ParticipantIt’s a spell not to make others fall in love, but to break other spells. Remember true love can break any spell maybe even the one Regina cast on fairy tale world.
Brilliant! I think you’re right, that true love can break any spell. We’ve already learned that love is the most powerful magic of all. We’ve also learned that all curses can be broken, including the dark curse. It’ll probably be broken by true love in some form (though not necessarily romantic). Perhaps Regina will learn how to love Henry in an unselfish way, as he will learn to love her (although, that would be a stretch of the imagination).

Participant@ hjbau: We saw the same beer steins again in episode 17 when Snow White returned to the home of the 7 dwarves and gave a new stein to Happy.
It was clearly one of the same steins seen in Mr. Gold’s pawn shop.
Did anyone else notice the giant stuffed bear in the giant foyer of Rumplestiltskin’s estate?
I think that may be an allusion to the Story of the Three Bears and a hint of what is to come next season.

Just because we haven’t seen evidence of magic in SB yet, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. As August said, “Some people believe on faith, and some believe on proof” (or something like that). SB isn’t exactly the “real world” we live in, because it’s a cursed town. Hence, the possibility of magic still exists. Still, perhaps Regina removed Kathryn’s heart in FTL in an episode we haven’t seen yet. I’m really excited to see how the plot develops over the next several episodes.

You’re probably onto something. I think Mary Margaret used the key to escape the jail cell, but that she was then taken. The promo for ep. 17 reveals that not only is Emma kidnapped by the Mad Hatter, but we also see that Mary Margaret is all tied up. It appears as if Mary Margaret is also kidnapped, either by the Mad Hatter or Regina.

ParticipantI think you may be onto something. Perhaps August did add information about the skeleton keys, which is where Henry got the idea in the first place. Also, I'm wondering if he added something about Wonderland, since that is what's happening next week…

Participant@obisgirl: Based on the sneak-peek for ep. 16, the box is in fact Mary Margaret's jewlery box in SB.

ParticipantEarlier, I wrote, “Anastasia Griffith is listed in the credits of episode 18 as Kathryn/Abigail. Perhaps Kathryn's not dead after all. The heart must belong to someone else.” I'd like to amend that theory. Either it's not Kathryn's heart, or it is her magical heart that Regina removed in the same manner we saw Regina remove Graham's heart in episode 7. Kathryn could still be alive but in the hospital basement or some other holding cell, and Regina planted Kathryn's magical heart in a box with Mary Margaret's fingerprints.

ParticipantI’m glad we’ll finally get to see the Pinocchio/Geppetto back-story. I’m also hoping we can clear up whether August really is Pinocchio or not. It seems like we’ll be finding out answers to lots of the major questions that have been asked on the forum and elsewhere.

ParticipantI’m wondering if Rumple’s son, who was once lost, will return in this episode. Also, I’m wondering if we’ll find out who August is by then and if he’s Rumple’s son (which I have doubts over).

ParticipantDid anyone else notice the emblem on Henry’s school uniform? To me, it appears to be a book crossed out, which is in keeping with the shut-up library idea.
