KeymasterI just saw your other post in a thread:
This officially kills Hook as Pan and Bae as Pan.
Bummer. I held on to Nealfire Pan for so long. The actor needs to be at least 19/20 to pull of something with Wendy (even if it’s just enemies). They also need to age Wendy because they had her as 13 in the show but she’s 19 in real life and that was…odd. That’s why so many of us thought she’d be Ariel.

KeymasterWell, that’s one good thing to know. lol.
I imagine he’ll be young-ish (the character at least, they sometimes cast older actors to play teenagers).
Make your predictions now! Anyone got a teenage-young adult actor they’d like to see play PP?"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterCharming and Snow knowing about the Dark One’s dagger was always a bit of a mystery, but I’m blaming Blue for that one. They DID plot with Blue (and Ella, Thomas, and the Dwarves) to lock Rumple up back in FTL. I think Blue would know about the dagger, possibly, and that information might have come up as they were figuring out how you lock up The Dark One. That’s about the best excuse I can come up with for why the two idiots knew. (I love them but they earn the title at times.)
I like this explanation. It has always bothered me that so many people seem to know but I by the BF telling them during War Council meetings.

KeymasterSome new ones!
OUATinWL: Once Upon a time in Wonderland, the new series
I think sometimes people new to internet lingo don’t know this one
Ship (as a noun): the pairing of two individuals in a relationship (Snowing, Rumbelle, CaptainSwan, SwanFire)
Ship(as a verb): For example “I ship Rumbelle.” In other words, the ship (as a noun) you support.
These aren’t acronyms, but we use them quite a lot around here
Onciverse/Onceivere: The OUAT universe, the entire conceptual world of the show and the mythology in it.
Canon: a highly contentious term. In general you can interchange it with “established as law or as truth.” It means that OUAT has said “this is true to our show, it will not be changed on the show.” Snowing is canon: Snow and Charming are True Love and that’s not going to suddenly change. Often times it is thrown around before it is shown on the show (shipping wars, for example). Until A and E and show actually show it to us, it’s not canon.

KeymasterAs for the issues with the t-word and Henry’s book: I believe we saw a picture of Jefferson in the book, but not Alice. The picture Henry was looking at in that episode was actually a picture of little Snow from the episode after that so we haven’t seen Alice I don’t think.
Yes, we’ve only ever seen Jefferson in the book. Until OUATinWL we’ve never actually seen or heard any of Alice, she’s always existed in our heads but not in the Onceiverse.

KeymasterI keep watching that scene over and over trying to decide and I think Kat has it right: even if it is a lie, it’s a good one which means there has to be some element of truth to it. I think telling Bae his story served two purposes:
1) He was trying to get Bae to spill maybe something about Rumple. I don’t think he expected to hit the mother load of the dagger, but he was fishing for information
2) He really was telling Bae his story.
I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive and it works together knowing what we do about Hook’s general character: he’s a villain but he’s also a good man capable of deep love.
I think there are serious elements of truth to what Hook was saving: particularly about his father abandoning him. Remember what he said to Emma about the Lost Boys? The look they had in their eyes? That’s how he knew Emma was abandoned as well; well I think it works on him too.Hook: Ah, but you don’t want to abandon him the way you were abandoned.
Emma: Was I?
Hook: Like I said, an open book.
Emma: How would you know that?
Hook: I spent many years in Neverland – home of the Lost Boys. They all share the same look in their eyes… The look you get when you’ve been left alone.
Emma: Yeah, well, my world ain’t Neverland.
Hook: But an orphan’s an orphan
The devil is in the details, I believe. Naming him Jones is no coincidence in my opinion given that Davy Jones is a legendary (literally) sailor and with the PotC franchise he’s a very recognizable name now. The only thing I might take issue with is who his father really is. This is sort of hand canon, but I’ve always believed that Hook is going to turn out to be a lost Prince. I tend toward the notion that Davy Jones raised him, but only after he was spirited away by forces that sought to take his throne. So even Hook may not know his own backstory.
