Me, me, me. That’s MEEEEEE. I’m a stepmom. There is no hope for us when it comes to Fairy Tales – we are doomed from the start. Society grooms us from childhood to view the likes of me as the scum of the earth – capable of trying to poison her stepchildren with fruit, making her beautiful step-children do all of the household chores in order to deny them access to royalty while allowing her ugly biological children the run of the palace, blah, blah, blah. Yes, that pretty much sums up an average day in my life. Unfortunately I don’t look quite as good as Regina in my standard issue stepmother skin-tight black leather pants and cape.
[adrotate group="5"]Yeah, but no one can play evil bordering on schizophrenic quite like Lana!! That woman is amazing. She doesn’t even have to speak. You can see her move through all of the different “elements” of evilness in both Regina and the EQ in just the way she holds her face. I don’t know whether to think it’s cute or to be slightly disturbed that my 10 year old son seems to be in love with her!! 😕
It will be interesting to see what they do with Rumple (and all of the characters for that matter). I love Rumple – he is my favorite character – and I am one of his biggest supporters in agreeing that that I think he was a well intentioned person who unwillingly becamed cursed because he didn’t truely understand what he was getting himself into when he tried to save Bae from the Ogre Wars. I don’t believe he realized he was killing a human when he stabbed Zoso and was horrified when he realized he had. I think he did think he was being tricked by Belle and, although his behavior was not acceptable, I think it was understandable given his situation and his emotional state. BUT – I am guessing that OUaT is going to be an extremely successful show which will hopefully mean many happy seasons for all of us fans. That also means that there is no way they can have Rumple be strictly a “misunderstood but lovable” evil guy throughout the entire series – at some point they are going to have to drop a bomb on all of us Rumple fans, but I still think that when all is said and done he will end up redeeming himself in the end. Because if not, it will have been a horrendous waste of really great suits and perfectly good leather pants.
This probably isn’t the official way to do it but my original name was rumplegoldfankristi but it got made fun of in a podcast because it was so long so I decided to shorten it.
I have two email accounts – one I use all the time and one I hardly use at all, plus my son has an account that he uses for specific things that I monitor. I created a new account with my new username (rumplegoldfan) using my secondary email address. Then I went into my orginal username’s account and changed the email address to my son’s email. Then I went into my new username’s account and changed the email to my primary email account. And then I think I went back and changed my old username’s email back to my secondary email address just to get it off my son’s account.
The system won’t allow you to have two usernames with the same email address so if you only have one email address go out to gmail (or some other free email provider) and create two new email addresses for free so you can go through the above process.
I’m sure Daniel could probably reset your username in system but I didn’t want to bug him and it only took a few minutes to do this. The only thing is that your join date will be different and your number of posts won’t be accurate but that didn’t bother me. For my first few posts with my new username I made sure to let people know it was still me.
To add to my list I am calling that Rumple and Cora were married, Bae is Rumple and Cora’s son, Cora abandoned Rumple and Bae because her power was more important than they were

Hmmm . . . good point. Interesting. I have had so many theories about August at so many different times I can’t keep track of them all. Bringing this up takes me back to my August is Henry’s father theory (which doesn’t preclude him also being Bae). It would be interesting if Henry’s father only stuck around long enough to, um, do the deed – knowing that Henry was a part of the whole plan. It does make me wonder why Emma wouldn’t remember him but I guess if it was a one night stand and he’s 10 years older now . . .
I guess he could also be Henry’s dad and NOT be Bae (of course then I would have to come up with some clever theory of how he would figure out the whole FTL issue . . .)
Didn’t Gold give Henry to Regina? I thought that was discussed in the pilot or the second episode. Maybe I just assumed Gold was the one who gave Henry to her??
I don’t know if I think she has Belle’s heart. I’m inclined to think that Regina realizes that Belle is special to Gold and, as strange as this sounds, ripping people’s hearts out and keeping them in her vault seems like a very average every day thing for Regina to do. I would think that she would want to keep Belle “whole” if she wanted to be able to use her as a pawn to get Gold to do what she wants. I think that already taking her heart would be somewhat anti-climatic, I think that the implied threat of what Regina has the power to do to Belle since she has her locked up would be of more concern to Gold – especially since he already thinks she’s dead. I would think that “Surprise, here she is – just as perfect as the day YOU kicked her out of your castle so that I could capture her and keep her locked up all this time would be much more effective than, I have had her all this time and I ripped her heart out and now I control her just like everyone else in this town. I think that Gold would be more likely to cave to Regina’s requests knowing that Belle has the potential to be with him exactly the way she was before he kicked her out, rather than knowing that Regina has already had her heart ripped out – I think that would just make him beat Regina with his cane.
I’m still stuck on Regina saying that he seems familiar. I don’t see August seeming familiar to her as either Pinocchio or Bae. They told us to pay attention when August talked about Lemurs – which we all then ran and read about Lemurs – the cute little monkey like creatures. But I think he was actually talking in riddles about Lemures – the ghosts of ancestors who had less than stellar deaths. I’m wondering if somehow August is a human form of a ghost of someone important to Regina like her father or Daniel. I wondered about Daniel since he was a stable boy and the motorcycle could represent a horse. Both Henry Sr. and Daniel would probably seem familiar to Regina in another life because they are probably the two people she loved the most – so even if they didn’t look the same, something about their mannerisms would seem familiar to her. If breaking the curse is also the key to destroying Regina’s evilness (which I think it is) both Daniel and Henry Sr. would both have reasons to want to help Emma destroy the curse. And if Rumple somehow had something to do with creating Cora's evilness, both Daniel and Henry would seem to have a reason to want to use the dagger to initially hurt Gold but than potentially work with him to end the curse.

After I watched the episode a second time I took away that when Cora said “Well played, you’re learning” after Regina talked to SW about how they were going to be a family after she married the king, she realized that she had been “played” by her mother for years herself. But she goes along with the charade for a few minutes by overplaying the good girl routine and saying she needs to get out of her dress so it won’t get dirty. Which I thought was interesting because Cora was standing there in black and Regina was in a beautiful white gown which she obviously wasn’t going to get dirty anywhere in the castle. I think that was meant to be symbolic – she was saying in an overly sweetly voice that she needed to get out of the beautiful white dress because she doesn’t belong in it anymore. And then when Cora told her she was proud of her, I do think there was a brief moment when she was glad to hear those words from her mother but then I think she quickly realized that her mother is a head case – how do you rip the heart out of the man your daughter loves one minute and then tell her you are proud of her the next. When she turns around and has the EQs voice for the first time – I think she has decided to no longer care what her mother, or anyone else thinks about her, she has decided to look out for only herself. I think something that probably also occurred to Regina is that SW said that she told Cora about Daniel because she didn’t want Regina to lose her mother. I think in those few short scenes Regina realized that she never really had a mother, in the traditional sense, in the first place. So there wasn’t anything for her to lose anyway.
