Can we have a Bison signal? Like Batman?

I thought Frozen was good, but I agree, it’s kind of funny how it became such a hit.  It’s like the hula-hoop, its a fun toy, but why it became a national obsession for a time and now is just one more toy in the aisle, who knows?  Some things are just fads, its not that they are any better or worse than other things but maybe its a matter of timing or hitting a nerve in the culture at the right time–not that the thing that starts the fad is always totally useless or horrible.  A hula hoop after all is still good exercise and fun!

In many ways, Frozen just did things other Disney/Pixar films did.  Spunky, active heroine? Yes, look at Tangled and Princess and the Frog, and the Pixar Brave.  Romance isn’t the love story?  Yes, I mentioned Brave already, all about the mother and daughter relationship.  What it did though was combine things so there was the music and beautiful 3D visuals, the romance and the strong family story about sisters.  Little girls didn’t want to dress up as Queen Elinor–but Queen Elsa? They like her much more, want to identify and be her more than Anna even.  I was at a little kids library program where they sung that “When I grow up to be…” song, and almost every little girl said she wanted to be Elsa. ( Go figure.  I was proud of mine (6) for saying she wanted to be an architect, but then for Halloween guess who even she wants to be?  Yes, Elsa.  ) She loves her for building the ice palace…but there’s something powerful about Elsa in a way that other Disney princess heroines I suppose have never been.  Of course, she’s not a Disney princess, she’s a Queen.   She doesn’t revel that she has these powers and can do whatever she want regardless of how it hurts others–it actually horrifies her.  She runs away to protect everyone from her, but also to give her a measure of freedom to be who she is, tired of repressing her power for the greater good.  So she is in many ways, not the villain from whom everyone needs to be saved, but the one who needs to be saved as well.

I can see why A&E loved Frozen.  The problem though is what they set out to write was much worse.  Regina, Jones, and Rumple all were actually selfish people who at times have reveled in that.   Regina laughing as Marian pleas for mercy?  That’s a horrible image, and Elsa never seemed amused by the pain she caused people, unlike I would say, Regina, Jones and Rumple at times.  They found it funny or amusing  when they hurt people sometimes.    I think the writers did intend to originally write them as sociopaths, but the problem is, they’re the more appealing and interesting characters to the writers and a lot of the audience, and whatever their original intentions (shown by hiring Sbarge and Ory, planning arcs for them, for Bailey and the last straw for me as an enchanted rather than disenchanted fan, for MRJ.. )–this is where we are.

What I think interesting is that there is something intertwined between heroes and villains.  This article is a very interesting read on it.    Thin Line .   So heroes and Villains are alike –its easy at times to confuse the two, or to imagine reasons they should get along, or that one could flip easily from one to the other.  Of course we root for  people to find the light rather than lose it.

I’m all for seeing that sort of story, if indeed it IS that.  This is where OUAT fails though, because the redemption is achieved by shortcuts aplenty.  Victims have zero voice in this story to talk about their pain.   Anything bad the villains do is, since Season 3, gets dismissed as “in the past”–yet the past is what happens to the present after  a commercial break.   It drives me nuts that there’s no real moral confrontation in this story about the attitude and choices the villains have.   So the villains can have evil ambitions that get thwarted or they change their mind last second, so no lasting harm done, and even if lasting harm is done (like with Graham or Johanna), no one talks about it to those responsible.   King George gets locked up in the mines for trying to frame Ruby and killing Gus–the last sort of attempt at justice on the show.  Apparently everyone’s been just content with Mirror sitting in jail for a crime that Regina orchestrated then framed him for all of it –and she’s never felt on her own hey, I should let that guy out because HE doesn’t deserve to be there for MY crime.  Or maybe I should try to return some of these hearts.

