I was sitting here all, “YES, I totally called that Tamara would pop a bean to get rid of Nealfire once he found out she was evil!” Then I started swearing at the computer as it proceeded to buffer all the way through the EPIC SwanFire portal scene. *headdesk*
Didn’t expect to see so much of CreepyPan throughout the ep, but they went all out!
LOVED the moment that Bae was hauled onto the Jolly Rodger!

ParticipantI believe that the element of power the portal lacked was whatever gave it direction. So having the compass added that necessary ingredient to completely power the portal. If you jumped into it without the compass, it wouldn’t have the power to know where you wanted to go and you could have ended up anywhere, or maybe just stuck in a neverending portal that couldn’t actually send you to an actual destination.

Again, why did they need the Compass to return to Storybrook ❓
Because it wasn’t a fully powered portal like when you use a bean They only had a small portion of ashes of the enchanted tree to create the portal with. The compass gave it the extra boost of power it needed to direct them where they wanted to go.
That’s how I’ve always looked at it, anyway.

ParticipantYes, I agree that it exists between the two worlds somehow, connecting them. What Cora did, I always just saw it as her unplugging a blockage that had kept the water trapped out of sight.
