KeymasterWOW
Okay then!

KeymasterThe question is, does it mean unhappy endings for the heroes? Or just a reversal of positions for everyone on the playing field?
I think it means both. Heroes become the villains and get unhappy endings.

KeymasterAnd that moment where she sees Henry Sr. again, and just dismissed him completely was hilarious
Yes that was hilarious.
I find Regina’s solution to be very in character. She reacts before she thinks.
However, I am VERY bothered that Cora was able to speak such emotional truths when she doesn’t have her heart.

KeymasterThere’s a lot of “okay, sure” going on in my head right now. On the one hand, I thought parts of this episode were well done and compelling. But there were still moments where I kept asking, “what is the point of this??”
ETA: giving it a 7.5/10
LIKE
–“He was a lot of things to me.” I hurt. All over. It still hurts. I’m glad Emma openly acknowledged Neal while standing in his apartment. But something tells me that’s it; there will be no more Neal mentions ever again.
–The Mal/Lily reunion at the end was very nicely done and acted by both KvbS and Agnes.
–Good CGI on the dragon this time around. At least better than the last few.
–A new black book! Fascinating.
–Regina rising above and NOT wiping a baby out of existence. I may believe in a woman’s right to chose but Zelena did not consent to that and it would have left a very bad taste in my mouth.
–“She looks like me!” LOL
–“Oh look. Another woman redeemed through the love of a man.” <–which I actually forget how much I loathe Zelena for a hot second.
–I called that Lily’s blood would be needed for the ink!! (go me!)
–Loved Regina’s evil queen get up in the flashbacks
MIXED
–Emma forgiving her parents. It was nice but I would have preferred if she came to it on her own and not after Hook told her what she should have realized on her own.
–Rumple. Bobby is still a fantastic actor but it’s getting harder to watch him because he’s just so Not! Rumple. However, this new DO twist is rather interesting.
–The flashbacks. I love Barbara Hershey but these flashbacks felt unnecessary. Like Cora was inserted for no reason. They could have easily had Regina come to the conclusion about being barren without the Cora stuff, even though I enjoy her.
DISLIKED
–No Belle
–The Sheriff hitting on Cora.
–No let’s NOT give Roland a memory potion. Let’s TALK TO HIM.
–Did not need the Sheriff of Nottingham and ESPECIALLY did not need his groping of Regina. EW
–That poofy ball gown was hideous
–Barely any Henry
–I feel very underwhelmed by the entire QoD plot line. The real story has been the Author and the book. Not the Qod.

Keymaster“He was a lot of things to me…”
I can’t. I flailed and then I cried.

Keymasterunless it’s going to turn out that Will had some sort of memory wipe happen to him hence why he doesn’t seem to remember Ana.
I think it’s clear that Will still does remember Anastasia, given how he ripped out a page with her on from the “Through the Looking Glass” book. Plus, Robin asks him where Anastasia is now, and he replies “Sometimes when you win, you lose.”
*sigh* She’s dead isn’t she? 🙁

KeymasterHm. I’m not so bothered by the concept of Christianity in FTL, because most of the stories that are involved were, in RL, written/orally composed (at least in the forms we’ve received) in a Christian context with pagan influences. You go through the source tales as they were written, and you find average women with magical knowledge casting little spells on the way to a church…it’s disconcerting in a way to us, because modern American (to some extent, all of western) culture has been inundated with this concept that magic, religion, and science are all in different corners and burn each other when they meet. But historically, and in other cultures, they blended a lot more–alchemy and chemistry were once one and the same (as with astrology and astronomy), supported by church and government alike. Wise women practiced magical medicine all week and attended church on Sunday.
Yes of course, that’s all true and I know all that. BUT that’s still our world–not two separate worlds. In order for FTL to have Christianity–actual Christianity, not just an organized religion that draws from the religion because that’s the context A and E live in–THAT is problematic because the EF is a totally separate world from ours and in order for Christianity to exist there the same situation that existed in our world for the rise of Christianity had to happen in the EF.

KeymasterGiven that some of us think that Jafar is the Sorcerer why not Jafar himself? For…reasons.

Keymaster[mod] Any and all topics about an episode that have not aired need to be in spoiler section OR have tags. [/mod]
This is in the section labeled 4×20 “Mother” spoilers. What is the problem?
It wasn’t originally. It was in 4×20 “Mother” episode, not spoilers. I have obviously moved it before placing the mod note.

KeymasterShouldn’t he and Anastastia actually be married? How long after the events of WP did Cyrus and Alice tie the knot? And were Ana and Will married by that point? I know by the time Alice had her cub they were but hmmm….
It seems as though Alice and Cyrus got hitched almost as soon as WL was put back in order. The epilogue of WL (with Alice and her child) happened a minimum of 5 years later if Alice got pregnant almost immeditely following her wedding. WL took place during S2 of OUAT (even though it aired during S3). So basically there is still time to fix this without it retconning the ending of WL they just need to get moving.
S2 OUAT = WL
S3 OUAT = WL+1 (meaning one year after the events of WL ended…and taking into account the missing year when everyone went back to the EF)
S4 OUAT = WL+1-2 (one to two years after the events of WL ended…probably closer to late 1 year later)
Basically they need to get Will back to WL to marry Ana and become the White King and Queen soonish, but there some leeway timeline wise. Where there is less leeway is in the narrative. It makes no flippin’ sense that Will would up and leave WL nor does it make sense that Ana would fall back into her evil ways after achieving her HEA with Will.
