I tried listening to other podcasts but I had to stop. My reasons were lack of knowledge about the show (leading to me screaming in the car)
Sort of along these lines, it frustrates me if I hear a discussion on any podcast that’s about an issue I’ve already read a discussion about on this forum. This place is good for getting quick clarification on certain questions that are raised, because it’s an active group where varying viewpoints are discussed immediately after an ep airs, (and in the case of the spoiler section, weeks before an ep airs), so stuff gets addressed, discussed, and answered quickly. If I then go and listen to a podcast where they’re asking those questions that I’ve already seen answered, it frustrates me. Basically this forum has spoiled and ruined me. 😆
But I enjoy getting all the different viewpoints and perspectives, so I do listen to several other podcasts. There are a couple that I really enjoy the friendly, chatty vibe of, and others that I keep in reserve for when I need some sort of Once hit because I’m in withdrawal when it’s almost been a week, (or longer) between fixes.
This podcast is the only one I consider to be part of my official Once watching ritual though. I need to hear the Initial Reactions ASAP after I’ve downloaded and watched each ep.

ParticipantHere’s the link to the TV Guide article that hints at Ariel, (blurb next to the pic of Hook and Bae):

ParticipantI still think they may not cast Ariel that young, though. I know that traditionally she’s only 16, but for the context of this show, if they want to give the character a full on, true love romance storyline, they could do that more effectively with an Ariel that’s several years older.
They could push her age up to around 20 and still keep the theme of the story where her father doesn’t want her running off. And around 20 makes her mature enough to have a proper relationship.
Obviously I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’d love her with Hook, but even if Prince Eric is someone different, they still need to be able to show that storyline. The Little Mermaid is one of my faves, but seriously, the girl ran off when she was 16 and got married. You may be able to get away with that in an animated movie, but when you’re dealing with real life actors, maybe not so much.

Well, Whale’s gonna be in the next ep. I don’t think they’d have him there just for Rumple to almost stomp. And he’s been the key edge to that whole science vs magic thing for most of the season.
What concerns me is that when David Anders was tweeting about his appearance in 21, he said it was “all too brief” of a visit to Vancouver, or something along those lines. So I’m thinking that the “kiss my boot” scene may be his only appearance in the ep. And I don’t recall David tweeting anything about being there for the shooting of the finale. It’s a seriously wasted opportunity if they don’t get Viktor involved in this storyline, but I’m not getting my hopes up for it. 😕

Hi! New poster here and as a science major just had to give my two cents. Science is merely the name we gave to the observation and manipulation of nature’s laws. Its only different when you’re talking about “types” of sciences. Such as biology or physics. I don’t think they could define some good or evil. Frankienstien would lean more towards the biological science, while I really think Greg/Tamara are messing with biochemisty. If that were true (which I doubt this is Once after all 😆 ) then I’m thinking certian metals from here are able to put some kind of stop a person’s ability to produce magic. Which then would probably mean that Regina’s body has to be creating magic itself (or stopping her from getting it elsewhere). I hope that gave some kind of clarity to part of your question. I managed to confuse myself 😆
I’m glad you said something before I got to…. (also a science person, Neuro/biomech engineering grad) I actually thing they are more Physics and weird engineering because of their weird tools i.e. manipulating the cuff, the tazer, electro-shock therapy… all screams engineering to me.
In the Greetings From Storybrooke Podcast they mentioned that we can’t really figure out exactly how they’re blocking Regina’s magic until we know exactly how Regina makes magic. Greg said it was messing with every magical bone in her body, but that was likely just a turn of phrase. From what we’ve seen, Regina, like Cora, wasn’t actually an inherently magical being, they just learned magic. But perhaps there has to be something in your DNA for you to even be able to learn it? Or if you use it enough, does it actually become a biological part of you? And how did “The Home Office” gather information to research this and develop gadgets that actually work?

I found a picture of Andrew Airlie, and is it me or does he look like an older version of Colin? If it was intentional, they might be still making a slight nod to that tradition.
He does look a bit Colin-ish, particularly with the stubble. K&H like to give little nods to things they can’t full on incorporate into the show, so I could see them giving a nod to that tradition of the two characters being played by the same actor.

