I don’t expect for anything romantic to happen between Emma and Hook in the finale. It would be awesome if it did, but that would be stretching. Maybe something “significant” is Emma realizing that she can trust Hook and she begins to open to him.
Agreed. Hook is big on the trust thing when it comes to Emma. He knows that everybody is and should be out for themselves but he was really hurt when she didn’t trust him even though she kinda tried to tell him it was only because of her past. I think we’ll get some of that in this ep, especially since we somehow go from Charming punching Hook – in Emma's apartment! – to Hook fighting side-by-side with Charming against GOAT. Emma's definitely in the room when the punch happens and I think she'll have to be the one to convince Charming that it's safe to trust Hook – otherwise why wouldn't Charming just think it was a trap set up by GOAT to get him for whatever reason? Bring on the Emma / Hook trust / bonding moment!

At one point the interviewer asks about Neal.
THR: It seemed like Neal (Michael Raymond-James) in present day was killed at the end of last week’s episode. Can you shed some light on that?
O’Donoghue: Well, he was shot and fell through the portal so … you can definitely assume he was dead because he was shot..Just a moment , NEAL'S DEAD?! 😆 😆 That would end SwanFire before it even has a chance to start. And with him possibly ending up in the Netherworld with Aurora and Mulan, yeah, he could be dead. And dead is dead.

BREATHE.
As I’ve said in other threads we have to take anything the actors say with a grain of salt. After all, they typically don’t know much further in advance than we do (especially at finale time – they don’t have S3 stuff) and their views tend to tip in favor of their characters point of view.
I’ve noticed things (like the spoiler you just mentioned) in Colin vs MRJ interviews which lead two different ways but neither is lying at all (it’s all in the wording).
As per that specific one…MRJ has pretty much said he still thinks it's possible for SwanFire – thankfully his most recent interview was more down the center, saying he doesn't want to paint the writers into a corner but he thinks it's still a possibility and that NealFire's biggest thing is being part of family, not necessarily getting Emma back. He's in his character's head in a lot of interviews which do tend to go more pro-SwanFire saying that it was heartbreaking last week because he had to let go of the love of his life's hand which gave SwanFire people a lot of hope etc.
Colin's interview is clearly more in the Hook-filter and more in line with the way the audience (the casual audience at least) is looking at things, as well as Hook and most of the SB characters. All he did was point out what we actually SAW – which is what we usually trust in these situations, if we didn't see it we can't always trust it – and all that we SAW was he was shot, and then went through a portal. Colin never said he was dead, he said “you can definitely assume” based on these facts, not that we'd be right in that assumption. Dead would certainly be dead but until we see a body…heck I'm still not even convinced Lancelot is dead because of all the threads they left dangling with him, much less Neal.
Honestly I think if Neal were dead it would not bode well for CaptainSwan because there wasn’t a whole heck of a lot of closure. I think if they wanted us to believe it was complete closure, she would have sat there with him dying in her arms like they did with Graham. Having NealFire out at this stage of the game with so much unfinished business with Rumple, Henry only just getting to know him, and just the faintest scratch on the surface of closure with Emma doesn’t work. I need them to actually talk and realize that while they do love each other very much, they have changed over time and are no longer IN love with each other. Otherwise CaptainSwan will come across as a rebound or 2nd choice and I was already upset with Emma essentially being Neal’s 2nd choice with the Tamara situation. I certainly don’t want anybody to say that Hook is Emma’s 2nd choice. It’s why I’m hoping that they build a strong friendship first, starting with this ep, so that they can get to a point where, when Neal does show back up, she can legitimately be torn (and by legit I mean it’s obvious to everyone on both sides of the ship, or at least as obvious as possible. I get the SF side of things but most just see CS and shout “delusional,” roll their eyes and run away – not all, but some definitely.)

Guys, guys, if you scroll through the comments to Colin’s recent TVLine interview to Comment by Matt Webb Mitovich – May 10, 2013 06:59 AM PDT, he has an interesting CS teaser.
Colin and I discussed Hook’s assorted romantic options, but since that’s not relevant to the finale, I’ll pass along his thoughts sometime during the summer hiatus.
Comment by Matt Webb Mitovich – May 10, 2013 06:59 AM PDT REPLY TO THIS POST😮 😀 I Bow before your talent 🙂 Thankyou (it’s like you made a Rd map for Emma 😉 😆 )
Yeah, I think that is pretty much how I expected things to go- no romance in last ep 🙁 – but at this stage CS (for me), is all their interaction- good, bad & the sparky- not just the romance (those 2 just jump off of the screen when they are acting together) 😉

And, that tvline interview is giving me all sorts of hope!!!!! Gah!!!!! *runs around room in excitement*

May 10, 2013 at 11:52 pm #192971kfchimeraParticipantI agree with what you said Kat. I mean it is possible for just about anything to happen, but Neal is more than just a character connected to Emma, and I was also looking forward to seeing adult Neal and Hook interact (whatever happens in NL in the past in the finale).
But if he is gone, well that’s just par for the course of this bumpy coaster ride I mentioned earlier!“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. 😯 No Hook, step away from the darkside 😉 I'd bet all the cookies in the forum, this is before he figures out Bae is… well, Bae. I cant wait to see his conflict over giving Bae up, using Bae as revenge on Rumple & keeping Bae safe because of his love for Milah (although if he's smart he'd combine his love & revenge, by stepping in as a father figure for Bae, Bae has someone who cares & looks out for him + Hook get's Rumple's son- win, win 😉 )

Well even if he doesn't step away in the past–maybe that parallels him doing the opposite in the future?Because he has to turn the tide against Goat!

After I picked my jaw up off the floor…I decided that this sneak came BEFORE the one where he actually talks to Bae and realizes that he is Milah's son. The promo pics for the episode point to Hook hiding Bae, not handing him over. I think there were other pics where Bae does end up with the lost boys in a boat but a) I am unclear on that part and b) I think Hook will at least try, and possibly fail, to protect him and eventually manage to do so. Whatever it is will parallel with Henry I'm sure, and we know Bae has to get back to Hook sometime right? To learn how to drive the ship, and swordfight etc etc…I hope!
And I agree, he has to and it looks like he will, go against GOAT. Bring on the Charming Hook bromance as they fight side-by-side!

May 11, 2013 at 12:18 am #192985surayyaParticipantI don’t actually want Neal dead yet, because he still has a juicy story line with Rumple to get through- but if he was killed off I guess it would be the 1st time Rumple may actually learn something for a change- or he’d just go all out evil, either way that could be interesting. I am surprised he just took their word for it though- it’s like he kind of wanted/expected it to happen- so much for seeing the future 😕 😉 😉
Yes his death would mean certain CS- but that’s not how I want it to go down & I hope they don’t go there- although Neal & MAP in the netherworld could be interesting- I just assumed they where in FTL, but Netherworld would be way more awesome 😉 I wonder if that is where the shadow originally came form….So many things they could do with that. -
