I guess Australia can air it this early, and perhaps they will air episodes 310 and 311 a few days before us too.

Dunno about that. During Think Lovely Thoughts, there was a message on screen that said it was gonna be back in Feb. I’d only been half watching, because I’d already seen the ep a few times, so I googled to see if I’d imagined the message on screen and found this on a FB page for Aussie fans…

Just to remind everyone– it’s NOT ON NEXT WEEK. Please disregard the guide saying it is (or more likely it’ll be a Repeat if they do have it on). 2×09 ‘Save Henry’ won’t be on in the US till December 1 — meaning they have a week’s break. But 7Two were airing messages during last night’s episodes saying it’ll return in FEBRUARY — meaning they have no plans to show any more this year.

Like I said before, Save Henry is only listed for 1 timezone, (which is the first timezone in the country, and the major market). The rest of us have a Cirque Du Soleil special listed in the 7:30 timeslot instead. So who knows what’s going on.

It’s odd because it’s only listed for Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmania. Rest of the country, which is in different timezones, doesn’t have it listed in the local guides. Only thing I can think of is maybe they only have the rights to air it one time because they’re airing it before ABC does in America, so maybe it’s a one shot deal? Usually I don’t really care that we don’t have daylight savings here in Queensland, but right now I’m cursing that fact because otherwise I’d still be in the timezone that has it listed! *POUT*

All 3 of those eps have significant Cora appearances. Curious.

Bailee’s at that age right now where she could be passed off for someone a year or so younger than she actually is, or she could be made up to look a few years older than she actually is. She’s 14, but if you see pics of her at official events where she’s dressed up, she looks late teens.

    That Granny cosplay is fabulous!

Hope some details about the Q&As come out. Would love to hear what Gil talked about in particular, considering we’ve seen him geek out over the show on Twitter, so I reckon his Q&A was probably pretty fun.

ETA that I just did a Twitter search on him and saw a photo that has a camera set up on a tripod during his Q&A, so maybe there’s video of it that’ll end up on youtube. *fingers crossed*

If Hook and Regina can be declared totally redeemed now, is the show over? Where’s the dramatic tension in that? While I understand fans of Hook and Regina wanting the characters to be totally redeemed and good, right now, that doesn’t leave much more story to tell for either character and leaves the show without some darker catalysts for events.

I doubt that either will ever be 100% redeemed sweeties, because their darker sides are an integral part of who they’ve been for so long. Like any kind of addict giving up their vice, the experience of it and threat of them falling down again will always be lurking. I guess what we’re seeing with Hook right now is similar to what they did with Regina last season. Both of them started to show signs of improvement, but then something triggered them to regress. It’s believable, but frustrating.

Part of what had appealed to me about the potential of Hookriel was that that relationship could have helped him change. Falling for a mermaid, when he’s conditioned to hate and distrust them would have allowed some internal struggle, instead of being so black and white. And given that Ariel is more naive than any other woman he’s dealt with before, if he genuinely cared for her, he’d have been forced to look at how he treats people and dial back the secrets and lies and dishonourable intentions.

As things stand right now, he’s still stuck in the mindset of, “I want that woman and I’m gonna get that woman. (Even if her other potential suitor is a guy I once wanted to be my step-son, but nevermind if my actions end up hurting him again.)” I’m holding out hope that this is just one step in the process, and at some point he’s get a clue about what “good form” actually entails, and start striving for it.

We’ve been told, by Emma, that her life experiences included many people using her for their own reasons. She is in a vulnerable place right now, but it would be totally out of character for her to not ever see the superficial nature of Hook’s attention toward her. That’s one of the reasons that I don’t think there’s enough between them upon which to build an actual romantic relationship right now. Hook has to learn how to be a fully funtional adult who is capable of truly caring for others before he can be any kind of man for Emma, and by then both will have moved on. I can’t see Emma being satisfied with a superficial romance, not while juggling maternal responsibilities and learning how to be a cherished daughter.

    Agreed with all of that!

Right now all Hook has with Emma is the sense of relating to her and she found him attractive enough to kiss the way they did.

Don’t remember if it was in here or on tumblr, but somewhere recently I saw a comment that Emma and Hook come from very different times. If you’re living with a 300 years in the past mentality, then a kiss probably has different expectations and significance put on it, as opposed to the significance that a modern day woman would put on it. Both of them are one night stand types though, so I dunno how drastically different their views on kissing would necessarily be, but I do still think it’s a valid point to consider, that back in ye olde times, people in general thought differently about relationships, which may be a contributing factor to Hook and Emma’s current situation where he’s reading more into things than she is.

