Ohh I love coming home to pretties :D Thank you!

    I’ll just add this one:

I feel like Hook has raised the bar in the Pirate Vocabulary department.

    http://hooked-on-hiddles.tumblr.com/post/97894257990/hooked-on-hiddles-i-feel-like-hook-has-raised

Oooo, I like that one! He sure has increased pirate vocab 😉

I can’t handle all the pretties!!! (Yes, I totally can, keep ‘em coming!)

My son and husband are visiting the inlaws for the next 5 days, so our pirate and I have quite the marathon date planned. I don’t have a lot of the early S3 episodes on DVR still so I haven’t seen them in a while…8 more days, so I have to prepare!!

I’m hoping that what I’m inferring from these spoilers is right…I don’t want to see another half season of Emma treating Hook like her own lil punching bag, but it would be completely OOC for her to suddenly be totally comfortable with and capable of handling a ‘normal’ relationship. Hook, too. So those bumps and challenges are fine…there’s a lot of material there that I really hope they focus on them moving forward and learning how to navigate, as opposed to the so-completely-overdone keep ‘em together, break ‘em up story.

Your wish- my command (while later today, after I’ve moved horses & driven to the airport to see the lil sis off on her OE) 😉

& I’m with on your hopes for CS as well & agree with it’d be OOC for either of them to be all roses & sunshine what with their backgrounds 😉

The indications are that they will progress even if that progression will be like walking uphill on a pile of rocks!

Haha- best way to describe CS ever LOL! I love your posts Bo- so entertaining & descriptive 😀

There is certainly a ton of story to be told about everyone, and we will have to deal with the same annoying commercial broadcast format of network TV

It’s always a shock for me to see adds, as I watch all my TV on line with no advertising during the shows lol

A&E will be bringing us more conflict between Hook and Rumple which is always a “gold”mine of acting chops, and will, aside from the budding romance with Emma, solidify his importance to the bigger story. We Dashing Rapscallion followers will have even more to appreciate and wrap our hearts around when his backstory is fleshed out even more. Emma’s too! Her brief encounter with Neal was only the topper to her wall of mistrust and abandonment pain. I hope we see the same young actress who played her before. Their casting sense is amazing, with just a few exceptions.

Totally agree …… *bounces up & down in seat* Bring on Season 4!!!! 😀

I have a very small, very tiny, very miniscule, glimmer of hope that A&E will grow a pair and bring back Neal. Not even for Emma, but for Henry and Rumps sake. Where’s the young lads happy ending complete with the parents he has been wanting his whole life? Where’s Rumpel finally making up for all the crap he has created for his son?. Neal should have broken that cycle that Pan and Rump started of leaving a child to grow up with his papa. Gosh, I hope Henry doesn’t go down that road.

Oooh Jenna! Private downtime with the Captain and his Lady! Nirvana on a small scale, and with the constant pretties from our resident “Pretties Maker” Queen, surayya…we are ramping up to a fun season!

I am right there with you on the angst machine of CS. With the two of them being so intensely inner-emotion driven, regular is impossible. The indications are that they will progress even if that progression will be like walking uphill on a pile of rocks! Even with the struggles, they have a deep connection. The rewards of such struggles are always somewhat smoldering. Not a bad thing for our luscious love duo.

There is certainly a ton of story to be told about everyone, and we will have to deal with the same annoying commercial broadcast format of network TV but…

So to spite Eddy, I added a column to calculate the day of the week on my spreadsheet. Obviously, with all the fudging they do and the rough estimates that are necessary to construct the thing, there are only a few dates that I trust to be 100% accurate despite the care I’ve taken.

However, they did commit to several very particular dates.

Emma’s birth & the curse: October 22nd, 1983: Saturday. (Makes sense that Owen & his dad were camping then; score one for A&E.)

Day 1 of the curse: October 23rd, 1983: Sunday.

