I wonder if Zelena will give birth in this episode…? How long has she had that bun in the oven? She’s at least six weeks, of course but how long how has been since the little greenbean was conceived?
She is going to have a miscarriage in the upcoming episode and that will lead her to help Emma tether Excalibur to Hook.

So, either Hook kills Merlin with the sword (the name on the sword transfers to Hook) OR someone untethers it from Merlin and tethers it to Hook
Merlin’s name has been suspiciously absent from all the shots of Excalibur in present day Storybrooke. We’ve seen the sword clearly from both sides with no name attached, too. In particular, when Rumple drops it at the end of 506. So I think Merlin somehow got untethered from Excalibur before they all returned to Storybrooke.
Emma untethers Merlin in Camelot and tethers it to Hook in an upcoming episode and sends him to battle Hero!Rumple. Heroism wins but Hook dies (?) and goes to the Underworld. Emma’s DO curse is broken because Hook lost, and now she has to go to the Underworld to save him. Hence someone (Regina?) agreeing to “go get the pirate” in a 512 filming report. 511 ends with them opening a portal/vault/something to the Underworld.

I think Emma tethers Hook to the sword and uses him to fight HeroRumple.
I think you are right, except I think she teams up with Zelena to do it since she has done it before with Merlin.

Well, after tonights episode I guess this makes a little more sense.

My guess is that Hook and Rumple’s battle will be to determine which side Excalibur will snuff out, Light or Darkness. Rumple will represent the Light, while Emma will control Hook to represent the Dark.
OMG this episode was soooooo good! I was soo excited from pretty much start to finish. and what an ending?! Can’t wait for next week!

Nimue was the first dark one!!! That is what I thought a while back, but then (due to spoilers) thought she might have been the second dark one and killed Vortigan to become the dark one…which I guess I was mostly right except that Vortigan was just a random villain.
Emma’s smile when hook gave her the ring and she said she loved him. AWW she was sooo happy.
We got an explanation for the significance of the middlemist flowers

I thought the Holy Grail = Excalibur was a really cool idea in that I did not see that coming – also it was nice to get some explanation of how Merlin got his powers and why excalibur is great even to destroy the darkness… but as RG points out the HG being in the EF really makes no sense. Maybe I would have liked it more if it wasn’t referred to as the holy grail and instead was more holy-grail-inspired-ish.
Hook’s ring. He does say he is a survivor a heck of a lot and is pretty “overconfident” about it. So, I guess it makes sense that there might be a legitimate reason behind this. However, why not just use one of his many rings that we see him wear all the time? Why come up with a brand new mcguffin for it? My only explanation is that the writers want it to have originally belonged to his mother and that is why he wears it on a chain and why they couldn’t just have it be one of the ones we have already seen.

–Why did Nimue turn green so fast?
Because she is the First. So that makes her Uber-Dark One, not just regular dark one. I am curious as to why Emma is more pale and not green actually. In the Comic con promo they put some glitter on her skin but in show shes just a little bit paler than usual. Hmm. I would like to see have turned green if only for a brief while anyway.

Keeper Of Tamara's Taser , Jafar's Staff, Kitsis’s Glasses , Ariel’s Tail, Dopey's Hat , Peter Pan’s Shadow, Outfit, & Pied Cloak,Red Queen's Castle, White Rabbit's Power To World Hop, Zelena's BroomStick, & ALL MAGICOkay, so on the whole I actually liked this one more than I thought I would. At least compared to some other episodes. I like when the show explores its mythology and leaves its arc-of-the-season behind for awhile to explore some deep seeded questions.

–At least exploring the show’s history and answering questions. I don’t know how good those answers are yet, but at least we got them. But like a lot of past answers–Henry’s adoption, the Book, the Author–they feel born out of the season of the moment and not a long thought out plan.

–The final scene with all the Dark ones. So creepy!

–Jesus is a realm jumper. What? I know I’ve brought this up before but Christianity did not spring into existence from nothing. There is a VERY long history behind how it came to be and the EF hasn’t demonstrated that it had the history and conditions that our earth had for this specific religion to form! Therefore having Christian crosses and the Holy Grail (a Christian icon) are not possible unless you want to tell me that Jesus was a realm jumper with a spinny hat, in which case, I’ll set my M.A. ablaze.
–Hook’s silly ring on a chain. Great. More magical mcguffins.
–Since I’m looking for it now, more classism!
–The Merlin and Nimue love story was so fast. Does anyone else remember when romances on this show were built slowly and with purpose?