I wonder if the writers might explore whether Emma really thinks the real world was nothing but cruel or is that as false as Neal thinking EF was nothing but bad. Another parallel for both I think is to evaluate the truth of their assessments of the worlds they are from.

What I’m enjoying is that in re-learning her own past, Emma’s also discovering Neal’s past too. When it’s revealed to them all that Pan, who held Neal captive in NL for centuries, is actually secretly his grandfather, who let him leave NL at a specific time (if that does prove true)…that’s a manipulation of Neal’s life that’s on par with how her own life has been manipulated…both of them being kids and not knowing the truth of their circumstances. He’s no longer, “The guy who helped wreck my life when (I thought) he callously screwed me over,” he’s now someone who was also a victim of having his life screwed over.

Between their experiences in our world, and their experiences in/connected to magical worlds, these two just have so much common ground to bond over. And outside of the two of them, we don’t know of any other characters who have that same experience. I know the term “soulmates” gets overused sometimes, but I’m just sayin’!!!

Lancelot was such a minor character, that I doubt they would suddenly introduce a relative when there has been no lead up to it whatsoever.

Yeah, I tend to agree that a child of Lancelot’s would be a bit random. Much as I’d like to see him again, suddenly bringing his daughter into it would seem a bit weird. Had to look up how old Sinqua Walls is, and he’s 28, so if Lancelot’s meant to be 30-ish, that’s barely old enough to have a teenage daughter.

I wonder if Emma was viewed a bit as a scary child, like in a Stephen King novel? Did her magic freak out potential parents?

Saw a comment somewhere recently where someone wondered if the lights would flicker every time LittleEmma got overly emotional, and if so, how it must have freaked people out.

Did she run at some point thinking a family would not want her but they did?

    That would be interesting!

There was somethin in the newspaper about her criminal past but we could not quite see it, just tragic set of events if anyone remembers.

Think it was an incident in MA? *googling*

Records show that when she was merely a girl of seventeen, Emma Swan found herself, ironically, on the wrong side of the law. She was visiting friends of her foster parents in the town of Worcester, Massachusetts, it would prove to be a trip that would earn her a juvenile criminal record.

On the evening of June 16th, 1996, Swan—

Emma Swan Committed a Juvenile Crime on June 16, 1996

If that newspaper article is an actual storyline they’re gonna stick with, it has to have happened right before she fled clear across the country and met Neal.

Endless possibilities and months to speculate.

Here’s hoping our sanity hangs in there that long.

I think the random guy could be a former one night stand that has connexions that Emma wishes to use. She dresses up nice to meet him, they exchange “great to see you” Emma tries to be perhaps a little flirty and exploit their history together and the guy turns around and says he can’t help Emma and that he’s moved on with his life, and that it was great to see Emma again. He kisses her then leaves.

I could see that working for 312, but not sure it could turn into a recurring role, which this guy apparently has the potential to be?

Regina would have had to be talking about addresses Emma had since she was 18.

Yep, she says, “It’s the number of addresses you’ve had in the last decade.” So she’s lived in 7 places since getting out of jail.

From everything I’ve read (an interview saying Emma chose her own last name- don’t remember how old it is, but if anyone remembers the reference in the article and I’ve got it wrong, please let me know…) and JMo’s tweet about Swan being her first foster family’s last name, I’ve arrived at the conclusion that Emma chose to use the last name of her first foster family. Looking for the article so I can link it here….

Thought I remembered comments like that as well, but buggered if I remember exactly where/when it was said. At least I know I’m not delusional though, if someone else remembers them as well.

It’s 4am and I’ve got a couple glass of wine in me, so am about to fall asleep where I sit, but just wanted to commend KFC on another brilliant post, and respond to one thing really quick…

So he has had growth, but how far along this path is he?

When I said that Hook hasn’t shown any real growth, I guess I mean more that he’s currently showing a regression. He did start down that path towards doing better at the end of S2, and the start of S3. I just had high hopes that him interacting with an adult Bae would make him stop, think, and continue to prove himself in a positive way. Instead we’ve had the opposite since Neal showed up, and it bums me out a bit, because Hook obviously does have the capacity to be a better man, and he’s currently not putting in the effort and being a bit of a jerk instead.