From what I hear, its all about  her quest for happiness.    Instead of Regina telling Robin she understands and wants him to be happy even if not with her (aww, heartbreak), we apparently will have him telling her he loves her still but he’s got the ball and chain, so what are you going to do? She’ll decide to be a hero and save Marian, showing growth–but meanwhile she’s also secretly plotting to break up Marian’s marriage to Robin essentially by finding the author of the books to rewrite her fate.   Spoiler Regina, they already rewrote it, stop worrying!  You’ll be fine.  Marian? Not so much–one way or another, whether she pulls a Katherine/Abigail “I want to find someone who loves me as much as you love her….” or gets hit by a truck, Marian’s not getting her happy ending with Robin.  Everyone else has to settle for a new definition of happiness (August? Reversion to child of course.  Neal? Heroic Death.  Marian? If she’s lucky, she can live to cheer her ex-husband marrying the woman who in a now alternate timeline killed her, and still in this timeline cursed everyone for decades and slaughtered hundreds of others and then redeemed in the sense, she’s found less selfish and damaging ways of seeking her happiness without needing to feel compassion and a desire to restore happiness to those she stole it from.  Yes, this show is ALL about hope).

Remember when Regina thought Henry would be enough?  Kind of what Cora told Regina as she died–but apparently that’s not enough for Regina anymore.  She still wants it all–and what’s changed is that the writers are determined (because fans are) to see she gets it.  Not right away, of course, but it is the clearly marked destination for this story now–Emma bringing back Happy Endings isn’t about restoring the wrongs Regina and Rumple created anymore–it is to make sure Regina, Rumple and Jones all get their happy endings and that everyone else redefines their happiness to fit within that, or dies or otherwise is put out of the way.

There’s a quote from Jane Austen that fits the writing and fan view of this story very well.  “With a perversity of judgement, which must be attributed to his not having by Nature a very strong head, the Graces, the Spirit, the Sagacity, and the Perseverance, of the Villain of the Story outweighed all his absurdities and all his Atrocities with Sir Edward. With him, such Conduct was Genius, Fire and Feeling. It interested and inflamed him; and he was always more anxious for its Success and mourned over its Discomfitures with more Tenderness than could ever have been contemplated by the Authors.”
    ― Jane Austen

Except these authors not only contemplated and endorsed such tenderness, they encourage it, and it has become the lynchpin of their story.  We shouldn’t for example cringe that Rumple covers up his lie to Belle and his murder of Zelena.  No we should root that no one catches him in that lie or discovers what he’s done, because it was just in the past, and he wouldn’t do that again!    Good thing all it takes is visiting Neal’s grave, for Bae to inspire him to be better, no need to waste screen time on or pay on an actor to say nothing in response to all that, right?   If he were alive, maybe he could call Rumple out but then Neal would  be raged at by the fanbase, so really, its best its just Rumple talking and chastising himself.  Its not ok for anyone else to say he’s done wrong and needs to do better, perhaps not even Belle, for we all think he’s perfect, unless he himself thinks otherwise, and even then, we must disagree with him.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Can I just ask a general question? Does everyone here actually think Frozen was that spectacular? I liked the music, and I thought the ending of the film was a nice one, but…..I didn’t think the character development was all that stellar, nor did I really like the plot. I think I just don’t really get what’s considered popular now.

I liked it well enough. I liked some of the subversions of the fairy tale trope, like making fun of true love and love at first sight. Mostly Olaf was the best thing about it though.

Just to clarify, I’ll be doing the “here’s what should have happened” here at in our haven. But I will be revewing the premiere for my job, and then my own personal TV blog will have a review each week.

Thanks for the update but I’m gonna read it no matter where it’s posted because I really enjoy reading your articles! 😀

BTW-Remember the days when a TV Line article previewing what’s coming up on OUAT would generate like 100+ comments (you know, like the one for S3 did last year)? Yeah, the one that was posted last night currently has 31 comments. My how the mighty have fallen. 😉

If you’re feeling disappointed in a show, the negative aspects seem to stick out more, whereas when you’re enjoying a show, you tend to overlook its flaws unless they’re really obvious. The body switching CGI was just horrible.

