ParticipantMagic is coming.
Sounds like Mr. Gold/Rumpel is saying those words. Perhaps Mr. Gold always intended to come to this world, a land without magic, to find his son Baelfire, as indicated in episode 19. I’m thinking that he also wants the curse to be broken so that magic will come to SB and he’ll get his powers back. Perhaps he needs them to search for Balefire. Also, I don’t think he really wants Emma dead. I think he was lying to Regina in order to keep Emma alive. I believe that Emma has to live and actively break the curse by believing and helping everyone else to remember.

ParticipantWow, there are so many amazing scenes in this promo! I’m so excited for the finale! I also love everyone’s insights and theories.
I think the scene when Emma holds Henry’s book and it starts glowing is the exact moment she believe in fairy-tales which then unleashes magic in SB. We hear a voice-over of Mr. Gold/Rumpel saying, “Magic is coming.”
Also, I love the cat-fight between Emma and Regina in which we hear Emma threaten her, “If he dies, you die.” We hear Henry’s heart monitor flat line, which makes me think he appears to be clinically dead, even though we know he is just in a sleep resembling death. Then we see Emma fling Regina across in the hospital medicine room. Awesomeness! It’s like episode 7 all over again.
Also, nice catch about Emma holding a sword in the elevator shaft! The sword is probably Charming’s, which Mr. Gold probably had in his pawn shop. As a side note, we see Rumpel and Prince Charming fighting in FTL. Perhaps Prince Charming makes another deal with Mr. Gold that he’ll trade his sword for knowledge about where SW is being kept. Or perhaps Rumpel takes it from PC by winning the duel. Perhaps the sword has some magic properties that Emma needs to break the curse in FTL. Perhaps Rumpel enchanted the sword with magic while still in FTL anticipating that Emma would need it for some special purpose in SB.
I’m thinking that the scene of Emma in the elevator must be after Emma believes! I think the elevator is going down beneath the streets of SB. The walls appear to be concrete, like you would expect to exist under a town in the sewers. It doesn’t look like the mines, because if you recall episode 5, that elevator broke and plummeted down that sink-hole. Also, the mine shaft walls were much narrower. Although, it could also be an industrial size basement like that of the hospital, the court house, the heart vault, or even a library.

ParticipantWe now know that FTL still exists in some form, since Regina spoke to Jefferson about the possibility of returning to it in episode 21. Before Jefferson even reached through the hat to a time and place in the past in FTL that was, Regina spoke as if FTL is a place that exists in the present. She mocked that Jefferson would have to return to his little hovel and sell mushrooms at market to support himself, or he could simply remain in SB in the mansion she gave him.

ParticipantI think that Jefferson, a man of magic, could potentially act as a guide for Emma. It would be a great way to make him a regular part of the show next season. Once he has his daughter back, perhaps his sanity will be restored, especially if Emma helps him. IMO, Jefferson would be a much more palatable guide for Emma than Rumpel, who isn’t exactly trustworthy and may have an ulterior motive that isn’t in Emma best interests (e.g. her death).
On another note, I think it’s possible that Maleficent’s SB counterpart, who may remember FTL, may have a role in helping Emma break the sleeping curse. She did make it in the first place. She may tell Emma to wake Henry with a mother’s true love kiss.
Finally, I definitely called that Henry would eat the poisoned apple meant for Emma and that her kiss would most likely revive him, thus causing her to believe. Added to that are August’s words that only Henry could make Emma believe. The promo stills of the finale add weight to that in that we see Emma leaning over Henry's hospital bed to kiss her son on the forehead, followed by another still of Regina's hair being blown back by a force of wind, as if the kiss breaks the sleeping curse. In the promo, we also hear Emma say the magic words, “I love you, Henry.” Her true love will save her son. Also, the episode promo reveals that Henry's book is glowing as Emma touches it. I think that is the moment she actually believes and magic comes to SB.

