I still think Jefferson wrote the book 🙂
If I had to make a list of “People Who Potentially Wrote The Book” Jefferson is definitely on there because I think you’re right Gypsy, he probably knew Bae and I think he told August. (I need an episode devoted to Bae, Jefferson and August. Just one full episode fully laying out how they all know each other).

Ok, here is a thought 6 months latter the Shadow appears then at that same time Hook just came back from FL so I wonder if it wasn’t something on Hook’s ship that maybe hitched a ride after all he had treasure on his boat ❓
H and K said that the Shadow followed Bae and we know that at the time Bae went through the bean hole, Hook and Milah were still in FTL because Hook did not return to NL until after Milah died, where he met Bae which may or may not have been about 150 years after Milah died if Bae was falling for a longer time in reality than what he perceived.
ugh. We really need to nail down how time is working.

I’m still wondering if Belle can/will ever learn magic. She does have a “superpower,” and the only other person described with a superpower so far is Emma, who is magical. (Of course, I also wonder how much magic ability Rumple will hang onto when/if he’s no longer the Dark One–he clearly added onto the Dark One’s knowledge/abilities over the years.)
Would Belle ever want to learn magic, though? She tells Dreamy in The Outsider
Grumpy: Wait! Belle, wait. It’s fairy dust. Might come in handy.
(He hands Belle a small satchel.)
Belle: Oh, no… Thank you, I… I’ve seen what magic does to people.
Grumpy: You’ve seen what dark magic does. Fairies use this for good. Now go be a hero.
And while yes later she uses the fairy dust for good, I don’t know if Belle will ever be open enough to magic to try and use it herself. I think she is going to be more willing for Rumple to use magic after her stint as Lacey, but it’s not for her.

The Dark One’s shadow? OH MY! 😮 😯 Gosh, but I am having so much fun with this shadow! 😆
I have to wonder, with all the theorizing and discussions we do, is this what’s it’s like to be in a OUAT ‘s writer’s brain storming room? I think I’d love that king of job! 😀 😆
I’d give my right hand to be a fly on the wall during conversations about S3!
Tamara knows about the Dark One, she names Rumple the Dark One to Hook in The Evil Queen. And if the got that information from the Home Office, maybe they have plans for the Dark One’s Shadow.

KeymasterI almost think Lacey was so open to magic being real because she wanted to, magic is just another expression of power. If Rumple says he can do magic, then that means he just became more powerful in her eyes and can do really impressive things for her.

I’ve mentioned this in another thread and I don’t recall this having been brought here yet, but can we be sure the Home Office exists only on the Land Without Magic?
Well, I think the Home Office is specific to our world, since the purpose is to irradiate magic from Earth, which is also why it’s called A Land Without Magic. All the other realms we’ve seen so far (EF, NL, and WL) all have magic, so no such organization existed there. But I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the people in the Home Office come from magical realms, which could be how they know so much about spells and curses.
The problem though is that our world isn’t really a land without magic. Obviously there is magic here because the Home Office set itself up long ago to eradicate magic, meaning it had to be here.

KeymasterI think that’s interesting TGK, but I have to wonder if we should pile on another character to Rumple. Just from a story telling standpoint, he’s already so many things: Rumple, Ella’s FGM, The Beast, the Crocodile.
But I do like this:
Or, what if a little bit of dark magic escaped through THE DAGGER when he used it to dig into the dirt and escape the vortex. Same end results only a darker shadow with more sinister type of disposition.
What if it’s not Rumple’s “self” but rather the Dark One’s “self.” Rumple was never as Dark as he could possibly be as the Dark One: always preferring to make deals instead of just outright killing. Maybe this could explain why he maintained a little bit of good in him, he wasn’t fully the Dark One.

KeymasterI’m hoping Rumbelle’s relationship will be less angst ridden in S3, but more open to discussing actually having a life together which means coming to terms with Lacey, Rumple’s magic, ect.

Interesting. But it brings me back to a question I asked a few pages ago: if this is true, if it just wants Bae to possess, then why is it keeping the other boys captive?
That I dunno. *ponders*…
How about…because if the kids went back home, they’d tell people what had happened, and the Shadow didn’t want rumour of his existence and doings to spread. If people started to believe what all those kids said, (like how little lost Owen eventually found someone who believed him), and started watching out for him and trying to keep him away from their kids, it’d make his job harder to search for the right one. So all the witnesses have to remain trapped in NL so they don’t blab.
This thread and this thread are starting to bleed together, lol. Over there I thought that maybe the Home Office knows of the Shadow and they instruct GOAT to kidnap Henry because the Shadow needs a body to inhabit but has to find the right fit. Bae was the best fit in a very long time but the Shadow lost him and Bae joined the pirate crew who fight the Shadow. Henry is a great fit because he is Bae’s son so the Home Office needs to give the Shadow Henry in order for the Shadow to have a body and then the H.O. can control the Shadow and use him to do their bidding.