Sure, one can wear “black” glasses, but also one can wear pink glasses and see even things that are critical in softening light or not see them at all. It goes both ways. I am not sorry for being probably a pain in the behind by now, pointing out that the show as problems (and I am not even missing Neal neither mourning him).

And wish it were just some bad CGI as flaws. The CGI and special effects in most TV shows make me at best laugh, often enough cringe, but even big screen is not that much better at times. The question in matters of CGI and special effects is to me more, was it something necessary for the story or just show off, I don’t expect perfection, even less if is is done for the story. I do like a good visual but I don’t watch shows/film for CGI parade. See and notice plenty of bad CGI on small and big screen regardless if I liked or disliked the show or movie. That is not the point, and think I am not the only having bigger issues with the show than such flawed minor details.

Thanks for the link, @MatthewPaul, interesting view in that article. There is more I would comment on but will keep it to the relationship related stuff here:

    1. Don’t have affairs. We get that Captain Hook is a swaggering sex-bomb who could woo any woman, so it makes sense on a hormonal level for Milah to ditch Rumple for the pirate. But her decision not only got her killed but sent her beloved down the evil path and caused her hubby to become the Dark One. For the sake of mankind, keep it monogamous people.

Not the lesson I see in that, reading it this way misses the point even IMO. Monogamy is no guarantee that people are honest with each other – but if there is something in Milah’s and Rumple’s story I think it is: Be honest with yourself and with others and particular your partner(s), friends, family. And accept that not every relationship works out staying together, sometimes it might be better for all involved to part in time.

Aside that there is a very different message in it, Milah was not the least bit responsible for Rumpel turning Dark One, he likely would have done so even if she’d stayed with him, after all he did it to protect Bae from being made a soldier – and the Ogre war was sure raging regardless what Milah did. But interesting to see how Milah is in the eyes of some responsible for what her husband became, and seen as solely responsible for the failure of their marriage. Pin the scarlet letter on Milah and shame the witch, she got herself killed and might have even deserved it. That is victim blaming in the worst form. Not saying what Milah did was right, but neither was what Rumple did, and meaning not just what he did in the end to her. But while Milah left him alone with his son but giving him a chance to still find a happy life, Rumple murdered his wife. Thanks for repeating the centuries old view, that women are the ones messing things up, are the original sinners (maybe you remember that thing that allegedly happened in paradise). That is such an empowerment of women. Not.

    2. Family matters. In the pilot episode, Emma had the choice between staying in Storybrooke to be near Henry (and suss out the weird stuff happening in town) or leaving. She chose Henry, which set off a chain of events culminating in her reunion with her parents. You might think your job or independence is the most important thing but it’s not; your family is.

Just let forget that leaving Storybrooke was for Emma not a matter of job or independence but a matter of unresolved emotions. Why care. Let us reduce it to a formalistic view and tell women their family is the most important thing in their lives. Let’s stick with the message already told for long on screen and elsewhere: stay at home, with your family, women (and know where your place is), you can’t have it all. No, don’t think that is the message in the show, but a message one could read out of that interpretation. Family is important, no beef there, though would family not limit to traditional definitions ( as in parents, children, siblings, blood related or adopted, here are other possibilities), but as important is to be yourself and have your own worth in yourself. For some the tool for that is a job. And what independence means is a freedom to decide and it means to be respected, it means to be and to be seen as a person on your very own right and not be reduced and limited to be an appendix of your spouse, family, clan, nation, or whatever. That doesn’t mean you have to be alone and don’t care and feel no responsibilities for others. You are of less good use for your family if you stay with them out of some felt obligation. Your family is really important to you if you stay without feeling any obliged to, when you are an independent person with the freedom to decide and you decide to stay because you care – what Emma did for Henry.

    3. You don’t need a man to save you. Just in case Katniss and Hermione Granger haven’t already beat this into your skull, take a look at Mulan and Belle. They use their smarts and skills to take care of business, like rescuing princes and wizards. So pick up a bow or sword or book and be the heroine, not the damsel.