Well, George’d have to be as long lived as Gold and Neal for him to be able to do it in present day, but I like the speculation that he may have a connection to The Home Office. I could see him as the one who gave birth to it after losing his children to magic, maybe never even seeing them again.
This is a cool idea, and I could imagine him calling such an organisation “The Home Office” if his mission was to try and bring his children home.

There are, after all, pictures of the Lost Boys in Stevenson from the finale, potentially suggesting that they arrived at Storybrooke at some point, and I think it was mentioned that Freya Tingley, who we now know plays Wendy, was with them.
I'm really curious to see the context those Lost Boys appear in. If they stowed away when Hook left NL, then that would explain them being in SB. But there's also the chance that the pics were just of the actors hanging out on the dock before getting onto the ship to film something, so perhaps the scene they shot wasn't actually set in SB. Though I do have a vague recollection of some scene that involved kids running down the street? Will have to see if I can find it to see if I'm just mis-remembering. Pretty sure that Freya, and the other girl (Laine?), were mentioned as being seen on set on the same day that the Lost Boys were hanging around.

Maybe along with feeling each others pain, if one dies the other dies too?Well that would certainly explain the use of the word “dangerous”. 😕

ok, I thought a canon was a pair of people that are just friends to of the same sex so I must be wrong on a cannon thing where do you people come up with this stuff cannon, shipping instead of relationship?
Canon means established. Snowing is canon, it’s a relationship that is obviously endgame and meant to be. It’s all internet speak
And it’s not only used in reference to couples, and not only for tv shows. “Canon” is any fact that’s written by or officially confirmed by the original author/s of any fictional work.

I know it’s a Swanfire scene. I feel people are perceiving it as “Swanfire has won” moment.
It’s a little victory in that it’s official confirmation that Neal at least hasn’t moved on. This indicates that the SwanFire romance isn’t dead in the water, and that it’s a theme they intend to explore.
The way I could see this playing out is that Neal’s confession freaks Emma out, because she’s reeling that he still has feelings for her like she still has feelings for him, and the potential of trying again is sort of scary, which is why she’s been trying to deny it to herself up until now.
I don’t think that this scene will end with a big, happy, loved up reunion. I think that this may well be the last time Emma (or anyone else) sees him before he disappears to wherever MAPvillie ends up being. So if they argue here, and then he disappears, that’s angst for Emma over the last words she said to someone she cared about having been said in anger, and also regret if she doesn’t confess her true feelings back to him when she has the chance.
Losing Neal all over again will drive her to find someone to grab onto to steady and distract herself, someone she can express all her pent up emotions with, and that person will be Hook. Then once CaptainSwan get into the swing of things, Neal will show up again and Emma will get thrown for yet another emo loop, because there’s still so much unresolved between SwanFire, and they won’t be able to ignore it.
Then there’ll be a Shipping War to rival the Ogres Wars.
PS. My browser is a CaptainSwan shipper, because it crashed right after I’d watched the clip. 😛

It also sounds like Bae goes straight to FictionalLondon first and then NL.
Do we even know that London’s intended to be a fictional version? Bae’s destination was meant to be The Land Without Magic, I’d think that’s supposed to be the real one.
If so, then they’d best explain why Nealfire told Emma that this world wasn’t his first stop. Just sayin’. The way they call it, “back in 19th century London” in the press release does make it sound like it’s London in our world. I’d be fine with that being the case, if not for what Nealfire told Emma, which is fast becoming a pet peeve for me. GAH!
BTW, I don’t really buy the, “It was like a different world back then,” explanation, because even if uneducated Bae wouldn’t make the connection that 19th century London and modern day America were in the same world, Nealfire’s had plenty of time to learn him some Earth history.

ParticipantThat would be cool! Unless maybe it’s not even Peter Pan who is the “hinted at but not seen” character they were talking about? Maybe Hook’s telling Bae about Triton and his daughters, or something? I can’t freaking wait to hear exactly what Hook says!
