Bae is not dead. The writers wouldn’t devote so much time to his backstory to make him dead. He needs to be alive to be confronted with his father at least, possibly to be reconciled with him at the end of the series.
What makes their future confrontation interesting is that we don’t know what kind of man Bae has become and what his take on all that happened to him is. I doubt that he had a good life, though, considering the fact that he was dropped alone in a world totally strange to him. He was probably pretty messed up.
The issue of time is not that important, I think. Wasn’t it said that through the portal you could travel through time and space. But it is not clear whether he actually landed in our world or maybe somewhere else.I agree. I seriously doubt that Bae is dead. For one, I don’t think the Blue Fairy would ask Baelfire to jump into a vortex that would kill him. And two, there’s still too much story to tell about him. The writers sort of left an unspoken “to be continued” on Baelfire’s story. We still don’t know where he landed. Did he land in our world? Neverland? Oz? Candyland? WHERE?!?!?!? π

I am aware that there are many great theories going around with solid evidence, however, I can’t help but to think it could make an interesting plot line. The writes did mention Henryβs father wouldn’t be just some random guy. Plus, Bae would be about Emma’s age. I’m not saying this idea is any where close to being right, but I would enjoy the twist! Do you think I’m crazy?
Um, no offence, but if Bae didn’t travel in time, he’d be dead.
But he did travel in time. The Blue Fairy said that the green vortex was a “time hole.” π

So Bae is Henry’s father based on age and his possibility of being in our world. The age is obvious. we do not know where he is. evryone wants this to happen why??? and based on what??? matching timelines and no confirmation where he is??? Did he shoot JFK too??? There is nothing to support that theory yet.
It’s all just fun speculation. It would be nice if it were to happen though. I’d like for Baelfire to be brought back into the story in a significant way.
My main reasoning for believing it may be true:
-Baelfire landed in our world before the curse took effect. This means that he was outside of the curse, like Emma.
-The Blue Fairy called the green vortex a “time hole.” This might place the age and timeline discrepency back on track.
-Emma said that Henry’s father was older than her. If Baelfire landed in our world right before the curse took effect, then he would definitely be older than her.
-Emma also said that Henry’s father was a fireman. Maybe this a play on Baelfire’s name. The names in Storybrooke always play on the identities of their fairytale counterparts.
-Mr. Gold: Because he spun gold back in fairytale land,
-Regina Mills: Because she is the daughter of the original millers daughter,
-Mary Margaret: This is the alias she gave Red in “Red Handed.”
So, names and certain personal attributes play a big role in this show.-It would also explain why Emma has platinum blonde hair while Henry’s hair is almost black. π
beauty the beastParticipantLast night’s episode was BRILLIANT. Easily one of my favorites of the season. Right behind Skin Deep, Hat Trick and Desperate Souls. I’m glad we finaly learned why Rumpel created the curse. I was glad to hear that he made it so that he could find his son. I hope his efforts weren’t all in vain. I want Mr. Gold to be reunited with his son.

I really liked Baelfire. I loved how he tried so hard to save his father from evil. Very moral and sacrificial person. I hope we get to see more of him.
I really like him too. I also really like the actor. So far, next to Snow Flake, he’s been the best child actor on the show. No offense to our little Henry. π
I agree. Dylan Schmid (I think that’s his name) was amazing in this episode. Hopefully, the writers will put his talents to good use in future episodes.
Baelfire as Henry’s father? Hmm…That might actually make sense. Baelfire was sent to our world before the curse. So, that means that he’s outside of the curse. When Emma was sent to our world, she was originally outside of the curse too. So, may they met up somehow.

Favorite Moments:
-The big confrontation between Mr. Gold and August. I loved how Mr. Gold poored his heart to August only to find out that August was fooling him. So sad. π₯ I also loved that Mr. Gold gave August his dagger. He wanted to let him know that he was done with magic and power and wanted to return to the loving father that he once was. So sweet.-Robert Carlyle’s acting. PERIOD.
Least Favorite:
-David. End of story πLOL! π Yeah, I didn’t enjoy David very much this episode either. π He’s been bugging me the past few episodes.
Favorite Moments:
-Mr. Gold’s big showdown with August in the woods. It was like watching two titans face off. I also loved how open and honest Mr. Gold was being with August (even though he wasn’t his real son). It was like he was trying to atone for his past sins and start fresh with his son. I also loved what the Blue Fairy said about Baelfire being Rumpel’s only glimmer of hope. Rumpel has actually had a few glimmers of hope, but he’s rejected them all thus far. Hopefully, he’ll learn to accept them into his life and move on to his happy ending.-Call me weird, but I really like sneaky, manipulative August. It’s sexy on him. π
Least Favorite Moments:
-As The Looking Glass has already pointed out, David and MM’s scenes were…meh. They weren’t bad, they just pailed in comparison to the story at hand.-Sydney. *Sigh* Sydney, Sydnye, Sydney…GET A GRIP MAN!!!!!!! SHE DOESN’T LOVE YOU!!!!!!
beauty the beastParticipantI actually like the theory about Rumpel wanting to destroy all magic. Magic has been the downfall of his entire existance. His first introduction to magic ended in disaster and tragedy. So, I could easily see him wanting to do away with all magic. He probably thinks it’s the source of all evil.

If Rumpel wanted the curse on him broken he should have just let Belle kiss him and be done with it. He should have been happy when he saw the curse breaking and not angry.
Things aren’t that simple. Rumpel is the most enigmatic and mysterious character on the show. No one has a clue of want he really wants. I could easily see Rumpel coming to the realization that he wants to break his curse after Belle “died.” After two of his most beloved close ones, Baelfire and Belle, tried and failed at getting Rumpel to let go of his powers, he probably realized how his powers effected everyone around him. Tragedy tends to spring new inspiration in people. It’s called redemption and character development.
Another simple answer to your question is that the writers needed to create a show that lasts past a few episodes. π If Rumpel allowed Belle to break his curse, then the show wouldn’t have even existed. π