Right, no woman needs a man to save her. We can do everything on our own. Sometimes the sword is the tool and sometimes a book or a quill is the right thing. And different from what plenty of men hero movies have told for decades, it’s absolutely okay not to do it all alone but as a team, you don’t need to be a lonesome cowboy (cowgirl) to be cool. It’s good to have friends. To find the true love is not all that there is in life. And your true love is for sure not the only person able to help you with things.

    4. Wait for your true love. Thank you Cora for this important lesson. Just because he says he’s a prince and he looks good in the dim lighting of a bar, doesn’t mean you should hook up with him. You might miss out on a happy marriage to a real prince and instead end up giving birth to a future psycho witch. Or whatever.

No, don’t wait for your true love. He or she might pass you, because you’ve looked so hard around all time, that you missed seeing the right person walked just by. And even if you did see the right person, it still takes effort and work to build true love. True love is no apple falling into your lab to consume, it’s a never ending process. See Snow and David. But right, the charming guy courting you is not always the right guy, no matter if you’re looking for true love or just for a comfortable life with riches. Don’t wait for a white knight to fulfill your dreams, take care of them yourself before you turn you into a bitter and then evil doing person.

    5. No relationship is perfect. Even when you have found your True Love, being together still takes work. Even the practically perfect Charmings get into marital spats. You’re not going to agree or get along with your significant other all the time, and that’s good. If you are, you’re doing it wrong.

See, I agree. But you might never come into the dilemma to wonder, what’s going on after you find your true love (or think that is the one person), if you never in the first place believed, that true love is something you only have to find and all will be good, but knew it is something you have to build an can build with someone.

    6. Revenge isn’t worth it. We’ve all been there. Some snooty girl steals your man or your job. Maybe someone insults or hurts you. Naturally you want to even the score but according to Once, this never works out the way we want. Remember how Cora wanted vengeance so bad she ripped out her own heart, making her incapable of loving her daughter? Yeah, don’t do that.

If you really can’t help it and want to take revenge or look for some feeling of justice, then at least turn to the people, who actually messed up your life, and not bully some scapegoat. Taking it out on the scapegoat is a sure way to let yourself be turned into a tool, only ensuring that the wrong people get their will and keep their power.

    8. Your love can “fix” men. This would fall in the “less realistic” category but there’s no denying Once has this message at its core. As much as we love Rumple, Hook, Neal, and every other “redeemed” OUAT guy with a shady past, don’t go assuming you can change your man. Not everyone has a heart of gold buried beneath their darkness.

I don’t want to fix anyone nor do I even think we could. At best we can strive to support people to heal themselves, but we can’t do that for them. But do I get that right, that this lesson is seen in the show but judged as not so realistic? Would agree on that, but not just as truth for women about men, it’s a general truth. After all shouldn’t forget the other main regular villain (or greyish villhero) Regina in the picture. Love doesn’t conquer all.

    9. Life is not a fairytale. Considering Once is a run on Disney-owned ABC, you would think there would be a lot more happy endings. In reality, the show reminds us time again, whether you’re a princess, a witch, or an orphan, happiness isn’t guaranteed and sometimes life is rotten. Even so, in life, like on OUAT, everything really does happen for a reason, and you never know when things are going to take a turn for the better.

Kinda agree. But some things don’t happen for a reason, they just happen, though we can give what follows meaning. No, there is never any guarantee for anything, not for the evil to go to hell nor for the good to get a happy ending. Not even in fairy tales, they all have to do things and succeed on their quest to get their happy ending, which not always is reduced to being a romance (we sometimes skip to the happy ending and overlook the effort it takes). Fairy tales are not even just princess is saved by prince stories and they get happily married ever after, a lot of fairy tales are about other things, and getting the princess is often enough only the extra award in the end, not the story or the core of the story.

    That full synopsis JenniferMorrison.tumblr.com promised:

So, fair warning ahead, this is a very detailed description of the episode. Read at your risk. Also, I cannot remember exact dialogues so bare with me!