Emma’s return to Storybrooke: October 22nd, 2011: Also, interestingly, a Saturday. Given the mayor’s usual Saturday routine (at that time, hanging with Graham), we can see how Henry got away so easily. …though it does seem odd that Henry then is supposed to go to school on a Sunday, but hey, time’s been frozen? Cuz the 23rd is Sunday. Time doesn’t start moving again until Emma takes a hotel room that night.

Hm, the “Saturday” when she meets with Graham I currently have as a Friday by the date. Might need to adjust some things if it’s possible to do so…unless (and this is remotely possible) Emma’s birthday should really be the 23rd and people are reading yesterday’s paper in the Welcome to Storybrooke flashback.

ANYWAY: Our next and only real concrete date:

Valentine’s day 2012: Tuesday. Obviously the dates immediately surrounding it are clear in relation.

Then the timeline gets pretty tight–almost day by day from then to where we are now, save for the missing year (which might be only 9 months long)–but again, since they play fast and loose, no guarantees.

Anyway, yes, Eddy, some of us ARE wondering whether it’s Thursday.

ET exclusive CS spoilers First Date Jitters: Calling all Captain Swan fans, this one’s for you! Now that the obstacles between Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) have finally vanished, it’s time to watch the chemistry-charged couple experience some adorable firsts. “Captain Swan fans can look forward to seeing their first date,” Kitsis triumphantly revealed to ETonline.
However Horowitz warns that you shouldn’t freak out just yet! “Like most first dates, things don’t go as smoothly as you’d hope,” he said. Yikes! Kitsis added, “It is still a drama and as much as we’d like to just have the two of them order pizza and watch Netflix, I think our fans – even though some of them would like to see that scene – would be bored.” Ummm…. No we wouldn’t. Give us pizza and Captain Swan cuddles!
Adding to the awkwardness of a new relationship, Emma is going to have a tough time getting her charming father to approve of her new bad boy beau. “What I’d like to see is Captain Hook get the father speech from Charming (Josh Dallas),” Kitsis teased. “I wouldn’t let my daughter date a pirate!” Hmm… but would you let her live with one? Since the Jolly Roger is still M.I.A., will we get to see any Captain Swan sleepovers? “I would say [moving in together] is a bit fast,” Horowitz said. “But I think Emma is going to realize this year that she needs her own place.”

True Love can be anybody….Soul Mate means there’s only one for you

I think the whole True Love vs Soul Mate thing is unnecessary and confusing. Or at least it is for me.  I know a lot of people have really dug deep into what A&E said when they drew that line, but to me it seemed like they conjured up the answer with no thoughts about it beforehand. Like ever.

I, even before watching this show, never saw True Love as being only romantic or being only exclusive to only ONE person in your life, romantic or otherwise. To me, it’s a feeling…it’s an emotion beyond all emotion. True Love is like what Belle said, layered and a mystery.  It’s the love we have for our family, the love that makes a mother jump in front of train for her kids, or the love to face a dragon to bring back your son from a sleeping curse. The love where u can fart around someone and totally not have to say excuse me because they know what the deal is v_v  True Love just doesn’t need to be defined. It isn’t just romantic, its between family and friends as well.  So Regina can Henry the kiss of TL and Emma can give it to him and if he is still getting into danger when he is a grown man (which we all know he will be :P) his future love interest can give it to him too and none of that contradicts anything.

I mean seriously, imagine sitting down with your significant other and hearing them say “Oh you are my soul mate…but *insert ex’s name here* was my true love and there is nothing you can do about that” -_____-

The simplest answer is that you can love someone and if, for whatever reasons, something were to happen, you CAN love again. And despite what others have said I do believe that if Snow White died right now, if Charming ever felt the need to move on, he could. Same with Regina and Robin. If Robin died right now, and Tink gave Regina more dust (Pixie dust :P) it would probably lead her to the next best candidate for her heart. So idk. Maybe I am just being a bitter old bat again today.

    Phee that’s a fantastic signature.

