ParticipantCan I just share how RELIEVED I was when I saw that there was another actor playing the part of the Stable Boy – who I am assuming (praying) is playing the part of the commoner EQ was in love with?? When I first read the full synopsis I was like “Oh please, someone tell me that Rumple is NOT going to be the Stable Boy that Regina was in love with,” and I was frantically searching for the name of an actor playing the part of the Stable Boy.
But then I got to thinking and, WOW – what a testament to Lana Parrilla’s acting abilities that I can’t stomach the thought of EQ/Rumple or Regina/Gold together since Rumple/Gold are my favorite characters. Because in person Lana seems like such an adorable, down to earth, sweet person – like someone you would want to be friends with. Then on screen – she is someone you want to throw things at the TV at and yell obcenities to during the show. Like I seriously hate her on the show (love to hate her, you know what I mean?). Even just the way she has the ability to make her facial expression change – not even showing emotions – just the way she “sets” her face when she is playing Regina – she becomes the Mayor and she holds herself like the Mayor. I love looking at behind the scenes pictures of Lana because there is such a massive contrast between her pictures when she is just hanging out waiting to shoot a scene and then when she is filming. She is dressed exactly the same – but just becomes a totally different person just by the way she stands and holds her face. I think my 10 year old son has his first celebrity crush on her. Everytime I am on a Twitter session with Robert Carlyle he keeps asking when the EQ will be on and evertime she is on camera he says “She’s really pretty.” He’s a child performer and he keeps asking “I wonder if she likes working with kids?” 😯

ParticipantRuby has those red streaks in her hair. I’m guessing that if she can turn into a wolf in Storybrooke those red streaks are the equivalent of her red hood in FTL. And the girl is always wearing red. She still has her wolf senses. By the way, I still think Dr. Whale is a wolf. I think he might be the wolf from the 3 Little Pigs. It actually makes more sense to me now that we know that Ruby is a wolf. If Dr. Whale is also a wolf it makes sense that he has been drooling all over Ruby – he is attracted to her since she is a female wolf!

ParticipantI think Regina must have always remembered her FTL life. Otherwise I don’t know how she would have known how to access her heart vault underneath her father’s “casket” in the cemetary. I do think that probably as time went on (well, I guess not really) she may have gotten “comfortable” with time standing still and fell into a pattern of being large and in charge as mayor of Storybrooke and Henry’s mother; just gotten used to the curse working. And then Emma showed up and suddenly Regina has to face the facts that the curse isn’t going to go exactly as she has planned. I think Rumple was just sitting tight waiting for Emma to show up on 28th birthday – there wasn’t any reason for him to confront Regina or let on that he remembered because nothing was going to start to happen until Emma showed up and he knew that. I honestly think the writers HAD to have Rumple remember his FTL. I don’t think it would be much of a show if Regina was the only person in Storybrooke who remembered FTL and the curse – I think it would fall short of storylines. Besides what Snow did to tick the EQ off, the power struggle between Rumple and the EQ and Gold and Regina is the central element of the show.

ParticipantGraham died because he strayed off his Storybrooke path and started to think for himself. It didn’t have anything to do with kissing Emma – that was thrown in there by the writers to make us think that kissing Emma was the reason he remembered. Emma coming to town started time moving forward which has caused things to happen which are making the characters have deja vu moments or are making them realize that they are feeling unsatisfied with their life in Storybrooke. Once they start to do something about these things they start to remember more of FTL and/or they get more confident and begin to make their own decisions which causes them to deviate from the set life/path they had in Storybrooke. This unsettles the balance that had been on-going for years which creates a ripple effect and other characters then begin to feel that something is off in their own life and the pattern continues. I believe that Regina is killing people or making them disappear in order to try to maintain or restore balance so that the curse can continue or not be broken by Emma. Graham realized that he didn’t feel anything and then Henry explained that it was because he was the Huntsman and had his heart removed. So Graham realized he was missing his heart. Once his heart was freed from the box in Regina’s vault he could remember his FTL again – but them Regina crushed his heart and he died. I think Regina did something similar to Kathryn because she realized she didn’t really love David – just like Abigail realized she didn’t love James.

ParticipantI also wouldn’t discount the fact that Regina hasn’t done anything to directly harm Emma because of Henry. In all the interviews I have seen with Lana she has always said that she plays the part being very aware that Regina does love Henry. So keep in mind that although she hates Emma, she does recognize that she is Henry’s birth mother and that actually doing something to harm her, especially to kill her, would devastate Henry. And she is aware that her son believes that she is the EQ, so harming or killing Emma would only make her relationship with Henry only more strained than it already is. Not having seen enough of her backstory yet, I don’t know what happened to her early love. But in FTL she killed the thing (her father) she loved most of all in order to inact the curse. At that point it seemed that, not only was her father the thing she loved most of all, but her father seemed to be the only person who loved her. In Storybrooke, Henry seemed to have been the only person who had the potential to love her – appearantly that wasn’t going well even before the book came along. Then when Henry got the book he became convinced that his mom was an Evil Queen. Since time stood still in Storybrooke before Emma came along there wouldn’t have been any reason for Regina to have needed to use magic. But once Emma came along I think the threat of losing Henry, the only person who seems to have the possibility of loving her, could be the reason she hasn’t used her power/magic in obvious ways . . .yet.

ParticipantI think they could easily get around the DNA issue. When they try to identify something by DNA they need to have a sample to match it to – which means they need to have something of Kathryn’s to try to match it to. If the heart doesn’t match whatever sample they have provided of Kathryn’s they will simply determine it is not Kathryn’s heart. They won’t then say “Hey, maybe it’s David’s heart. Let’s get a DNA sample from him and run it against the heart to see if it’s a match.” Emma said that there are no other missing people in Storybrooke so they would determine that the heart (if it is found to be human) must have come from someone outside of Storybrooke. They would never think to check the DNA of someone who is alive against a heart.

ParticipantI don’t think the reference to Nepal was just a geographical error. Everything I read was way too specific that lemurs are ONLY found in Madagascar for that. The writers could have just as easily said he enjoyed his time in Madagascar the most because of the lemurs. I agree that the reference to lemurs has to do with the beliefs about their ghost like qualities and the myths about being the spirits of dead ancestors. I am actually wondering of maybe August might be the reincarnated spirit of EQ’s father? Regina said that August seemed familiar to her when she saw him. And the legend of the lemurs says that they are the spirit of ancestors who were mocked while alive or killed in a cruel fashion. Her father was definately killed in a cruel fashion. Not sure if he was mocked while he was alive. It sounds like EQ’s mother wasn’t a really nice lady so maybe she mocked him when he was alive. It did seem like he really loved her though and he knew about the curse and was trying to talk her out of it. Maybe he has come back to try to help Emma break the curse so that he can free Regina from it?

ParticipantThought is was interesting in the section where she talks about her interactions with Mr. Gold where she said that Emma believes he has his own agenda and she has to decide if she is going to choose between the lesser of two evils to go along with his methods in order to save the people she loves. Interesting because that is basically what Rumplestiltskin decided to do with the Dark One when he wanted to protect his loved one, Bae, from the Ogre wars. That didn’t end so well for him.

ParticipantThe quote above from Kitsis is interesting. I think the thing he is trying to point out is that August said that he saw the lemurs in Nepal. From everything I read, lemurs are NOT found in Nepal.

ParticipantSo Robert Carlyle just replied to my question regarding Mr. Gold’s sleeping attire. Are you ready??? Mr. Gold would wear . . . gold speedos!!! Appearantly my wish for the Full Monty thong didn’t have enough bling!!