As you’ve seen first 7 minutes, show starts with Frozen. Elsa and Anna parents on a ship and the ship is in a middle of the storm, about to go down, mother has to write a last note before they go down.

Then cut into the scene with Anna and Elsa at the rocks and Elsa has a gift for her wedding. They show Elsa going out of the barn.

Regina comes out of diner, Emma running after her, saying she’s sorry she did not know who Marian was, she says she still doesn’t regret saving an innocent woman, and Regina says things shouldn’t have been altered, if it happened it should have happened, and that she worked hard, she changed from that person back there and still she doesn’t get her happy ending. Everyone else comes out of the diner and Robin concerned running towards Regina, he introduces Marian to Regina and Regina to Marian and Marian is all altered disbelieving how gentle he is with Regina and then she starts repeating Regina is a monster! And Robin I think says she’s not who you know? (I can’t remember now exactly this part is blurry) and then Regina just walks away from everyone and Emma tries to go after her, Hook stops her and tells Regina needs her space now. Henry is all like – I hope she doesn’t become evil again and Emma is all worried – me too kid me too kid.

They show Grumpy and Sleepy going in a car after the diner celebration and then road becomes bumpy eventually we see Elsa in front of their car scared, she shields herself and the car gets frozen.

They show next day…Emma, Henry, Snow and Charming with baby walking, Charming says some comment about maybe we should have named him Baelfire. We see Emma with her phone, Henry asks, if Regina is still not answering and Emma says nope, maybe you should try kiddo, Henry walks with the phone and then Snow gets closer to Emma and says well Henry should know about two men with his mothers and Emma is all…Hook? You mean Hook? I don’t know what to tell him because I don’t know what are we. And Snow says she keeps avoiding him and then Hook comes and Emma is like just about who we were talking. Can you give us a second? Snow nods and walks leaving the two talk around the corner. And Hook confronts Emma about avoiding him and she says there’s always something going on in this town, she can’t think about anything else and Hook says it will always be like that they might as well live their lives, with that we see the frozen sidewalk that Emma notices and they walk to check it out they walk where the frozen sidewalk leads and Elsa keeps running scared they can’t see her, then as she hides and they are about to find her, Elsa freaks out and makes a snow monster, (promo pic of Emma and Hook with a gun is from there) then they start running, that’s where Grumpy runs shouting A monster!! And then Hook and Emma running are like – Here we go… There are some dialogue that I forgot, but he doesn’t ask her out or anything.

At some point they show Anna and Elsa, the gift for Anna was a wedding dress from their mother and as Anna tries is on, Elsa finds a book that worries her and she leaves, Anna looks for her and finds her outside with a book and asks what upset her and Elsa tells her that parents were going away because of her, because of her powers. Anna offers to go to trolls to ask about it, they go there, troll says he doesn’t know why they went but he knows where they went and he says the name of the place I can’t recall and Anna offers to go and Elsa says no! Anna says I will take only few weeks and Elsa says, our parents said the same thing…

Robin comes to Regina’s. It’s a sweet scene between the two. Regina is surprised to see him, Robin talks about how much he loves her and nothings changed but he can’t be with her because he made a promise, and even he’s a thief he goes by a code, and he made a promise to be with Marian until death do them apart. Regina says – so you chose? And he apologizes, sadly he walks out, Regina sitting there sad, then she gets up all angry, her anger is so visible a mirror shatters. She takes a piece of mirror and you see reflection of her face with an evil smile. Next scene where she goes to Sydney, she frees him and they are talking about how Marian has changed everything, she’s looking at Henry’s book and telling Sydney it has happy ending of them now, it’s all overwritten. And she says they need to go back to the past to change it. And Sydney asks if she remembers killing Marian and Regina doesn’t…she says Marian was “too plain vanilla” (her words exactly) to be remembered lol. She puts Sydney in a mirror and asks him to show the one she wants dead most and they show the scene where Hook and Emma witnessed, when Regina as Evil Queen asks where is Snow White and Marian doesn’t say, she says she feels bad for Regina because she doesn’t have anyone who loves her and because of that she’s a monster. And they show Regina’s face pensive after that image.