Ranisha, I’m caught up on Grimm and looking forward to it.  I did make the mistake of peeking at online fandoms about it–woah nelly!  Is it just an internet thing that mean, flirtatious characters need to be coddled and hugged and good, compassionate but willing to stand up for themselves type characters are “boring” and need to be killed?   Because I’m sensing a pattern, that’s all I’m saying, and if I want to keep enjoying Grimm–I think I better stay away from reading what people think should happen or what they think happened.  Maybe I just stumbled on the wrong forum but after what happened with OUAT, I kind of don’t think so.

As I see interviews straggling out from Adam and Eddy, I have to admire their ability to talk out of both sides of their mouth.  It’s really an art.    Like this gem, we don’t write ships, but then in an interview when asked if the core characters would be pushed to the side, they answer (and its in quotes) that Rumple and Belle, Hook and Emma, Robin and Regina and Snow and Charming will (I’m paraphrasing now) get development. They didn’t say all our core characters, or just list the names in general, or talk in general we have a larger story that of course will impact the lives of our (then list them all, including Henry).  Nope.  They listed couples.  Later in another interview, they talk about how Rumple and Hook ‘s “detente” will come to an end–interesting choice of words, to suggest they have not actually stopped hostility towards each other, they just backed off for a temporary time.  Another interview talked about Henry and Regina having a big upcoming plot.   Then they’ve teased some things for Elsa and Emma–in short, there was absolutely ZERO need to push the whole “its a show about couples” but they knew the audience of that particular interviewer, so that’s what the pushed there.  Then when people complain about shipping and the focus on romance and all–oh no, there’s plenty more.  Tah dah, both sides of their mouth work to say what they think we want to hear.  ALl I know is, their track record tells me what they care about writing, where they devote the most scenes and what ends up being the ploys of their villains.

I was musing today that the writers could have brought Lancelot back as the pixie dust soulmate–a guy who has a sense of honor, a backstory with Snow, and instead of having a loving wife and kid–he would have had a paramour married to another man–a situation that didnt’ end happily. Now there’s a second chance at love I could honestly have rooted to see.  Instead, we get to root for Regina to break up a marriage and/or for a kid to lose his mother somehow, someway.  We’re supposed to comfort ourselves that “it was always supposed to happen that way”–but who made that choice? The writers.  Who killed off Neal (see I’m trying to talk about Neal, I’m sorry I know this veered way off course for the thread)?  The writers have a slant to what they write, and whatever they tell us their intentions are, and whatever they may have initially been when they signed up various actors for arcs that went nowhere–where they end is always in the pile of cheap melodrama.

Speaking of cheap melodrama–I applaud RG for that Love and Romance, what’s the message thread–you did a beautiful job of setting up a discussion that almost could manage to avoid the shipper bias that usually infests any attempt to talk about these things.  That thread basically covers why I said I feel about the current relationships in the show more or less the same–there’s really something off and unsettling in all of them if you poke hard enough.  The question is, can you enjoy the dynamic and ignore the previous history and context?  Can you watch OUAT like it is a Twinkie–tasty little confection if you ignore its lack of nutritional value?  I don’t think there IS a message–at least, there’s an outward candy shell of a message but the actual way they write these relationships falls off the rails sometimes because they also just can’t help themselves from going for the big twists and shocking moments.

I came across this review, and I find it interesting.  OUAT is the Best Worst Show You’re Watching   I agree with a lot said there–particularly about how the show does better when it DOES NOT take itself seriously.  In the comments, someone mentioned that review special with Adam and Eddy, and how seriously they talk about everything–that’s the problem.  It’s their tone.  One second they’re laughing hah hah about something they wrote on twitter, then the next they’re putting the serious face on to deal with fans who take offense.  If they think they’re writing something one click above the little shorts they do for Comic Con–one step before broad farce, then fine.  We aren’t supposed to take it seriously, and we’re SUPPOSED to laugh at how outrageous some things are.  Emma’s hand waiving in the air, saying she will avenge August–then promptly more or less forgetting all about him.

So I suppose if they’re aware of how they contradict themselves, does it make it better? I don’t know.
