It hasn’t been a year since Anna and Elsa started building a snowman, but Walt Disney is already giving Frozen fans an early treat. Earlier this week, Walt Disney announced that Frozen is set to return to the big screen come Spring 2015 with the new animated short entitled, Frozen Fever.
Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, Frozen Fever comes with an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and is set to take place on Anna’s upcoming birthday. While Elsa and Kristoff are both determined to give her the best celebration ever, Elsa’s icy powers may get in the way of giving her sister a what would have been one of the happiest days of her life and may put more than just the party at risk.
The announcement was first made last September 2 during the airing of The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic on the television network ABC. Narrated by Josh Gad, who voiced Olaf in the classic animated feature by Walt Disney, The Story of Frozen features a behind-the-scenes look at the origins and evolution of the award-winning film, Frozen. The special also presented a world television debut of a scene from the new action adventure from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Big Hero 6, as well as a sneak peek at the upcoming season of the ABC series Once Upon a Time, which is set to go on a Frozen arc for the first half of the fourth season.
Frozen Fever marks the first project reuniting the Oscar®-winning original team from Disney’s Frozen.