Some Frozen scenes with Elsa looking for Anna, Kristoff covering for her, eventually giving it out Anna left where their parent’s left and Elsa runs to the docks.

Rumbelle: First scene they are in the car, starting their honeymoon, Belle says go do it, I’ll wait for you here, Rumple goes to Neal’s grave and talks to him, says that once Bae was small he was scared and came to him because of storm and he felt safe and he felt like he was doing something right, but the dagger changed him, he became consumed by the power, even now he lied to Belle, he says he wants to be a man Bae died for and do right by him and swears to do that until the end of his days. He goes back to Belle, they go to some house Belle saw when she was hiking, it’s beautiful abandoned house, they enter, Rumple freezes Belle, goes to her bag exchanges fake dagger with the real one saying we’re going to start this right, unfreezes, they walk to other room, before leaving the room there’s little box on the table with stars painted on it that Rumple notices, they walk into main hall, Rumple says they didn’t have their first dance. He clicks his fingers music starts playing and they are dressed in their Belle and the Beast costumes where you have seen them in the promo, they dance and then cuts to other scenes. Later on there’s a scene of Belle in bed, assuming after their wedding night and Rumple does magic with the dagger over box and a hat appears which looks like Mickey’s hat, which looks magical (Fantasia hat?)

Forest- Emma and Hook and Charming are running from the Snow Monster, Robin and Marian with merry men are there, Robin tries to shoot, makes SM more angry, he goes attacking them, they are standing there useless and someone says they need magic to fight this off. Hook looks at Emma says, you have magic, everyone looks at her, Emma is unsure, Hook is all encouraging as beautiful boyfriend he is and she does small fireballs attacking monster but it’s not enough, he blows them off eventually, only Marian concious. Monster is about to get Marian, Regina appears out of thin air. She looks between Monster and Marian and Marian begs her for help, Regina sees everyone down, smiles to herself and disappears, Marian thinks she’s about to die, but Snow Monster is crushed into pieces by Regina behind. She stares at Regina in awe saying you’re not a monster. Robin walks over too, everyone gaining back conciousness and realizing what Regina has done. Emma runs to Regina to talk to her but Regina ignores her completely and disappears.

Then there’s a scene between Hook and Emma alone, and he says I know you’ve been avoiding me, and she says I know I’m sorry but she’s smiley, flirty and she says wanna go watch Netflix? And he’s I have no idea what’s that, but sure! And then she admits she’s been avoiding him not because of him, but because she feels guilty. And he’s the only person she’s admitted to, you can tell from her eyes she trusts him, and he sees right through her because he says, there’s something else too, and she’s so touched he saw right through her she goes by her instincts and kinda grabs him to kiss him, Hook didn’t seem to expect that but they ease into a kiss and it’s a mid-long kiss with them completely giving into it. And then after the kiss she asks him to be patient with her, to wait for her, and he obliges, he agrees and as she walks he says to himself ‘i i don’t get killed by a monster in a mean time” but you can tell he’s so eager so please her and move with their relationship.

Next scene, one of the saddest ones – Regina is in her study, on the ground, Emma knocks at her door and Regina doesn’t open, her back is against the wall and Emma is on other side – think when young Anna was going to Elsa to ask to play – and Emma tells her she knows it’s really hard and she wishes she could do something, she says – I came to this town to bring everyone happy endings, and I swear I will not rest until I bring you happy ending too. And she leaves. Regina is crying.

Last scenes: Regina calls Sydney, she tells him, we need to find whoeever wrote Henry’s book, and make him to write the book so villains get happy endings too.

Elsa holding paper she found of Rumple and Belle, walks into Gold’s pawn shop.
Back in Arendelle, we see Anna leaving with the ship, Elsa is too late, Elsa swears she will find her – Kristoff tells her that the place she’s going also called Enchanted Forest.

