ParticipantI really don’t want it to be Rumpel behind everything. I hope they spread out the manipulation a bit. And the queen is very manipulative almost more so then Rumpel, in my opinion, so i think that they many people are controlling things in their own way. This is probably the biggest reason i dislike the idea that Rumpel just has all of his memories because i don’t think this show is Rumpel verses the Queen. I think it is Emma on one side and whoever is against her on the other, and i am not convinced that Rumpel is on Emma’s side even if he is trying to be right now. I think that they need to have Emma believe by the end of the season so that she can actively start manipulating the situation just like Rumpel and the Queen are.
Because right now Emma is manipulating the situation. She is helping people do the right thing and become themselves, but she is not doing it actively with knowledge that it will help them become themselves and i would like to at least get there by the end of the season.

ParticipantHm. Do we know how much time has passed between Snow running away from the castle, after the EQ sent the Huntsman after her, and the wedding? (Sry for the long convoluted sentence.

ParticipantI don’t think Snow has aged at all since the curse happened.

ParticipantI’m thinking more and more that Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin wrote the book and “placed” it for MM to give to Henry.
Now that we have confirmation that Mr. Gold knows who he is, it may really be that HE has given all the Storeybrooke residents their memories. Possibly even Regina’s, Regina just thinks she’s in control, but it’s really Mr. Gold guiding how everything works out to ultimately break the Queen’s curse.February 19, 2012 at 6:14 pm #137387In reply to: Emma Freeway / Henry’s Book

Participant😕
Back to the question where MM got the fairy tale book. I’ve been asking myself the same question. Where did she get it?
At first I thought the Stranger may have written it. He’s so interested in it and the book is now in his posession. Could he have written it down? Maybe we’ll get some answers tonight …Another thing that I find strange is the age of the different characters.
Cinderella/Ashley still is 19 (she says so herself in the 4th episode), but I always thought Snow White was about 20 when she and James got married and now in the “real world” she is about the same age as Emma. She aged, but Ella/Ashley didn’t?? Or was she in her late 20 when she got married? And then there’s the whole Henry part. He came to Storybrooke as a baby, so 10 years must have passed, and yet no one has aged(ok, the time stood still, but they should have at least celebrated the birthdays, in which case Ashley/Ella couldn’t be 19 now …)?
Is it really this confusing or am I just missing something obvious?
Help please! 😀February 19, 2012 at 2:07 am #137377In reply to: Favorite Lines from the Show

ParticipantWas rewatching Desperate Souls tonight and picked up on a line from Mr. Gold.
After realizing Mr. Gold set the fire at the Mayor’s office, Emma goes to find Gold at his shop. As she enters she swings the shop door open a little hard, jingling the bell attached to the door.
Gold makes a comment “Hope you don’t break my little ‘Belle’ “.
OK maybe I’m jumping to conclusions but thought it was at least a cute coincidence.February 18, 2012 at 9:09 pm #137373In reply to: Dr. Whale is big bad wolf

ParticipantI don’t think Dr. Whale is the big bad wolf. I don’t have a name, nor do I have screenshots. But in Episode 4 (the one about Cinderella) there is a scene where Emma is questioning Ruby about the whereabouts of Ashley. There was a tow truck operator outside the dinner who dropped Ruby’s car hard on the street. THAT GUY is the wolf; they showed him only briefly.
HOWEVER, that guy has never had a speaking part in the show. So it’s might very well end up Dr. Whale. He and the tow truck guy are the two most likely.

ParticipantYeah there are a lot of Biblical references. The entire episode the Shepherd was a Biblical reference. You have a shepherd boy who is brought to kill a dragon instead of a giant, but still. They think that he has no chance against the dragon but he is then able to beat the dragon using his brain just like David in the Bible by a stone to the head of the giant and without brute strength, Charming is able to kill the dragon by getting him to follow him and get the upper hand and behead him.
And, of course, the names. Charming is called David in the real world and Abigail was the name of the Biblical David’s wife. I think the wife that was the daughter of Saul who was the previous king. And Ruth is the name of Charming’s mother in the fairytale world and Ruth is the Biblical David’s great grandmother.
And the name of the fifth epsiode was The Still Small Voice which is a name given to god in the Bible. There is a story about a man who looks for God in a fire and he is not there and he looks for him in an earthquake and he is not there and he looks for him in a mountain and he is not there and then he listens and hears God in a still small voice.
And then the very premise of the show. A child of prophecy, Emma, must run away as a child so that she will not be killed, which Jesus does as a baby running to Egypt. And then Emma is supposed to come back to save the world from the curse. That seems like a very Biblical connection to me.
