ParticipantI hope his real name isn’t David however it would be quite interesting if it was for the reason that you said, he wouldn’t be able to bury who he was during the curse. Snow may forgive him for what he did but Charming wouldn’t forgive himself so easily for how he treated her. The fact that he and David would share the same name would be a reminder of that. Also it would make for an uneasy reconciliation with Emma. The David that Snow knows Charming as would be completely different from the David that Emma knows him as, yet Emma would still see the situation as David hurt her best friend/mother.
All magic comes with a price!

ParticipantYeah, Emma’s name was originally Anna. It seems like they couldn’t get Anna approved by whoever does name approvals rather than them actually wanting to change it. I can’t recall what interview made me think that.
I’d seen this supposed script page on a website months ago but I hope they don’t stick with it because I really don’t like the name Richard. David and James are both Biblical names and for me it seems like a biblical name would fit him best.
I could live with his name turning out to coincidentally be James anyway but I absolutely don’t want it to be David. I feel like David was such a perversion of who Charming was that the name now symbolically represents everything that was wrong with him during the curse. When it comes to melding the two together in S2, I think while Charming will have David’s memories, he actually can’t retain any of the personality because it was such a polar opposite of his true self. Thus the way Josh keeps describing it as “David is dead. Charming is back.”
And I agree and think David should be dead. It would be horrible symbolism for David to turn out to be Charming’s real name, making it impossible to ever truly bury who he was during the curse. I think they obviously want there to be curse repercussions for Charming of course but I don’t think they want the repercussions of David’s cowardice to be permanent. He’s lost enough in just time raising his daughter and grandson and the 28 years in a coma away from Snow. The marriage/affair issues I think are something that can be overcome. So it’d be bad writing in my opinion to force him to retain a name that would symbolize an inability to ever overcome the relationship problems.

Participant1.The character you first fell in love with…
Rumplestiltskin, I suppose. Mostly because he’s just great fun to watch.2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now…
I don’t know…3. The character everyone else loves that you don’t…
Regina. Mostly Mayor Regina. And… dare I say it? Graham. Sorry, but there’s something whiney about the guy sometimes.4. The character you love, but everyone else hates…
I don’t know. Cinderella, I guess. Some people don’t like her, but I suppose I can somehow relate to her. Kind of… And then David. Loads of people can’t stand him. Personally, I blame it on the curse.5. The character you used to love, but don’t any longer…
There are none. My likes and dislikes a pretty solid.6. The character you would totallly smooch…
Jefferson! Without question.7. The character you’d want to be like…
I would like to be brave like Belle. Sometimes I would like to just jump without knowing if I’ll fly or fall.8. The character you’d like to slap…
Again, Regina.9. A pairing that you love…
Why do you even ask? 🙂 Rumbelle!10. A pairing that you despise…
Swan Queen. I sure get why people like that pairing, but I really don’t like it. Regina is Emma’s grandmother! Sure it’s through marriage, but still…August 10, 2012 at 1:07 am #152974In reply to: Season One DVD/Bluray Set – Extra Details

Thank you so much for posting these.
Bonus Scene – Once Upon a Time – I’m Your Friend Too:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8g7MKHToGE&feature=player_embeddedBoo hiss!!! I wasn’t expecting this. I think I needed time to prepare like when I found out that Regina was going to kiss David in The Stranger.
Bonus Scene – Once Upon a Time – I’m Your Friend Too Part 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bin5HdhhiVE&feature=player_embeddedAw, I loved this heartbreaking scene. I wish this had been included in the actual series because I think it would have made Emma’s reaction to August trying to prove to her that she’s the Savior even more impactful.
Spoiler just in case Plus, I would have also liked this scene to be kept in because when Snow and Emma try to bond this season as mother and daughter, this memory is surely going to be going through both mother's and daughter's mind for a long, long time to come.
Oh the feelings. 😥
ETA: I just remembered that was right after Emma called Mary Margaret her family. Even more feelings now. 😥

ParticipantI never thought of the Blue Fairy as evil. With Baelfire falling into the vortex alone, that was Rumpelstiltskin’s fault. As sorry as he is for it, I agree with the Blue Fairy when she told him that he was the one to drive Baelfire away. It wasn’t smart to let Baelfire try to convince the Dark One alone, but Rumpelstiltskin had the choice–he went with the wrong one. Nor do I blame her for not helping Regina–a lot of people seem to find that to be her fault. The only thing I hated her for was her speech to Dreamy about how he can’t be with Nova, and how she lied to Snow White and Prince Charming about the wardrobe.
As for Baelfire and Emma, I never thought of them as being together. This show is pretty strong with twists–Red is the Wolf, Rumpelstiltskin is the Beast, and the Mad Hatter was not always mad. Them being together is one, what fans expect to happen. Also, I don’t think Emma would fall for someone that is the son of Rumpelstiltskin. Granted, she is not malicious–she wouldn’t treat either Baelfire or Belle unkindly, but she would be wary of them. She’d probably keep them at a distance.

ParticipantI can see Prince Charming and Henry bonding very well–given the they have had a good collection of photos together, and how they are both similar in bravery and self-sacrifice, there hopefully will be some great moments between the two. And of course I want Emma to bond with her father, though I have a feeling she will be more comfortable with her mother. 😀

ParticipantThose pictures are epic of the family meeting again. Awesome. And everyone looks to be there all together. Emma, Henry, Snow, Charming, Red, Granny and the dwarfs. Awesome.

KeymasterThat’s interesting, but Emma’s name was originally something else in leaked scripts.

KeymasterI caught that, too, in our rewatch. I think it was a nice tie in that the writers probably originally planned.