And Rumple with the hat as mentioned previously.

YOU GUYS EMMA INVITING HOOK TO WATCH NETFLIX IM SO DONE IM JUST BYEEEEE

    BABIES

    CAPTAIN SWAN YOU GUYS

THERE’S SO MUCH CAPTAIN SWAN (well technically they run all the time)

    I CANT FUNCTION RIGHT NOW

HOOK SAYING YOU ARE AVOIDING ME

AND EMMA IS ALL FLIRTY I KNOWWW IM SORRY WANNA GO WATCH NETFLIX

AND HOOK IS ALL LIKE I DONT KNOW WHATS THAT BUT SURE

AND THEN SHE ADMITS SHE’S AVOIDING HIM NOT BECAUSE OF HIM BUT BC SHE FEELS GUILTY ABOUT REGINA

AND HOOK IS I KNOW AND THERE’S SOMETHING ELSE

AND EMMA IS SO TOUCHED HE CAN SEE THAT THERE’S SOMETHING ELSE SO LEANS IN AND…

    KISSES HIMMMMMM

    AUDIENCE WENT WOOOOOOH

WHAT IS THIS SHOW EVEN I CANT

YES THEY KISS EMMA KISSES HIM AND TELLS HIM BE PATIENT

AND HE’S ALL LIKE SURE IF MONSTER DOESN’T KILL ME IN PROCESS OF WAITING

WHERE DID THEY KISS?!!! AND OMG! INSIDE OUTSIDE?
outside! after regina kills off the snow monster

    ANY ELSA/EMMA SCENES?
Nope. No one discovers Elsa yet, but they showed sorta season promo, where we can see Emma fallen on the ground Elsa hovering over her and everything is freezing around them and they cut into scene where Snow I think with Charming and Hook saying about Emma being frozen or some sort of that

SO WHAT COUPLES DID THE AUDIENCE ROOT FOR IN THE PREMIERE? EVEN THOUGH MARIAN IS BACK IS THEIR HOPE FOR ROBIN/REGINA?
Actually most screams were for Regina and Robin, then for Emma and Hook and Rumple and Belle pretty much same.

WHICH SHIPS KISS IN THE PREMIERE I GOTTA KNOW
    Only Captain Swan!

    ANY SNOWING?
Only when they walk with baby Neal and then Snow sorta stays with Emma teasing about Hook. And when Regina leaves the diner they come out together but not more than that. There’s barely any Snow in the episode.

IS THEIR HOPE FOR REGINA/ROBIN EVEN IF MARIAN IS IN THE WAY?
    There IS! A lot!

First they start by Regina leaving diner, Emma running saying sorry, Regina having none of that. Robin, Marian and baby hobbit come out. Robin introduces Marian to Regina, Marian starts shouting MONSTER at Regina, but everyones sympathetic towards Regina and Marian doesn’t understand. Regina leaves.

Next scene is when Robin comes over to Reginas and tells her he loves her still, but he has a promise he made by marrying Marian and he has to be with her, it’s sorta sad but sweet scene because Regina gets all happy with Robin saying he loves her right now and then sad when he leaves telling her that. She plans on doing stuff for Marian cut long story short, when Marian, Robin, Charming, Emma and Hook are in woods with Snow Monster atacking, SM blows everyone off and Marian is still concious and she thinks he’s gonna kill her Regina appears and she asks Regina to help her, but Regina sees everyone down and only Marian concious smiles to herself and disappears, we see Snow Monster about to attack Marian and he is crushed into pieces and we see Regina did that. And Marian tells her you’re not a monster and then as Emma runs to talk to Regina, Regina disappears leaving everyone in awe.

HOW LONG INTO THE EPISODE DID THE KISS HAPPEN? I’M DYING RIGHT NOW SO MANY CS FEELS
Almost at the very end, like last 10 mins or less!

