That bit in the Disney trailer is also creepy! Any shadowy figure with glowing eyes = creepy in my book.

All the ideas about what Neverland may be like are fascinating. Really can’t wait to see K&H’s take on all of this!

HOOK TELLS GREG AND TAMARA ABOUT THE BEAN FIELD

You mean this part? I don’t see a contradiction. Hook has clearly aligned himself with Tamara and Greg and he is the person to ask/tell about the beans, as he we have seen him use it twice now.

He’s the only one to have actually seen the beans in Regina’s office. And if he was smart, he didn’t already tell GOAT about them off screen during The Evil Queen. Those beans were his insurance policy. He had to see how the thing with Regina would play out first. If it turned out Regina got the best of GOAT, then he wouldn’t want them getting the beans that he and Regina would need. Now that it is in fact clear that GOAT have the upper hand and are the ones he can use to his own best advantage, he can safely let them in on the secret about the beans in ep 21. For the last part of that scene with GOAT vs Regina, Hook stood back and watched, taking in what the others were doing and saying, so he could calculate his next move.

If it were super dark I highly doubt Wendy would be so excited to go there. My best guess is like the Neverland we all know, sure there are dark places but also fun & exciting.

But check out the thing with the creepy eyes that she’s all super excited to fly off with. Dunno that I’m willing to trust Wendy’s judgement of what’s exciting, just based on that brief clip. 😆

I’m currently siding with the failsafe having been Regina’s doing, just because it seems that she’s the one who brought over Maleficent, trapped her as a dragon underground, (Rumple said he knew she wouldn’t be able to resist it, suggesting that wasn’t his doing), and made her guard something that was being kept in Snow White’s coffin. If Rumple had a failsafe, he wouldn’t hide it in that way.

The thing about Peter being abandoned is that that is how HE sees it. I can’t remember which book, but he does attempt to go back to his mother, peers into the window and sees her with a new baby. He thinks she has forgotten him, no longer loves him and decides to leave once again. The truth is that he has passed on while she has remained with the living and moved on though still never having forgotten her son.

It’s from Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, (though this blurb doesn’t mention anything about him having passed on):

Peter feels rather guilty for leaving his mother, mostly because he believes she misses him terribly. He considers returning to live with her, but first decides to go back to the Gardens to say his last good-byes. Unfortunately, Peter stays too long in the Gardens, and, when he uses his second wish to go home permanently, he is devastated to learn that, in his absence, his mother has given birth to another boy she can love. Peter returns, heartbroken, to Kensington Gardens.

It is interesting that he feels abandoned by a parent. Sounds familiar.

Valid points you raised. Yet, having watched the first 10 mins of 2×21, the fail-safe gem is now in the hands of GOAT. That just spell disaster in my opinion. If she somehow triggers the self-destruct button, there won’t be anything Regina or Rumple could do to prevent SB from vanishing.

True. They don’t know what it is yet though. Tamara’s all, “What’s this?” and Greg’s all, “Dunno,” and Tamara’s all, “We’ll send it to head office.” So unless Regina told Hook, and he tells them, or Regina spills the beans herself, (unlikely), they don’t even realise what they’ve got as of the start of ep 21.

So, the rest of SB’s residents would have to go somewhere. How many beans were there? At least 2, but maybe 3.

Yeah, I’d guess 2 or 3. Seemed to at least be a couple in the bean pod that Tamara opened to show Greg.

One will be used for GOAT to kidnap Henry to another world, one will be used by Hook and Co. to track down Henry, and if there is a third bean, my guess is the dwarves and other minor characters would travel to EF.

Well then we get into the mechanics of how many people can jump into a single portal before it closes. The hat that Emma, Snow and the Wraith went through closed up before Charming had a chance to jump in. Jefferson and Regina jumped in their hat portal together. Snow and Emma jumped into their lake portal holding hands. GOAT are gonna jump into a portal while they’re hanging onto Henry.

