Ariel would fit if done right but again we don’t know who’s playing her, what age etc etc so I’ll wait to officially dive in.
I see, fair enough if you don’t like the mash up technique or are unsure it would play out well for Hook. The age is a good point–if a young teenage actress is cast, I would also be uncomfortable watching an actor Colin’s age in a romantic relationship with her.
If this 15 year old Laine MacNeil who's supposed to be in the finale, (though she's not mentioned in the press release, which is odd) turns out to be Ariel like some have speculated, then the ship is already sunk before it had a chance to sail. This nagging thought will be in the back of my mind all week until we see who she plays. Mind you, K&H have said that we'll hear suggestions about someone we won't see until next season, and now they've had Wendy drop the mermaid bombshell, and there's gonna be a scene with Hook mentioning them too. And they've also hinted that Ariel would be a season 3 story. So I'm cautiously optimistic that Laine won't be Ariel, who will be the character hinted at but not yet seen.
If it were my show, I’d cast Ariel early 20s in order to be able to give her a fully developed romance storyline and a darker edge, (I love the fluffy Disney version, but also love the Anderson version, which isn’t nearly as cheery). But alas, ’tis not my show, so I must just sit and twiddle my thumbs and wait to see what sort of an Ariel they give us.

Participantπ Haven’t had a chance to listen to any podcasts yet. Only just got done watching a proper version of the ep about an hour ago and have been trying to catch up on some forum talk. Remind me to never be away from a computer for over 24 hours on OUAT day ever again. GAH!

ParticipantI most definitely think that the Darlings have/had something to do with The Home Office, and I’m convinced of it because of the language used and the theme of this ep.
The Home Office.
GOAT refer to “the folks back at The Home Office”. “Folks” is a term used for family.
Bae says, “Thank you, Wendy, for making me a part of your family.”
Wendy, if not all the Darlings, are totally involved in this organisation, or at least were in the past if they’re dead now.@Sedorna wrote:
Personally, I hope the Home Office is older than Wendy. In fact, I want it to be really, really old. I want it to have been in existence since ancient, possibly prehistoric times. Ever since magic first came into being, there were people dedicated to fighting it.
Though I wouldn’t mind if Wendy created the Home Office by bringing the different anti-magic groups together, rather than simply start the group out of whole cloth.
It would make for an awesome storyline if it stretched back that far! I’ve been wondering if perhaps the writers who wrote all these fairytales and stories could be part of it, and their role was exposing magic whenever it happened.

A link back to the Darling children would be neat. And Tamara sharing Grandma Wendy’s hatred of magic would make sense. I can see that more easily than her hating magic because of its effects on Robin and Marian: it was magic that cured Marian and Robin used a magic bow, so unless there’s a story that hasn’t even been hinted at yet, there’s no reason to assume Robin or Marian hat any reason to hate magic.
I don’t know if it has anything to do with RH or Marian hating magic. But if Marian and RH came to our world and maybe Marian’s sickness came back and she died, Tamara might hate the magic that was unable to save her mother.
Yep, I could see Tamara hating magic if a situation arose where she was either separated from her parents by it, or they died because of it. Puts her in the same mindset as Greg, which is how they ended up working together.

If there’s teleportation involved, I’d use that to travel instead of paying for a plane ticket.
Nevermind the price, 12 hour flights are absolute killers, and that is why I’d be all about teleportation. Either that or I’d whip myself up a private jet with a king sized bed in it so I could travel in comfort.

Props to Phee, whom I believe predicted Baelfire would first come through the portal in Kensington Gardens in 19th-ceutnry London.
Thanks, feels like I’ve been guessing so much stuff wrong lately, ain’t gonna lie, it’s nice to have guessed something right. π
This whole Shadow thing is really intriguing, including the fact that Wendy never called it Peter Pan. If she’s been flying with this thing, and has seen others it’s taken and trapped, then surely its name has been made known to her, but she just calls it “The Shadow”. How did it become a separate entity? Who was it separated from? Or has it just always been an independent being?
I’m loving that Bae is finally stuck in the middle of the Onceiverse take on the PP story!

And we will be meeting someone new in the final hours of the season who will be sticking around.
βWeβre only going to meet one person this year who will definitely be in season 3,β Kitsis noted. β[But] we may get a few people returning [from earlier episodes]Gotta be Lanie’s character, right? Unless they mean Wendy and the shadow since they are in the “final hours of the season”
I swear I posted a reply to this a few hours ago, but now I don’t see it. Anyway…
I was thinking it was referring to Wendy. “Final hours” suggests before the season finale. They’ve told us we’ll find out who GOAT are working for in the finale. If there’s any new character who’s guaranteed to be back for season 3, it’s the head of The Home Office. Would they introduce yet another new character in the finale to fill that role? Makes more of an impact if it’s someone we already know, especially if it turns out to be Wendy Darling.
The first time I thought I’d posted this, it was before seeing the press release that doesn’t have Freya in it, but there’s something up with that press release, considering even MAP aren’t listed in it.

I think because it was searching specifically for Bae thus wanting only boys until he found him.
Poor Bae can’t freaking catch a break!
@MysteryKat25 wrote:
It does beg the question that if the shadow only wants boys, why did it take Wendy in the first place?
So it could scare Bae into surrendering himself in the place of one of Wendy’s brothers. If this Shadow was after Bae, it knew enough to know that he wouldn’t willingly fly off to a magical world.
Why would this thing be looking for Bae? Strictly something to do with his father? Or is there something special about Bae himself?

ParticipantHadn’t been expecting to see David Anders in the guest cast list, because I didn’t remember him tweeting about being in town shooting for the finale, only for ep 21. We can but hope that they draw him into the magic vs science thing somehow early next season. If they don’t, it would be a terrible waste.
This also makes me wonder about the evacuation and/or destruction of SB. If something like that is happening, you’d expect to see Whale in amongst all of that. And Geppetto. And Augnocchio. Keegan isn’t even listed, and they couldn’t evacuate town without Blue being involved. Actually, I’ve had thought that whatever big stuff is going down in the finale that Blue would be seen at some point. Weird. Freya’s not there either. Are they really gonna introduce Wendy one week, and then show a bunch of Neverland stuff the following week and not show Wendy in some capacity at all in the ep? And the lack of MAP. It’s all very odd.
Was really hoping to have Laine’s secret identity revealed when we got a press release, dammit!

Isn’t there a DiBlasio in the cast list for 2×22? Coincidence?
Oh nice catch! Jack Diblasio as twin two.

ParticipantAdd me to the club who thinks (hopes) that Emma’s extreme magic will deactivate the failsafe. Considering GOAT know what it is, I’m guessing the scene of them activating it will come early on in the ep. And if it’s Regina’s failsafe, she’ll know where to go to find it. But then later, they’re all, including Regina, hanging out at the docks and getting on the boat. So I’m still holding out hope that it gets deactivated by Emma and SB won’t go *POOF*.