ParticipantI think it likely that Maleficent, who is also a powerful sorceress, could have preserved her own memories from the dark curse. Since she was never in favor or Regina enacting it in the first place, I would love to see Malefient’s SB counterpart take on Regina and help Emma in some way. It would be very interesting for Maleficent’s SB self to tip off Emma about how to break the sleeping curse, since Maleficent is the one who created it in the first place to use against Sleeping Beauty. She’d certainly know how to break her own curse.

ParticipantIn the promo for the finale, we hear Emma say, “I love you, Henry.” I think she says that as she leans over Henry’s hospital bed and kisses her son on the forehead, and woosh, a mighty force blows Regina and Dr. Whale’s hair, releasing Henry from the sleeping curse like Prince Charming did for SW. Also, I think that immediately after Emma releases Henry from the curse, she’ll believe, and the camera will pan to David and MM remembering who they are.
Since we see Mother Superior/Blue Fairy in the background of the hospital with a peaceful look on her face, that pretty much indicates in my mind that she remembers her life in FTL. While we’d expect her as a nun to be on pastoral care at the hospital, I think she may also be there to see the sleeping curse break. I think she’s always known how Emma would believe. After all, she is the original power and would know how to ward off the effects of the dark curse on herself.
Also, I think that Emma may have a look of horror on her face as she realize August is turning into wood as she believes in magic. I think he will plead with her one last time to believe on his death bed. August may even put the seed of belief into her mind and convince her that only she can save Henry. I think that August will be around next season though, since Eion Bailey said in a recent interview that the writers were coming up with ways to incorporate his character into season 2 plot line. That gives me hope that Emma will believe in the curse in the nick of time to save August’s life. Even if August does turn into a puppet, it’s possible that after Emma believes, magic will fully come to SB and that the Blue Fairy will get her power back and be able to turn August back into a real man like she did for Pinocchio in FTL.
Another theory I have is based on a spoiler that we’re going to see a character in SB whom we’ve only met in FTL before. I think that it’s going to be Maleficent, who wasn’t exactly in favor of Regina enacting the curse in the first place. Perhaps Maleficent, who is also a powerful sorceress and could have preserved her memories, will tip off Emma how to break the sleeping curse and save Henry. She is the original author of the sleeping curse after all. True love’s kiss.
Finally, in the promo, there is a scene of Emma holding Henry’s storybook and it starts glowing. I think that will be the moment she actually believes in fairy-tales and that the book is true.

ParticipantSo, wouldn’t it make sense that if Emma does have a “seed” of FTL magic in her that is awakened by her belief, that if they could make the hat work they could go back before the curse was enacted and stop the Queen? That’s what I’m thinking makes the most sense.
This is a very interesting theory. The only issues in my mind are how reversing time would change everything as we know it for the central characters. Would Emma go back to FTL and start life all over again as a baby? That would make the actress who plays adult Emma, Jennifer Morrison, obsolete in the series, and it would mean that Henry never existed. I just don’t think that the creators of OUAT would get rid of two of the show’s most central characters like that.

ParticipantThere are a lot of scenes that get cut from the series for the sake of budgeting time and fitting each episode into about 40 minutes. It’s possible that there was a scene from this episode or an earlier one in which Regina connects the dots of exactly who Emma really is. Nevertheless, I actually liked how the writers decided to portray Regina speaking as if she’s known for a long time exactly who Emma is. It makes it much more suspenceful for the viewers to be left questioning how much she’s known and for how long. I think this may have actually been deliberate on the part of the writers. I think it makes it more interesting to show that hey, Regina’s a lot smarter than we’ve perhaps thought all along. It’ll make it very interesting to re-watch the episodes knowing that Regina’s knows. There are probably hints all over the place that show she is putting together the pieces of the puzzle.

ParticipantFavorite line was from Henry: “Emma, your family needs you.”
Least favorite moment: Regina being tied to a tree was just a nightmare.