The only time we’ve seen a larger number of people travel on one bean, it’s been Hook’s ship. I’d been thinking that they use the ship again from SB purely because it’s the only way a large number of them can travel together and guarantee that they all end up in the same place. Now it also makes sense if they have limited beans and lots of people who need to use it.

But there’s no vessel big enough to fit every other left over SB resident if they only have 1 bean to use between them to escape before the town implodes. 😕

Still, Captain Hook coming back did give the episode some humor that it needed, and we got to see a bit more of his character when he talks about how empty he will be after his revenge.

Loved that bit, though it was really sad with him talking about it being an end, not a beginning. Maybe he was just a little bit relieved that Rumple was still alive, because at least now he still has a reason to get up in the morning.

Also, his scene with Maleficent was really cool. Normally the CGI is either okay or bad, with the occasional good. I felt that this was one of the few episodes where it was good. Something about the design of Maleficent was pretty cool.

It’s strange how sometimes the CGI can be a real miss, but other times it’s spot on. All the caves and Maleficent were pretty much flawless.

I think it’s a pretty sure thing that SB is going to vanish into thin air, just like it appeared out of nowhere.

I’m inclined to agree. So a few questions that brings up:
    1) What happens to the rest of the cast? Dwarves, fairies, Red/Granny, rest of the townsfolk?

Minor main characters like Ruby and the dwarves will dedicate themselves to recolonizing the EF.

How many useable beans do they have now, though? If there are none left on the vines, then there’s only what’s in Regina’s office, and GOAT are gonna get those. When they had a whole field of beans, fair enough, everyone gets a bean. But they’re in short supply now. We know that GOAT use one. We assume that Charmings&Co use one to transport Hook’s ship. But where is everyone else in SB gonna get a bean to be able to get home?

Or will there be some other portal method discovered before season’s end?

Once Henry is kidnapped and Regina teams up with the others to find him, she’s got no need to destroy SB any more, so will it even actually happen?

I think there is a connection between the wraith and that shadow peter pan thing too.

They have such a similar feel about them. The eyes are different shape though, and the Wraith had no legs, but I can’t shake the feeling that they’re related somehow, especially if they want to relate the end of the season to the beginning. It would tie things together nicely.

While I don’t think Peter Pan’s shadow is the Wraith, I think NL is a sort of “shadow world” where lost souls might go. So, it’s possible we’ll see Mulan, Aurora, Philip, and Baelfire in NL if that is where souls get sent after being sucked by the Wraith.

I hadn’t really bought into the theories about the Wraith’s captured souls going to NL before. But I’m starting to consider it as an option, after seeing the ShadowyPanThingo.

Did Barrie give Peter Pan a specific origin story, or was he always just that boy in Neverland who never grew up?

Yes, Barrie did give Peter Pan an origin story. I found this on Wikipedia:

Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens: Infant Peter flies from his home, makes friends with fairies, and takes up residence in Kensington Gardens. It is a “book-within-a-book” that was first published in Barrie’s The Little White Bird.

Cool. Didn’t see any mention in their blurbs there about how he actually got to NL, but the Neverpedia.com site says, “He flies to Neverland after being “abandoned” by his mother.” So Barrie’s FictionalLondon was a land with magic, and Peter was just a Londoner baby who ran away to the park to hang out with fairies. So I wonder if K&H’s FictionalLondon will have resident fairies too? Or if they’ll borrow any of Barrie’s ideas at all for their own Pan origin story?

Carlyle: I’d be sincerely upset to lose Mr. Gold’s shop. I’m very, very protective of it.
Goodwin: Oh, yes, you are! [Whispers] None of the rest of us are allowed to touch anything in there.
Parrilla: Even the props that once belonged to us! Or we’ll get hit in the hand with his cane

I still think there is more to Tamara than just “magic hater” she has to hate it for a reason.

Indeed! I can see how it could play into the theory of her being related to Robin and Marian, if something magical that happened in FTL doomed her family somehow.
