I didn’t say it was a final theory. 😉 Just thinking out loud (or in type, as it were).
What if the Blue Fairy only made Pinocchio part wood again … and that part was wood from the tree? That could explain “shin splints” … August is part wood! 😀

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantEh, just watched the beginning again. The quote goes like this:
“Nepal. Best people. They have these prayer temples … carved into mountains that are overrun with lemurs.”
“They’re little animals and they have these eyes that reflect light, so at night it looks like they glow.”Hmm. I suppose it you broke it off so that “Nepal. Best people.” and “They have these …” are two different statements … but even I think that’s reaching. 😉

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantI need to go back and watch the episode where August is telling Ruby about Nepal. Does he say things that could be separate statements … but taken to be about the same thing by his listener?
You know, like “There are these prayer temples in Nepal.” and “There are places that are overrun by lemurs.”?
Because then, you know, he’s not lying. Just … misleading. 😉

What if … Gepetto asks the Blue Fairy to turn Pinocchio back into wood so that he could make him part of the wardrobe? Absolutely heartbreaking for Gepetto, but I could see him doing it if he thought it would help his son. Of course, I would think that would mean Pinocchio would be a puppet in SB … but it would fit the above spoiler and make it possible for Pinocchio to gone through without breaking the “one only” rule …

All this talk of sending kids away, reminds me of the Pied Piper. If I recall, one child from that Fairy Tale was lame and couldn’t follow the rest of the kids.
Ooooh, yes. If I remember right, three children escaped. One was lame, one was blind and one was deaf. Interesting …
Some people think that story might reflect the Children’s Crusades. Which kind of reminds me of the Ogre Wars …

Sometimes hair color changes from when kids are little to when they’re grown up. I was very, very blond. (I’m not now.) And there’s always dye. If August had hair that was such a striking red/chestnut, I could defnitely see him covering it up. People remember hair like that.
Also .. he could be Pinocchio without Gepetto purposefully sending him through the tree. What if he was carved from it and still had a sort of connection to it? Voila … dumped suddenly in the Real World just like Emma.
(To be honest, I’m starting to believe he’s neither Pinocchio nor Bae … nor Henry’s father. I’m not sure who he is, but I like all the ideas!)

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantHmm. I just read in another forum that August apparently showed pain in a foot/leg when crossing the bridge another time? I don’t recall that, but I have missed a few bits and pieces.
Also, read about this guy: August von Haxthausen. Interestingly, apparently he was a friend … and an editor … of the Brothers Grimm. 😉

I’d also like to see them tie Rose Red in somehow. Maybe The Six Swans … or the story from Swan Lake.

-- Dylan ThomastheoniongirlParticipantI think that’s a very astute post. During the wedding dress fitting, Regina just looked … stunned. And then you could see her almost … snap … into the EQ we know.
You could see glimpses of it earlier. She’s been taught for so long that you do not fight Cora. By the time of the fitting, she’s stunned and holding it tightly in check, because she absolutely cannot do anything about it. Nothing at all.
(Note: I’ve been in positions like this, mainly with work. “Yes, sir, I’ll take a pay cut despite the fact you just made my job a lot harder! Yes, sir, I should be grateful!” And then you have to sit there for the rest of the day and NOT let any of it show … 👿 )
And then Snow gives her an outlet for it.
I think we’ll see Regina plotting and planning and learning enough to kill/defeat her mother. I don’t believe for an instant that she’s abandoned that line of revenge. But at that moment … there’s nothing.
Except Snow. And think of how bitter, how very, very bitter, it must have been to see that little girl get her own happily ever after … after all.
