If Neal was shown with a shadow in present day it doesn’t mean his shadow wasn’t Pan at some point. Part of his back story could be losing his shadow when he went through the bean hole but then re-finding it and stitching it back to his body, with Wendy’s help, once he was in NL.
All the bits I mentioned in my previous post were from the 8 minute preview where he meets Wendy, at which point he’d have to be shadow-less for the theory to work. Results are inconclusive.

I’m anxiously waiting to see who that 15 year old girl in the mystery role is playing. If she’s Ariel, then the Hookriel ship is dead in the water. I keep thinking that they’d cast Ariel a bit older, around 20ish, because they can’t really give a 15 year old a full on romance storyline with anyone. Also, mermaids are stereotypically somewhat seductive, which they couldn’t show with a 15 year old in the role. But who knows, so I don’t wanna get ahead of myself and totally assume what they have planned, considering how often my speculations end up being wrong. *sits and twiddles thumbs impatiently*

Yeah, it was almost definitely discovering that there was a weapon to kill The Dark One that caused Hook to leave NL when he did. If he found out from Bae, I’m dying to see how that all went down, and why Hook left instead of trying to get more info out of him. And then whenever Bae did leave himself, what was his reason? The hiatus before season 3 is gonna really suck, given how eager I am for them to delve into this stuff.
I also like RG’s idea that Bae’s shadow is Peter’s—does the scene of Bae ever have a shot where he ought to have a shadow and does not or has one visible? Hey we searched for a freckle on a hand….
😆 Well FWIW, there didn’t appear to be a shot of him in the street that showed where his feet met the road. There’s only one section when he’s inside where you see his feet touching the floor, and my tired eyes didn’t see anything shadowy, however that part of the shot is sort of dimly lit, and he’s running over a patterned rug, so I can’t say for certain. It’s at the 51 second mark if anyone else wants to investigate. The shots of Nana under the table have what looks like a shadow next to her, which was likely cast by something in front of her, but it doesn’t appear to move like you’d expect his to if he’s backing away from her.
If I were the showrunners and wanted to drop the Ariel bomb right at the very end of the season, I’d just have a single shot of a human with fabulous red hair, and would leave the fans in agony until next season before showing them the mermaid. 😈

So if we assume that Bae went from NL to NJ, that jump was made 7 years after Curse Day. But Hook had already left NL for FTL before Curse Day. So Hook left NL before Bae did?
Or do timey wimey differences between different worlds negate this whole argument?

If he arrived in our world in 1991 at age 14, that means he’s only been in our world and aging for 10 years by the time they meet when he’s 24. Emma’s been in our world and aging for 17 years when they meet. So he arrived here 7 years after Curse Day. Right?

Judging by the birthdate on Neal’s wanted poster, (which obviously can’t be an actual birthdate, but it’s the only guide we have for his perceived age in our world), he was 24 and Emma was 17 at the time they met.
How long after Rumple going Dark One do we think the beanhole happened? Rumple went Dark One on Bae’s 14th birthday. Let’s give Rumple at least a year to build up his reputation, making Bae around 15 when he went down the beanhole.
24 (his perceived age in our world) – 15 (the approx age he was stuck at) = 9 years he was living in our world aging, by the time he met Emma when she was 17. She’d been in our world 17 years, he’d been in our world about 9. Which means he had to come here at some point after the curse was cast, right?
But Hook was back in FTL before Curse Day, so he must have left NL before Bae did. Yes? Or no? It’s 2:30am and I don’t like math even when my brain isn’t half asleep, so I’ve likely messed something up here. 😕
