I personally think the picture is a young Snow White. Click to reveal:
Look closely at the shape of her face and her white ribbon. The picture from the book is identical to the photo of the young Snow White (episode 18). Finally, I think the reason Henry had a funny look on his face at the start of episode 17 is because this may have been the first time he came across the story. I think this was one of the stories August added to the book: how young Snow White caused the Evil Queen pain. That is why Henry was curious to discover it.

I’m calling Emma’s stars, Prince Charming’s sword, and Jefferson’s scarf.

I think door 7 is the portal to FTL since it is an ornate wooden door with large trees carved on it, which reminds me of the Enchanted Forest. Door 8 is aquamarine in color and could represent Atlantica, the underwater realm of Ariel. Door 12 looks Oriental as to possibly be Mulan’s realm. I think door 15 looks like it could be a nod to Tron, which was was written by the producers of OUAT. I also think door 16 is so ordinary as to represent Earth, the “real world”.

Agreed. I think the conversation between David and Kathryn really did take place and isn’t a fake memory implanted into him. The entire point of the hypnosis was that it unlocked David’s subconscious and true memories of FTL.

“If Rumpel just wants the curse broken then why did he help Regina to do the curse in the first place?” That is the essential question the OUAT creators Kitsis and Horowitz want us to ponder.

Kitsis also brought up the idea that the whole curse may have been designed to benefit Rumplestiltskin and not the Evil Queen. “Why would somebody create a curse that they didn’t themselves employ and for what reason?” Kitsis asked.

“That is a question we’re going to answer this year.” Robert Carlyle added when talking to TVLine. “You realize that maybe Rumplestiltskin [didn’t create the curse] for her at all. Maybe he was doing it for himself.”

Which brings up the biggest question in all of this: What benefit could come to Mr. Gold in the cursed world of Storybrooke?

I think that Emma could be an Alice-like figure. She went through a metaphoric rabbit hole when she was transported out of FTL in a wardrobe. She is in a world she doesn’t really belong in. She has the magic to make a portal to another world. She even has a white rabbit decal on her car. There is some more discussion about this on the Emma character analysis thread. https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=264

I’ve never seen Lost so I can’t comment on that. I do know August is of Latin origin and means great or magnificent. I’ve thought that it could be a title like “The Great Wayne Booth.” Wayne Booth was a 20th century literary critic of fictional works and had several theories like the “unreliable narrator.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_C._Booth

@ rumplegoldfan: I agree with your assessment. It seemed like Mr. Gold approached Regina for a deal to make her think he was siding with her. Yet, all along, he was planning to offer his lawyer services to MM in order to beat Regina at her own game. He probably thought Emma would also approach him about working together.

@sjm: Turns out I was right about Wonderland being another dimension.

    Ok, I’m calling it again:
Kathryn is still alive in SB.
Kathryn is rescued by Frederick’s SB counterpart, the school gym teacher.
Jefferson will return in season one.
I second MM and David remembering by the end of the season.
The season finale will include Snow White blowing her whistle and the Huntsman coming to her aid.
Emma and the Huntsman will meet again one day in FTL.

    I’m calling August’s typewriter, Graham’s wolf, and Henry’s storybook!
