ParticipantThinking some more about the point in my previous post about the potential for Hook character development, and ya know, it’d be the perfect setup to show a really big contrast in his behaviour. We’ve seen him tell Charming that he saved him to get in Emma’s good graces. He helped save Henry to try and get into Emma’s good graces. He regularly comments about being worried about his own arse being saved. He’s always looking out for #1. So if he knows he’s not gonna get the girl if he does the right thing and helps her remember, if he knows he won’t get any “special payment” for helping to save her family members this time, but he does it anyway…I will rejoice. Because not only would it be some character growth for Hook, but it would mean that much of the stuff they’ve written for him this season which has been degrading his character, would have actually been done for a reason, so they could show the contrast in behaviour, so it won’t bug me nearly as much.

Participantbut perhaps he is an old boyfriend ahe calls to varify that she did not have a kid five years ago when she knew him to back up what Hook says when she goes to question him or he stalks her. He meets her and confirms that, and she is now starting to lose it.
Oh I like that idea a lot!

ParticipantI just need to leave this here:
And now I need to go and sob. I’ve seen MRJ cop some crap for not having emoted, but honestly, his restrained reactions are SCREAMING emotion to me. ALL THE EMOTIONS, ALL AT ONCE.
This is part of why I hate the triangle so much. Neal is a character who HAS a storyline–his father just died, he recently became a father and is losing his son just weeks after finding him. He isn’t given enough screentime, nor is Belle, and a large part of why (I think) is the time devoted to building up Hook for the obvious fan-girl contingent /eye-candy factor.
I really hope we get some close Belle and Bae interaction while they’re in FTL. It’s the perfect opportunity to give both characters some much needed screen time and development.
Hook does have more depth than that, absolutely, but a lot has been stripped away and it makes the character less interesting than as a complicated villain who longs to be a hero but doesn’t quite know how to get there because he just can’t help himself.
Agreed. They need to shut this triangle business down ASAP if only because it will mean they can move Hook on to doing other things that are more interesting for his character.
Something I do like the potential for, and I hope this is what they’re heading for with him being the one in NYC, is that in helping her remember, he’ll be helping her to remember Neal. Remember why he really left her, remember that she still loves him, remember that even though they’re not a couple (right now), they’re working together to look after their son. So Hook helping her remember will actually count as a legit, selfless, noble act, where he’s aware (since his kiss didn’t work) that he’s (more than likely) gonna lose out if Emma remembers, but he’s still gonna help her to do it anyway. If they play it that way, it could end up being some actual character growth for him, if he realises what’s going on, accepts it, and then does the respectful thing and actually does back off.

ParticipantI’m still confused how they sent stuff to and from Neverland… I can believe they sent it to John and Michael but they still needed to send it to Pan. Is there some kind of Interrealm Postal System?
Shadow Express, the fastest postage system in all the realms.

ParticipantHmmmm *goes back to re-watch previous cuff stuff*
I don’t think Cora got it from Pan. I think Hook gave it to GOAT, who sent it to Pan, who sent it back with a new enchantment to block magic and prevent it being taken off, and he told them it had been adapted with sciencey stuff.
Hook: Right, so… I failed to mention that the giant enchanted the beanstalk to repel intruders.
Emma: Alright, so how do we get up there?
Hook: I’ve got a counter spell from Cora. If you’d be so kind.
Regina: You knew I’d want it.
Hook: True. They rigged it with something that blocks your magic. It’s impressive.
Regina: So itty bitty Owen does grown up magic of his own now.
Greg: It’s not magic, actually this is something better. Science.
Regina: *tries to take it off*
Greg: You can stop doing that, it’s not gonna work. You might be able to get rid of the leather, but inside are the toughest metals and machinery known to man, and right now they’re counteracting every magic bone in your body.

ParticipantThat’s from Terriers, which I’d love to track down and watch some time, (was canceled after just one season). I also need to watch the first season of True Blood, (which I gave up on after just a couple of eps when it first came out). Here’s a montage of clips of him in that, (again: profanity warning)…

ParticipantMaleficent is definitely a candidate, and I’d actually love it to be her because I really wanna see her again.
The issue I see with that is that apparently Blue exiled the Black Fairy, but Maleficent didn’t seem very exiled-by-the-oldest-magical-being-ever-who-wanted-to-get-rid-of-her. If Blue exiled a super powerful fairy, would she allow said fairy to stay in FTL and re-gain enough power to mess stuff up there? Exiling the Black Fairy by sending her away to another world sounds more likely to me, especially considering we’ve seen Blue give the, “their dark magic doesn’t belong in this world, so here’s a bean to take them far away,” speech before.
So even though we have that vague “sources say no” spoiler about Black Fairy not being WWW, I still think it could fit quite nicely. Exiled fairy wants to regain powers and ends up as WWW could make sense.

Participant“Lawrence” has gotta be Lumiere. How will he fit into this story though? Did he perhaps work for Rumple before Belle? And then Rumple turned him into a candlestick, but not before he’d told Rumple about Belle, who Lumiere knew of because he’s from her town/kingdom?
“Sources say it’s unlikely,” doesn’t necessarily completely rule out the possibility of the Black Fairy being WWW, but it certainly calls the theory into question. Hmmmmm.

ParticipantI dunno what to think about this guy any more. All I know is my crack theory of him being an older Henry is a bust.
But he was allegedly being called Henry by the crew. If so, and if Henry has his same name, then there would have to be a connection there. It’s very curious that we didn’t see Emma actually call him by his name at breakfast. Part of me thinks it’s gotta be because he has a different name now, but part of me thinks that if Regina had any control over their new memories, she’d make sure he kept the name Henry.
Emma still had the same, crappy foster care upbringing, but that doesn’t necessarily rule out her having had a nice foster brother at some point, or maybe he was even just another kid in the system who she got to know, but they were never actually part of the same family. That could actually be the basis for them having a romantic relationship in present day.
If they are a couple, I’d guess that the scene we’ve seen pics of is after she’s broken up with him, and the forehead kiss is a goodbye, no hard feelings, sorry it didn’t work out but I hope we can always be friends kinda kiss.
Not sure how I feel about the idea of him being a product of the Curse, because creating a fake paper trail is one thing, but creating a whole other person…I dunno.

ParticipantMRJ even has “Ohana” tattoo apparently.
Yep. It’s on his chest, right over his heart. <3