NEW HERE SO SORRY IF YOU ANSWERED, BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT RUMPELBELLE, AFTER HE BASICALLY STILL BETRAYS HER TRUST AS SHOWN IN THE FINALE?
Actually he exchanges the dagger into real one in her purse wanting to start honey moon right 🙂 and he swears on Neal’s grave to do right by him. But in the very end there’s some magic he does with it to discover whose house they are in. But technically he still gave it back to her! And they have really cute scenes for Rumbelle shippers!

WHATS THE OBJECT THAT RUMPLE FINDS THAT WAS MENTIONED IN THE PRESS RELEASE?
it’s like a little box with stars, which when he hovers his dagger over it converts into a hat

SO NORMALLY THE PREMIER SETS UP TONE FOR THE SEASON. ANY VIBE WHERE HOOK AND EMMA ARE HEADED FOR SEASON 4?
To work out where their relationship goes IMO. Both have issues to deal with. Emma is avoiding him at the beginning, and it’s because of her guilt she admits to him later on, but Hook says there’s something else too… And I think that’s where their issues will come in play which Adam and Eddy mentioned. Where they will show Emma in foster care, dealing with her magic, then having their moments and making this relationship work and be strong.

OMG WHAT DOES SNOW SAY TO EMMA AND DOES EMMA ADMIT SHE’S IN LURVVVVVV
hahaha nope nonnie, they don’t talk about love, Snow mentions to Emma about a man in her life and Emma says she doesn’t know where she and Hook are and what they are exactly, but in the end you see her flirty with him and wanting this to work out but she only asks him patience and Hook you know Hook, he’s all as you wish m’lady, just hope he doesn’t get killed in process of waiting.

You guys asking me about every ship Captain Swan, Outlaw Queen, Rumbelle, Swan Queen even, I’ll write everything up. As much as I can remember, be patient, it will be easier than answering all the asks separately, hang on! There are stuff for every ship and I’ll be neutral as much as I can haha 🙂

    giggleswan:

I’m still pretending the baby’s name isn’t Neal.

You know Charming says something like “we should have named him Baelfire” lol.

As she said, she’s planning to post an indepth summary of the episode later.

TVLine’s tease after screening the premiere: http://tvline.com/2014/09/21/once-upon-a-time-season-4-spoilers/

One week before it airs, ABC this Sunday night held a star-studded screening of Once Upon a Time‘s Season 4 premiere, which is titled “A Tale of Two Sisters” and introduces the much-ballyhooed crossover of Frozen characters.
To tide you over until we start doling out the heaps of scoop we got on the red carpet from many of the series stars (present and past), here’s a list of teasers from the new season’s opening hour.

    * The premiere’s opening scene takes place in Arendelle, the setting for Frozen, though Elsa and Anna are not seen.
    * Marian simply cannot understand why everyone in Storybrooke is being so dang nice to the Evil Queen!
    * Do you still have to honor your wedding vows if your wife comes back from the dead…?
    * Regina and Emma have a great heart-to-heart… where they’ve never face-to-face.
    * Queen Elsa (played by Fringe‘s Georgina Haig) and vehicles do not mix.
    * Someone says, “He won’t smell like that forever.”
    * Judging by the audience reaction at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, Belle and Rumple’s Beauty and the Beast dance was the episode’s most swoon-worthy moment.
    * Hook provides Emma with some much-needed encouragement.
    * The reindeer playing Sven deserves a special Emmy.
    * Neal/Baelfire makes an appearance… sort of. (Regardless, it’s quite touching.)
    * The episode ends with a journey.

Ranchettes, let us Ranch tonight. Let us Ranch like some of us need to Ranch. See you soon, lovely Ranchettes.

Oh no… I’m afraid to know what happened that would constitute an intentional call to the Ranch (not like we’re not there every night anyway). Should I prepare for the worst?

Can we have a Bison signal? Like Batman?

Will I be sitting in my room and then all of a sudden Puck is launched at my head, and that will be my signal that I’m required at the Ranch? Also, someone needs to draw a Bison Signal.
